The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1530: An Angry Paragon (2)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
The long-awaited moment for the Paragon's arrival to rescue his parents had finally arrived. While some had anticipated his appearance earlier in the intense confrontation, the emergence of Supremes and Celestials had begun to sow seeds of doubt.
However, his actual arrival left everyone utterly astonished, unable to believe what they were witnessing.
Shameless, perhaps, but many never envisioned the Paragon making an entrance accompanied by a hype man. Given his parents were surrounded by Celestials, the public expected a forceful, direct charge through the chaos to their side.
Yet, observing Klaus emerge through the portal, seated with an air of utter relaxation, caused many to facepalm. Even his father was taken aback, struggling to comprehend the scene.
Klaus paused beside Asmodeus, and as if their actions thus far weren't enough, his next words made many question if the masked figure was an imposter.
"You forgot to add the most loving."
"Sorry, Master. I will get it right next time."
"I trust you, Asmodeus. Now, take the gifts I had prepared for you."
A smile spread across Asmodeus's face as he turned away. Raising his staff, he commanded the thousands of corpses beneath his authority as a Necromancer, and they stirred to life.
"ARISE!"
At one point, Hunter and his forces were unable to absorb the blood from all their slain enemies, leaving countless bodies floating in the void, awaiting a new master. Now, Asmodeus had claimed them all, a sight that instilled both fear and rage in the observers.
"Well then, I will be on my way, Master." Asmodeus bowed deeply towards Klaus before vanishing. Klaus understood that resurrecting such a multitude of demigods and gods would have severely taxed Asmodeus's spirit and body, prompting his departure to recover.
Klaus then moved towards his parents. Approaching his mother, he stood and walked to her. The woman, who had missed her son dearly, embraced him tightly, tears streaming down her face.
"Sorry, Mom. I should have foreseen this and made better arrangements for you and Pops." Klaus gently rubbed her back, his mask concealing the furious expression simmering beneath.
The sight of his mother's tears alone possessed the power to ignite a massacre within him.
Their embrace lasted a full five minutes, during which everyone present patiently waited. Once Lady Elysia managed to compose herself, Klaus guided her to the Throne of Blood, the very seat occupied by the Asura God during the Blood Era.
"Relax, Mom. Let me deal with these pests, and then we can have a proper reunion."
Lady Elysia nodded, releasing Klaus's hand. He turned his gaze towards his father. "Pops, don't just stand there. Come here for your hug."
Hunter's apprehension stemmed solely from the potential embarrassment of such an act. He secretly wished he could have joined the embrace between Klaus and his mother. Nevertheless, he managed to restrain himself.
Now, like a child, he wrapped his arms around his son.
Azai shook his head, a slight smile gracing his lips. It was evident Hunter harbored no shame. Fortunately, the reunion lasted less than twenty seconds.
"Glad to see you are okay, son."
"Likewise, Pops. Now, allow me to take things from here."
Klaus advanced, stopping beside Azai. He paused. "Thanks for the assist, Uncle. Let's finish this so I can turn you into a true Asura."
Azai's eyes widened in surprise, but Klaus moved past him, a faint smile on his face. Azai turned and noticed Hunter and Lady Elysia exchanging knowing smiles. This prompted Azai to ponder the possibility of becoming a true Asura, considering the lineage of the Blood Demon Race stemmed from the Asura Race.
Klaus then positioned himself beside the Grim Judge, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You look terrible, Marcus."
"That I am, Big Brother. It hasn’t been easy for me at all since you left."
Klaus offered a smile and patted him twice on the shoulder. "We will address that later. For now, watch and learn how to aura farm."
Marcus beamed, relieved that his elder brother had returned. He could finally rest and focus on his own well-being.
Klaus took three final steps, appearing before Ignitia and Aleera, whose faces were alight with delight.
All the surrounding thousands of beasts mirrored their joyful expressions. They could all feel it: a connection that had been dormant for years had finally begun to re-establish itself.
This profound realization was more than enough for them to recognize the masked figure as the Paragon, their master, the Star Monarch. An overwhelming sense of joy washed over them.
"Good to see you two again. The last time we met, Ignitia, you threatened to burn my head off if I didn’t allow you to come to Planet BlueCrest. Do you still want to burn my head?"
Ignitia, who had moments before declared her intent to slaughter everyone, blushed profoundly. It was a startling sight, making many wonder what had become of the Calamity they once feared.
"I-I was kidding, Master. You already know that."
She leaped into his arms, and Aleera joined them. The reunion they had yearned for over countless years had finally occurred, filling them with immense happiness.
Jubilation erupted across many realms upon learning that the Star Monarch had subdued the Three Universe Calamities. The reason for this widespread celebration was simple: the mere thought of encountering these formidable beasts, renowned for their devastating combat abilities, had instilled dread in every warrior. Yet, paradoxically, the very creatures that posed such a grave threat were now nestled contentedly in the embrace of a mere Immortal Lord. Such a sight defied all logic and prior understanding.
Klaus, having undergone a temporary merging with Maud, had ascended to the Immortal Lord realm. This augmentation was crucial for the ambitious undertaking he had been meticulously planning.
"WHAT IN THE BLAZES IS GOING ON HERE?!" bellowed the 94th Heavens Executioner, his voice a thunderclap of pure rage.
The entire situation was utterly bewildering to him. Their mission was to eliminate the individual before them, but upon his appearance, they found themselves paralyzed, mere spectators to his seemingly effortless reunions with his companions. The sheer irrationality of it all was undeniable.
Yet, despite the absurdity, they had inexplicably allowed these moments to unfold. The 94th Heavens Executioner, reaching his breaking point, could no longer contain his simmering fury and chose to make his immense displeasure known.
In response, Klaus calmly turned his gaze towards him, a subtle smirk playing on his lips. He allowed Ignitia to release him before finally breaking the silence.
"I presume all of you assembled here today were dispatched by the Heavens Court with the express purpose of eliminating my parents and me," Klaus stated, his question clearly aimed at the assembled Heavens Executioners and their retinue.
"Even if it costs me my life, I swear I will see you dead, you vile whelp!" the 91st Heavens Executioner declared, his finger jabbing accusingly towards Klaus.
"Vile whelp? Since when did I acquire the titles of 'vile' or a 'whelp'?" Klaus inquired, a hint of amusement in his voice as he tilted his head, his smile hidden behind his mask. "It appears your minds have been so thoroughly corrupted that common sense itself recoils from your presence."
The insult landed with considerable force, yet Klaus showed no signs of ceasing his verbal assault.
"In times past, your kind made numerous attempts on my life, all of which ended in failure. Each time, even greater numbers were dispatched, yet through it all, regardless of the mounting casualties, your relentless sending of more never ceased. It leads me to ponder whether the Heavens Court genuinely values the lives of its subordinates."
"What could someone like you, a brat who has slaughtered countless innocents, possibly comprehend about loyalty?"
"Loyalty?" Klaus responded with a booming laugh, taking a single step forward. "You speak of loyalty? Allow me to illuminate the true nature of loyalty and expose how the Heavens Court has systematically sought to shatter it at every turn."
A profound silence fell over the assembled crowd.
"Did your employers inform you that during the hallowed eras of the Primordial and Divine, I myself was once a respected member of the Heavens Court...?"
