The generals decide to prioritize dealing with the demons and restoring their public image over confronting the Paragon, opting instead to seek a truce. They delegate the 4th and 5th Generals to meet with the Paragon. They also debate their allegiance regarding the Celestial Supreme, ultimately deciding to maintain their current name and strategy for now.

With their plans set and decisions made, the 24 Generals brought the meeting to an end, and each left for their homes, returning to the real world.

They knew what they would do if they planned to continue as the Heavens Legion. The mere idea that they would one day become the most hated legion in the universe never crossed their minds, not even for a moment.

However, as reality would have it, everyone now hates them after Klaus revealed the Celestial Supreme’s true colors and his intent to destroy the universe. They realized the Heavens Court wasn’t on their side after all.

The question many kept asking was, if the Paragon hadn’t caught up to the Celestial Supreme and Axarax and exposed them, would the Heavens Court, which included the Heavens Legion, have sided with him and dominated the world?

These questions left many people furious, and now that they knew who to trust and who not to, the Heavens Legion had its work cut out for it.

It would take tremendous hard work to win back their public image and maybe one day be taken seriously again. But they had made a decision, one that had yet again set them on the path of righteousness.

In a month’s time, the 4th and 5th Generals would meet with Klaus and see how best to move forward without stepping on each other’s toes.

After exposing Axarax and Elorm, Klaus knew the threat wasn’t dealt with in the slightest. If anything, he had only exposed them so they could not bank on public sympathy and keep deceiving people into believing the Paragon was the threat.

However, by exposing them now, they became traitors, but also the threat he knew them to be.

They were free to go against the universe in the open now, and that was exactly what Axarax and the Celestial Supreme had been up to for the past couple of days.

Axarax had lost 16% of his power to Klaus and his three past friends. Klaus alone took 10%, while his friends took the remaining 6%. That, though small, was a significant loss when his true strength was put into perspective.

So he was furious, but he also knew he could not let the Paragon catch up to him. Be that as it may, he recognised the Paragon as a threat he could not ignore, so he knew he had to be prepared.

Thankfully, with just 2% of his power invested in each of the 8 Doom Monarchs, he was able to raise their strength to the rank of Pseudo-Primordials, and with their powers as Doom Monarchs fully awakened, they had each become monsters in their own right.

But he wasn’t satisfied with just that; he needed more. So, after he was done transferring his power into the 8 bodies, he made a decision.

"Elorm, although you have been a failure these past few weeks, you have served me for billions of years, and so, while you deserve death, I have decided to give you one more chance to redeem yourself," Axarax said to the Celestial Supreme through one of his bodies.

Elorm, who was already on his knees, bowed, his forehead touching the ground. "Thank you for your mercy, my lord. I promise I will not fail you again."

Axarax smirked and replied, "Of course, you will not fail me. You cannot afford to fail me because if you do, I will kill you myself before the Paragon gets the chance."

The Celestial Supreme trembled on his knees, but he managed to swallow his fear.

"Go out there and search for bodies strong enough to hold my power. I don’t care about their ranks. As long as they are below the Celestial stage, bring them to me.

If we want to have a shot at defeating the Paragon, then I need the rest of my power. So go hunt for me, and when you are done, I will personally grant you the power you desire."

Elorm nodded. "I will get right on that, my Lord. I promise I will handle this swiftly."

"Good. Now go and don’t fail me again."

The Celestial Supreme left in haste, knowing this was his last chance to make it up to his master, who held his destiny in his hands. If he wanted to become a Primordial one day and rule the universe and beyond, he needed Axarax.

So he could not fail him.

After he left, Axarax smirked. "What an idiot. You think I would be stupid enough to make you someone who can replace me, huh?"

What many didn’t know until recently was that, even during the Primordial Era, Axarax had been in contact with Elorm. He wanted him to become the Celestial Supreme since that position came with something many did not realise was significant.

By becoming the Celestial Supreme, one gained some form of control over the Heavenly Dao. This control could then be bestowed upon others by the Celestial Supreme.

So by becoming the Celestial Supreme, Elorm gained that power, and he handed it over to Axarax, who then used it to suppress the universe that had already lost its soul.

It was the perfect plan.

He first attacked the universe, forcing her to sacrifice her soul to summon the Paragon. Then, by using someone blessed by the Heavenly Dao, he managed to gain control over the heavens, making sure the Paragon failed at what he was brought there to do.

Axarax was known as the Parasite, not because he looked like one, but because he excelled at infiltration and manipulation.

He managed to sit back and control the universe for several eras.

Unfortunately for him, he never expected there to be someone even more devious than he was.

Klaus had been planning his downfall for a while now, so he might have felt like he was winning, but he knew that with the Paragon alive, his plans were still hanging by a thread.

Even so, he was determined to succeed in his mission, which involved opening a passage from this universe so his one true leader could come there in person and put an end to this pitiful universe.

He looked up at the sky and sighed. "I have to say, Paragon, you are a worthy adversary, but very soon, your end will come, and I will be there, smiling at you as the victor."

He laughed, and then he summoned his other seven bodies.

"You three should head over to the Ancient Battlefield and help the foreign race intensify their assault. Four of us will head over to the Void Vein and open the gate for the Void Legion to march into this universe.

It is time to keep them busy while we work to bring Lord Calamity over and finally be done with this universe, too."

They nodded, and a few minutes later, they each left to handle their missions.

One of them stayed behind to welcome the new bodies Elorm would be bringing to him. "Let’s see if, after all these years, you have prepared for the assault the Void Generals will be bringing this time, Paragon."

He laughed, closed his eyes, and began cultivating. With his experience as a cultivator, every second he spent cultivating added to his power across all eight bodies.

His breathing calmed down, but despite keeping a focused mind, he still couldn’t get the name Paragon off his mind.
