Jian Anning experienced severe nausea during the first three months of her pregnancy, causing her to be underweight despite a visibly large belly. Yu Zexiao worried about her health and playfully threatened their unborn child, who he suspected of causing his wife's discomfort. While Yu Zexiao expressed hesitation about having more children due to the difficulty of this pregnancy, Jian Anning desired a larger family for the child's sake.

Yu Zexiao quickly understood the reason behind Jian Anning's significantly distended and unusually active belly.

The following day marked their prenatal check-up, prompting an early rise for the couple. Although meals are typically avoided before such appointments, the Yu family, anticipating Jian Anning's hunger, had preparations underway long before dawn, with breakfast already steaming on the table.

Yu Zexiao and the other Yu family members partook in the meal, while Jian Anning remained seated apart. Now nearly three and a half months pregnant, her morning sickness had somewhat subsided, yet her appetite remained limited. The tantalizing aromas, however, stirred a pang of hunger within her.

Given that the other Yu family members were all elders, Jian Anning felt too shy to voice her needs directly. Instead, she tugged at Yu Zexiao's shirt, attempting to catch his attention.

Initially, Yu Zexiao paid no mind. When Jian Anning tugged his shirt again without eliciting a glance, her frustration grew, and she pulled with renewed force.

It was then that Yu Zexiao finally noticed her, turning to face her with a slightly perplexed expression.

Jian Anning cast a look at him, then shifted her gaze to the food on his table, her eyes conveying displeasure. "Breakfast?" she questioned.

"Ah? Ah." It was right before him; if it wasn't breakfast, what else could it be? Yu Zexiao remained somewhat bewildered.

"Does it taste good?" Jian Anning inquired further, leaving Yu Zexiao even more confused. What was the deal with the taste? Soy milk, dumplings, boiled eggs, and a small bowl of red bean porridge – wasn't this the most standard breakfast combination?

Yet, at that precise moment, Jian Anning's expression seemed peculiar, her eyes appearing to sparkle. However, her gaze was not directed at him, but at the bowl situated near his hand!

A flicker of understanding dawned on him. He awkwardly set down his bowl and chopsticks, stating with evident reluctance, "It, it isn't that tasty."

Jian Anning's face then brightened considerably. "Since it's not tasty, then don't eat it. Shall we head out now?"

If she couldn't eat, then no one else should either! While she couldn't control the other family members, seeing Yu Zexiao eat heartily in front of her merely incensed her!

Perhaps Jian Anning hadn't entirely grasped it, but Yu Zexiao had recently observed a noticeable increase in her temper. She had once been his docile little wife, but now her mood seemed rather irritable. If he didn't comply with her wishes, she wouldn't confront him directly; instead, she'd clutch her belly with a pained look – a far more intimidating response, wasn't it?

Observing Yu Zexiao setting aside his chopsticks, Xia Ziyu expressed surprise. "Xingxing, aren't you going to eat anything?"

"No, I'm not eating. I'll have something later with Anning," Yu Zexiao replied, putting down his chopsticks. He then instructed the servants to pack his portion, tidied himself up, and prepared for their departure to the check-up.

The hospital chosen for the examination was a private facility, lauded not only for its superior environment but also for the exceptional caliber of its medical staff. Its stringent confidentiality protocols made it particularly suitable for prominent individuals like Yu Zexiao.

"Honey, I can barely walk without eating anything," Jian Anning stated, her pampered nature evident. They hadn't even completed two check-ups at the hospital, and she was already disinclined to move further.

"Should I carry you on my back? Absolutely not. Carry you in my arms? Still no, what if I stumble and fall?" With her carrying a child, a heightened level of caution was paramount. If he were to lose his footing while carrying her, what if the baby sustained an injury?

"What, is the child all that matters to you now? Will you only care for the child and disregard me after I give birth?" Pregnant women's emotions fluctuate rapidly; what began as a delicate display of need had now escalated into outright fury.
