The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1752: Blood Is Thicker Than Water (5)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
Tharos was sent flying away, a large cut appearing on his chest...
"Oops, I forgot to tell you, but using soul-related defense against me is a bad idea. My attacks are rather amplified when they come into contact with soul energy," Asura smiled and took one step, appearing several km away, the blood sea moving with him.
Tharos steadied himself and immediately put away the lantern.
He also felt it.
His own soul energy amplified Asura’s attack, which, from what he felt, told him a second attack would send him to the afterlife.
So instead of the lantern, he summoned a sea of water, causing a large sea to materialize behind him.
Asura came to a halt, and with a dumbfounded look, he said, "Really? Haven’t you heard the saying, blood is thicker than water?"
"Die," Tharos shouted and then he moved, and with chains now dangling in his hands, he swung, causing the sea of water to move and crash toward Asura.
"Oh, this is going to be fun," Asura smiled.
His True Forbidden Blood Dao surged, causing the laws of Blood and Slaughter to take root. Then, tapping into the same technique, he unleashed the second form.
"Crimson Blossom Slash"
The Sea of Blood surged and formed into a large blossom, then with one decisive slash, thousands of blood petals, each stronger than metal, exploded forward, meeting the crashing wave of seawater.
The petals, imbued with the power of Dao, pierced the water as if it were made of cotton, some finding their mark on Tharos’s body while others were evaded.
"Oh, another thing, unless your understanding of the Dao surpasses mine, then despite the gap in cultivation, you are going to lose," Asura unleashed the same attack again, pushing Tharos further back.
He didn’t even allow him a moment of rest when, in the same setting, Asura decided to close in and prove to the universe that cultivation base was merely a level that could be ignored easily.
He was a god, but even against a Pseudo-Primordial, Asura was proving to be formidable.
"The truth is, you are going to die today whether you like it or not. The only question is, will you give in and die easily, or will you stubbornly try to hold on and suffer before dying?"
As he said that, Asura appeared before Tharos and landed a kick to his stomach, causing the poor Death Omen to cough... "Allow me to free you of your mask,"
The chains on Asura’s Blood Sword elongated and pierced through Tharos’s shoulder...
"Come over here,"
He pulled, and Tharos’s body was hurled forward.
Blood moved from behind Asura and formed into a spiked knee guard. Then, with his energy poured into his leg, just as Tharos arrived before him, the leg moved and landed a hard blow on his face, cracking the mask.
But because the force behind the attack was so great, the impact rattled Tharos’s mind and broke his nose, causing streams of blood to pour out of his nose and mouth.
"Sorry about that, I didn’t expect you to be that weak,"
A grin appeared on Asura’s face, then he flipped his long crimson hair to the side and looked at Tharos, who was surprisingly handsome behind the mask.
He looked to be in his late 30s, but considering he had been tormenting the adventurers for thousands of years, he was much older than that.
"Much better. Now, I can look into the face of the person I kill, knowing I killed you,"
"You talk too much." The chains on Tharos’s hands elongated, and the sea of water before him surged. Then, from deep within the sea, a large chain emerged, increasing the pressure in the air.
Asura felt his body tense. The next second, the chain crashed down hard on him.
"Blood Hand,"
The blood surged, forming into a large hand. Then, making a grabbing motion, Asura caught the chain and pulled it, dragging it out of the water.
"Blood Transformation," the endless sea of blood surged and merged with the chain, turning it from water into blood. At once, the terrifying water chain turned into a blood chain, the pressure vanishing only to return severalfold.
Tharos frowned, but his expression only made Asura laugh more.
"I picked you because of your water element body. Blood, as they say, came from water. And since you lack a proper use for it, how about I help you instead,"
The chain dangled, making a loud sound.
"Now eat your own chain,"
Asura made a throwing gesture, and the large Blood Hand threw the chain, slamming it into Tharos’s body. The impact sent him flying away, crashing into a mountain.
The mountain turned to rubble.
"That’s more like it."
All over the Ancient Battlefield, every last person watching the battle had only one question on their minds.
"How... Just how is a mere god trashing a Pseudo-Primordial, and a prominent one at that?"
What Asura was doing made no sense. At least with Rhazor, the first exchange ended in his defeat. While he didn’t die, being sent crashing into the dirt was a huge humiliation.
However, Asura was different. Not only had he taken control of the battle like Rhazor did with the Twin Dagger Fiend, but the thing was, Tharos was one of the Nine Deadly Omens.
He commanded the concept of Soul Extinction.
In truth, just one true attack was supposed to detach Asura’s soul from his body. If that happened, then he would gain the upper hand and end the battle before it began.
However, Asura had proven to be more resilient than most he had faced, and despite Tharos’s attempts to wiggle his way out of the deadly attacks he had been bombarded with, none worked.
"This is an eye-opener for all. I think after today, everyone will come to terms with the power of the Paragon,"
"That is true. I have heard of his legendary feats, but seeing and hearing are two different things. This is an eye-opener for me,"
"Same here. If two of his bodies are already this monstrous at the god stage, who is to say what will become of them when they become Celestials."
