The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1727: First Mission
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
Picking a mission that better suited one’s expertise was always ideal. Luckily for Rhazor and his team, they now had access to every last mission in the 7th Outpost.
They just had to pick and choose.
"Our first mission should be a red mission and one that will allow Asmodeus to farm more than a dozen Celestials," Rhazor stated, and everyone nodded.
They were all eager to go out there and test their newfound powers.
Luckily for them, Rhazor also wanted to test his Dao in real combat, so, scanning through the available red missions, he spotted one that better suited their needs.
The stronger Asmodeus became, the better it would be for all of them. So he picked it and applied as a group. In no time, the mission was approved.
Rhazor reviewed the content of the mission and smiled, "So our mission is very simple. We have to head to the 4th Shattered Sky and hunt down a Foreign General, said to live in one of the three valleys there.
"He is believed to be a Pseudo-Primordial with over 30 Celestials working under his command. There will be hundreds of Supremes too and perhaps a thousand Gods, so we have to prepare well before heading over."
They nodded, every last one of them already prepared before coming. Rhazor knew that already, so after explaining some things to them, they left, ready to make their appearance in the ranking.
Completing a red mission would raise their standing by several levels.
The power dynamics on the Foreign Race were such that killing a single Pseudo-Primordial wouldn’t be considered a huge loss. After all, there were tens of thousands of them, so they wouldn’t start missing a few weak ones.
But that was fine because the universe had been fighting against the Foreign Race for thousands of years and hadn’t won, not even once.
This wasn’t because the warriors fighting for the universe were weak... the truth was far from that.
The main reason had to do with the sheer number of the Foreign Race. There were so many of them that killing a few Celestials would not put a dent in their vast army.
However, killing them and using their sheer numbers to raise an even deadlier undead army surely would put a dent in their numbers, and that was what Rhazor had come here to achieve.
Asmodeus was now an existence whose power was on another level of madness. He alone could create and command thousands of Pseudo-Primordials.
What could be better than that?
So, counting on that gain they would soon have, they left for their first mission, and rumours had already started to spread throughout the outpost.
"Have you heard? The Paragon and his team came to this outpost and have already left for their first red mission," some of them started to spread the rumours even more.
"I thought it was a lie, but I had just seen his group appear on the active missions list. To think he had indeed come here when he declared he wouldn’t be coming here for another 100 years."
"Maybe something had happened, and so he escalated this. But that is cool with me since I would have done the same thing if I were in his shoes. The problem now is whether or not he has the power to challenge that maniac.
"I mean, he had gone after the Twin Dagger Fiend, right?"
"It appears so. He and his team would surely learn a very good lesson soon, I suppose."
As more people spread the rumours, they slowly made their way beyond the walls of the 7th Outpost and began spreading to other outposts.
"What? The Paragon had registered at the 7th Outpost..."
"That is..."
"Unbelievable, but believe it because he had indeed done that, and even I don’t think I can make heads or tails of why he would do something like that, especially when his enemies are everywhere."
Klaus would have laughed if he were here and heard what these people were saying.
If only they knew he wasn’t someone they could measure up to, regardless of how they saw him...
As time passed, thousands of warriors had heard of Rhazor’s arrival in the 7th Outpost and his first red mission. The Dark Space Channel, of course, carried it all the way to the outside world, reaching countless others.
Somewhere, hidden inside a tower, Elorm, the Celestial Supreme, or perhaps the former Celestial Supreme, also received a piece of this news, leaving him gritting his teeth.
He looked at the information sent to him by one of his spies for a few minutes before smashing the tablet to bits.
"Bastard... After destroying everything I had built, he has the balls to show his face again." He gritted his teeth, and then he retrieved another communicator since he had crashed the first one.
Dialing a number, he initiated a call, and a few rings later, a demon man with a long beard, twisted facial features, and a deep blue complexion appeared in the projection and knelt down... "Celestial Supreme, you called?"
Elorm nodded and replied:
"I have a mission for you and your team."
"We are at your service."
"Good. Which of the demon outposts are you currently at?" Elorm asked, and the demon man smiled...
"3rd Outpost. However, if you are calling because of the Paragon, then know that we have already set out to find him. Our allies at the 7th Human Outpost have sent us the details of his mission."
"That is great. Your mission is to either kill the Paragon or his teammates. Even if you can kill just one of his teammates, you will receive the usual fees and a favour from Lord Axarax."
The expression on the demon man’s face brightened. He clearly had no plans to back out of this mission, so getting paid to do something he had already planned to do sounded like something good.
Then again, one would wonder why the Celestial Supreme, who was considered the pillar of the Righteous Faction, would be in bed with demons.
Perhaps he had never been on the side of the Righteous Faction to begin with. Regardless, he had already made up his mind to go against the Paragon, and he had found the best team to aid him...
"Just you wait, Paragon. Soon, you will know what despair feels like."
