The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1787: Return of the Asura Race (14)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
[A/N: Celestial Grade Beast talks about their bloodline, and Celestial Beast is about their cultivation base.]
"My lady, are we going to join the battle?" one of the Pseudo-Primordial level wolves asked, staring at Grand Alpha Chaos Wolf Khana.
She didn’t immediately answer.
Rather, she focused intently on the battle in the distance. Klaus’s side is still dominating, not because they have the numbers, but because they are also much stronger than the enemy.
Every last beast on the battlefield is a Celestial Grade Beast. Even those with a cultivation base of gods are all Celestial Grade Beasts.
Klaus had upgraded their bloodlines, so they have more powerful bloodline innate abilities than their opponents. It was why mere god beasts are fighting supreme-level chaos beasts and slaughtering them at an alarming rate.
Khana knew this had something to do with Klaus. There was no way that this number of beasts had been assembled already with Celestial Grade Bloodlines.
Since that was the case, if she sides with him, there is a chance she might be able to earn his favour and, in turn, ask for his help in upgrading the bloodline power of her people.
There are only 700,000 wolves in her pack. However, out of this number, only 350,000 are warriors and can fight in this battle. If she chooses to join, she would have to use only 300,000, since the remaining 50,000 will be left behind to protect the non-combatants.
The risk is high, but the rewards will be out of this world.
"Let’s stand aside for now," Khana said, and her people nodded.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Klaus and his people are pushing back with only 10 minutes on the clock, meaning they still have 50 minutes to go before the gates open and the most dangerous race to ever leave returns to finish what they started during the Blood Era.
On the side, Asura is besieged by close to 50 Celestial chaos beasts, each aiming to kill him. However, with his battlefield prowess, he deftly moves between their attacks, cutting them down one beast after another.
Suddenly, from the side, he saw a Celestial Beast in the form of a mantis lunging forward, aiming its front legs at Aster, the second Asura Key.
She was now radiating a red blood aura.
With his speed, Asura could get to it and kill it, but he did not. Instead, he let it pass, leading the mantis to believe it could succeed.
But it didn’t get far.
Just before it could close the 400 meters between it and the ladies, a bullet came from the side, taking its head off.
Asura, using the corner of his eye, saw Uncle Ziggy spin his revolver before firing another bullet, taking the head of another Celestial Beast.
"Tch, show-off."
He didn’t dwell on it much longer, since he knew that when it came to battlefield finesse, nobody could surpass an accomplished gunslinger like Uncle Ziggy.
This battle is escalating much quicker than he expected, but it is also blessing him with more blood essence.
Suddenly, a powerful presence appeared on the battlefield.
Lifting his head, he saw a humanoid holding a large broadsword dripping with watery poison. Asura immediately sensed that its cultivation base was at the Pseudo-Primordial level.
However, he didn’t move to attack it. Instead, he observed it with clear focus.
It surveyed the battlefield before its gaze landed on Aster again. It was then that it moved, but one of Asha’s insect warriors blocked its path.
’Interesting, it looks like Aster is more important than the other two. Maybe because she is the Fate of the Present.’ Asura knew the three ladies now sitting before Queenie were the Fates of the Asura race.
But they each represent a different aspect of fate time.
Kalynda is the Fate of the Past. She represents the past of the Asura race. Initially, they believed that if she died, the Asura race would cease to exist.
However, now, it is clear that even if she dies—something Asura had no plans of allowing to happen—but if she did, the Asura race would not die.
Rather, their past would be forgotten.
Their memories would be wiped, and both they and everyone else would forget about their existence during the Blood Era.
That would, in a way, work in their favour. Many hate them because of their past, after all.
But they need to remember their past to build their future, which, at the moment, rests in Hermina’s hands. She is the Fate of the Future.
However, Aster is the Fate of the Present. If she dies now, the Asura race will cease to exist. So she is the most important person who needs protecting now.
Asura realised that and immediately issued some instructions, and the battle scene was immediately affected.
’Ladies, focus more on protecting Queenie and the three Fates. I am already impressed by your dedication and will reward you all after the battle, but protect them first and leave the main battle to us. After they are done, you can rejoin.’
None of them frowned; rather, they all pulled back and created three layers of defense around Queenie and the Fates.
’Nadia, you and Asha can remain in the battle for now. But stay close to your sisters since they might need your help soon.’
’Don’t worry, Klaus, we will not fail you.’ Nadia and Asha knew when to compete and when to collaborate. So they joined their sisters and deployed 20% more of their warriors, creating a 4th layer of defense.
After that command was issued, Asura turned and looked at Asmodeus. ’It is your time to shine, Asmodeus. Pull back Khthon from the cosmic seas when the time is right.’
’I will do just that, Master.’
Asura sighed, and then a smile formed on his face.
"Hahahahahahaha... so the heavens have decided to play unfair, huh? Since that is the case, allow me to remind you why I am the Paragon of the Night Stars."
BOOOOM
The Dao of Blood and Slaughter exploded from his body.
Then his eyes lit up red, and smoke started rising off them. His sword was raised, and just before the Celestial Beasts could approach him, he brought down his sword, and a large blood arc left his sword.
It cut through thousands of chaos beasts, each turning into blood essence. They flew toward him and merged with his forehead.
Suddenly, the aura of a Supreme started to leak from his body...
"Is he mad? He is breaking through in the middle of an active battle," a warrior from the Tikkun Ancient Family exclaimed, his eyes widening.
Many wore the same expression as him.
The same could be said for the six patriarchs.
"This is bad."
