The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1661: Reincarnated Friends (12)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
For a Paragon to admire someone so much that he chose to use their name during one of his many incarnations showed that the person in question wasn’t simple.
Vampire King Magnus, or as he was widely known during the Primordial Era, the Blood Sabre Vampire King, was someone whom Klaus greatly respected and still respects.
Just like how he admired the Beast God, he had the same respect for Magnus.
They met during one of the most dangerous moments of his life during the Primordial Era, searching for the same thing.
Even before they met, almost everyone was searching for the rumoured [Immortal Claw Art], the very technique left behind by the Beast God.
Klaus was one of the few determined to get their hands on it. Due to this obsession, he ventured into an unknown ruin said to be from the distant past, unaware that it was a trap set by someone Klaus would later come to know as Axarax.
30,000 powerful warriors entered that ruin, but only four walked out.
These four were Klaus (Paragon), Matthew, Yaxche (Blood Dagger Prince), and Akutaq (Blood Sabre Vampire King). The only reason they all made it out alive was because of the Blood Sabre Vampire King.
They were ambushed by overwhelming numbers.
When it got to te point where there was no sure way of escaping a horde of Void Beasts, Magnus found a way by burning his bloodline, unleashing powers beyond his limit.
He saved them, and since then, Klaus has become someone who admired him and his strength.
Today, watching him stand before him, a calm smile playing on his face, Klaus could only pull him into a tight hug.
These were some of the people who kept Klaus focused, never allowing him to lose his mind even after the heavens conspired against him.
Magnus, or Akutaq, stood 6’7" tall with a slightly muscular physique. Just like his brother Yaxche, he also had pale vampiric skin. However, Akutaq’s complexion was much paler, considering his bloodline was much stronger than his brother’s.
He had a pair of red eyes, the same as his brother’s, and flowing red hair. Yet again, unlike Yaxche, who preferred trousers and sleeveless jackets, Akutaq was more drawn to robes worn over trousers with long sleeves.
He wore sandals and had a blood-red sabre strapped to his back, a weapon that had struck fear into many hearts in the past.
"This person is dangerous," Miguel said, looking toward Akutaq, who was now hugging Klaus.
"Indeed," Daniel nodded. "The other two are also dangerous, but there is just something about this guy that gives me a familiar feeling whenever I look at Klaus."
The rest of Klaus’s friends nodded. Klaus was lively and easy-going, but whenever they looked at him, they could sense a danger, vast and restrained, resting deep within him, ready to be unleashed at any moment.
The same feeling could be sensed from Akutaq, making them finally understand why Klaus seemed so happy to see him.
Danny turned and looked at Mark. "Mark, buddy, you lived during the Primordial Era, so tell us, do you know him?"
"I do," Mark said, a pale smile forming on his face. "I only met him a couple of times, but from what I know, he was the strongest warrior to live during the Primordial Era."
"Even more monstrous than the Paragon?" Lin, one of his girlfriends, asked, and Mark nodded.
"Yes. The Blood Sabre Vampire King stood above all. Then again, the Paragon was only a Demigod among Celestials, so maybe if they had both shared the same cultivation base, he would have dominated him.
But from what I remember, Lord Magnus was someone even the Paragon respected. We all did because he led the battle that ultimately brought the Primordial Era to an end. He inspired many to take up arms and join that battle."
"Damn, looks like we have to do better, or else we will soon become bugs in the Paragon family," Kay said, then chuckled.
His friends laughed, but deep down, they knew what he said was true. The more they met some of Klaus’s friends, the clearer it became to them that they were still lacking.
"What is there to even talk about? They are Pseudo-Primordials, and we are Supremes. It is only natural that they are stronger than us," Danny, of all people, said, making his friends nod. "We still have time to improve and rise beyond who we are now."
His words seemed to make them all nod.
Akutaq pulled back and looked at Danny and co. "Nice meeting you all, friends of the Paragon. You can all just call me Akutaq."
They nodded and introduced themselves.
Afterwards, he turned and looked at Klaus. "Glad to see you in one piece, brother. I knew there was something special and familiar about you when we met on Planet Primus. Who would have thought you were the Paragon all along?"
Compared to Yaxche, Akutaq was very talkative. It could be said that he was an extrovert, while Yaxche was an introvert.
"It is nice to see you again too, buddy."
Akutaq smiled and turned to his brother and Matthew. "Looks like the whole gang is here," Akutaq said with a laugh. Matthew smiled, and Yaxche remained calm, almost as if he wasn’t excited that his brother had returned.
Akutaq knew him better than anyone, so he wasn’t bothered. He knew that when there was danger and one had to fight, Yaxche could always be counted on. But talking wasn’t his thing.
Akutaq began to learn more about the past and current situation from Klaus, who told them everything he had recalled thus far. He told them about the Divine Era and how they fought the gods.
He talked about the betrayal of the Heavens Court leading to the annihilation of the Asura race... well, fake annihilation.
He spoke about how he had been hunted down every era since then. Finally, he came to the revelation that Elorm, who was now the Celestial Supreme, had conspired with Axarax to first annihilate the Magnus Vampire Clan and had been in cahoots with him ever since.
"I always knew that bastard was up to no good. But to think he had fallen this far," Akutaq sighed, then added, "I guess I will kill him the next time I see him."
Klaus grinned. "But he is your son, though."
"He is no son of mine. I had five children. Four of them had good heads on their shoulders. He, however, turned out to be rotten, so I will happily make sure he understands his place by putting him down. Someone who points their weapon at family doesn’t deserve to be left breathing for long."
Klaus sighed, but he knew that even if Akutaq couldn’t bring himself to kill his own son, Yaxche would not hesitate to put that bastard down.
Klaus decided to close the Chapter on the Celestial Supreme since it had now become a family affair.
But they would have to sit down and plan their next moves.
However, before that happened, there was one more awakening left, and it had arrived just in time.
Suddenly, the cocoon housing Gorr’s body cracked, and the colour in the air was drained, turning everything grey.
"This aura..." Akutaq narrowed his eyes at the cocoon. "It can’t be that sword, right?"
"It is the Necrosword," Klaus sighed, then added, "I will be right back."
His body moved, and he vanished, appearing in a colourless domain where Gorr hung in the air, both arms and legs bound in chains.
Standing beneath him was an ugly, horned, metallic-bodied demon holding the Necrosword.
