Rory and the others successfully formed their immortal rings after 9 hours. Klaus's clones scouted ahead, revealing a safe path through the wilderness. As they progressed, a void cracked open, and a damaged flying boat emerged, pursued by a metallic bird. Rory saved the occupants of the boat, including the injured 7th Jade Princess, while Klaus engaged the demigod-level bird. The team prepared to fight the powerful beast.

Omen launched himself at the bird with lethal speed, Echo's space magic augmenting his velocity. As he closed the gap to mere meters, the creature whirled, fixing him with a hostile stare.

With a flap of its left wing, a massive feather, tipped with a deadly metallic point, shot towards him. Caught completely off guard, he hadn't foreseen such a maneuver.

Yet, observing Rory dart past him, Omen compelled his body into motion, crossing his sword over his chest to absorb the impact, fully aware of the agonizing pain it would inflict.

The feather struck his sword precisely as intended, sending him hurtling backward.

BOOM

He slammed into the ground, gouging out a crater. However, his gaze remained fixed on Rory, who had managed to get beneath the bird, inflicting a deep gash on its incredibly tough hide.

'Worth it.'

The seven ropes tethered to her armor also plunged into the bird, eliciting a piercing shriek. It struggled to move, but Klaus was already upon it, his scythe clashing against its beak once more.

Slate seized the opportunity to land a piercing blow on its body. Before long, however, he too was sent crashing down, and Rory was unceremoniously tossed aside.

Wincing, Rory glanced at Omen, who had already risen from his sprawling position, a trickle of blood escaping the corner of his mouth.

Seeing he was relatively unharmed, she rejoined Klaus, both unleashing devastating skills in tandem.

Thirty minutes into the relentless assault, Klaus was sent plummeting to the earth, his chest impaled by a feather.

"Ah, that stung like a demon," he grumbled, a smile gracing his lips as he pushed himself back up and vanished, only to reappear before the bird.

Ten minutes later, he was crashing down once more, this time with two feathers protruding from his chest.

"Oh, this brute is a bit tougher than I gave it credit for."

Five minutes hence, he was back on the ground, now adorned with three feathers embedded in his chest...

"Seems this bird won't go down without a fierce struggle," Klaus remarked.

His teammates inwardly wished they could convey that the point was already glaringly obvious. However, witnessing the pale, determined smile on his handsome face, they struggled to articulate their feelings.

By this point, Slate and Omen had already suffered numerous life-threatening wounds, and even Rory and Echo bore their share of injuries.

The avian monstrosity was far more formidable than words could express. Nevertheless, with Klaus still locked in a desperate battle, they had no alternative but to press on.

Thus far, only Klaus and Rory had managed to inflict grievous harm upon its body. Yet, Klaus harbored an unwavering conviction that they could still bring it down.

Rising unsteadily to his feet, Slate surveyed the colossal bird, then turned to Klaus with a sigh. "Can we truly win this? It feels like we're simply delaying our demise the moment our energy reserves deplete."

Klaus grinned, turning his gaze to Slate. "Of course, we can win. I merely require another ten minutes to finalize the killing formation, and the rest will be on my shoulders," he declared.

"Really?" Rory inquired, seamlessly transitioning to her archer class.

"Absolutely. I might have remained silent initially simply because I desired for you all to experience firsthand the sensation of confronting a demigod as a True Immortal, especially since we'll be facing more such encounters soon. However, I now recognize that expecting a True Immortal to vanquish a demigod isn't entirely logical. You all still have much to learn."

The scythe in his grasp hummed, radiating waves of blood Qi. "Nonetheless, I trust that this brief trial will adequately prepare you for the next adversary."

They couldn't help but concur with a nod.

He surged forward, reappearing before the immense bird.

Rory cleared a narrow passage for him with a deadly arrow. Klaus capitalized on the opening, launching a potent strike at the bird's neck, aiming to cleave its head clean off.

However, his scythe was parried, and he was forcefully repelled. Slate and Omen moved to join him, while Echo unleashed a barrage of spells, striving to ensure the next ten minutes saw her and her comrades still alive.

Down on the ground, Princess Evren remained seated, her concentration fixed on the aerial combat unfolding above.

Four days prior, when she and her companions utilized the Void Boat to escape into the vast expanse of the Void, she had believed they were safe from the predatory bird.

Regrettably, it took a mere ten minutes for the creature to track them down, and for the past several days, they had endured countless battles, both within and outside the confines of the Void.

It had reached a point where they could sense death lurking just a step away.

However, precisely as they neared that precipice, Princess Evren detected the subtle mark she had affixed to Klaus when she briefly interacted with him shortly before they entered the nest.

She understood that if she could reach him, perhaps they might stand a chance at survival.

She shared a history with Rory, and thus knew that joining forces with them represented their most viable path to life.

Now, observing them engage the same bird they had been forced to evade repeatedly during their arduous battles, she perceived Klaus and his teammates as significantly more perilous than she had initially anticipated.'But are they formidable enough to vanquish it?' With a few hand seals formed, she accelerated her recuperation, intending to rejoin the fray. Perhaps her mind attacks could carve out vulnerabilities for them to exploit. Regrettably, she found herself in a predicament where her participation would endanger both herself and her allies. Consequently, she could only bear witness to the struggle against the demigod-level monstrosity for several minutes, with no clear path to victory in sight. Klaus and his cohort persisted, accumulating more wounds, yet they managed to prevent the avian creature from claiming any lives. However, their time was rapidly approaching the ten-minute mark Klaus had designated. precisely when the countdown reached its conclusion, Klaus retreated, activating a potent technique. Instantly, a colossal duplicate of himself, standing 24 meters tall and possessing three sets of arms, materialized behind him. In that same moment, one of its appendages lashed out, seizing the bird by the throat and forcibly dragging it to the ground. No sooner had it impacted the earth... The manifested form then diminished, integrating back into his primary being. This caused Klaus to emit a formidable aura before he leaped skyward. Upon his descent, his physique distended, transforming him into a colossal giant, ten meters in height. Behind him, three additional pairs of arms emerged, augmenting his own. His hand count surged from two to a total of eight in under ten seconds. Two of these augmented hands moved with alacrity, one grasping his formidable scythe, the other drawing forth a gleaming sword. These armaments also experienced a significant increase in size. With a mere mental directive, the two detached hands propelled themselves away from his body, hurtling towards the bird, which had just regained its footing and was poised to take flight. Just as it was about to ascend, Klaus executed another decisive maneuver, intent on keeping the engagement terrestrial. "Heavens Engine!" He unleashed the gravity manipulation skill acquired during his cultivation on the gravity planet, subjecting the creature to immense pressure that bore down upon it, compelling it to remain earthbound. This crucial moment of immobility provided Klaus with the opening he needed to strike, a scythe slicing from the right flank while a sword swept in from the left. The bird perceived the incoming assaults and attempted to fold its wings defensively. Klaus understood that the instant its wings wrapped around its body, both attacks would be rendered futile. Therefore, just as its wings began to move, he activated yet another Law Skill... "Chrono Transformative Disc!"
