Anning suddenly fainted, prompting Yu Zexiao to rush her to the hospital. While Xia Ziyu initially argued, she eventually followed, showing concern. After some discussion, Yu Shenglin, the family patriarch, approved Yu Zexiao's long-held decision to marry Anning and pursue IVF for children, granting his grandson permission to proceed with the marriage plans.

"Wh-what?!" The Yu Family was utterly blindsided by this colossal shockwave!

The suddenness of it all left everyone struggling to grasp the unbelievable reality!

The physician, with an eye-roll, stated, "She’s been pregnant for nearly a month and hasn’t been able to keep anything down. Fainting from anemia is hardly surprising, is it?"

Jian Anning had been experiencing persistent dizziness, bouts of nausea after every meal, and aversions to strong smells of oil. The Yu Family had dismissed it as a lingering cold, never suspecting pregnancy!

"Is this… is this truly happening?" After such a prolonged period of hopeful anticipation, the Yu Family could barely accept the news!

"If you doubt it, you can arrange for a test tomorrow morning." Yu Zexiao, without missing a beat, pointed out that Jian Anning hadn't eaten breakfast and could provide a blood sample immediately.

The doctor proceeded to draw blood, which was promptly sent for analysis. The results were swift and definitive: she was indeed pregnant, carrying his child!

A hush fell over the entire Yu Family, struck silent by the news. Even Xia Ziyu, usually the most critical, was beaming with joy!

Her primary issue with Jian Anning hadn't been outright dislike, but rather her inability to bear a child, which had delayed her grandson's marriage. Now, with a baby on the way, all was forgiven!

The roomful of people surged forward to see Jian Anning, who had also regained consciousness. Still disoriented and feeling faint, she looked at Xia Ziyu with an apologetic expression.

Yu Zexiao, beside himself with elation, entered the room and clasped her hand, too overwhelmed with emotion to speak.

It was Xia Ziyu, however, who broke the silence, her voice warm with a smile, "Anning, are you feeling hungry? Thirsty? Would you like something to eat? Ah, yes, you’re weak now, you should have something nourishing to regain your strength."

Jian Anning’s lips were pale, and she remained unaware of her pregnancy. Seeing Xia Ziyu approach, she attempted to rise, feeling unsteady.

But Xia Ziyu wouldn't allow it, now that Jian Anning was carrying the Yu Family's precious grandchild!

Moving swiftly, Xia Ziyu’s voice was laced with concern, "You’re weak, don’t move. Just rest properly!"

As her words settled, the room erupted in laughter.

Xia Ziyu wasn't a truly bad person; her demeanor towards Jian Anning had always been rather kind. In retrospect, her previous displeasure stemmed from Jian Anning’s constant delays in marrying her grandson and producing heirs, making her reluctant to fully integrate into the family. The most frustrating part was when she finally agreed to an engagement and to conceive a year and a half ago, yet nothing came of it until now!

Elders naturally desire to see their descendants settled and continuing the family line. Her previous reluctance to give birth, and now the apparent inability, coupled with the Yu Family’s three-generation succession of a single male heir, had understandably caused her distress.

Despite her sharp words in the past, Xia Ziyu possessed a soft heart. She never interfered with Yu Zexiao's indulgence of Jian Anning, believing she deserved the same treatment. What parent, after all, would favor a spouse for their child who clung to them without contributing to the family's continuation? No matter her other merits, the failure to produce descendants was seen as a grave lack of filial piety!

Now, with a child on the way, her greatest anxiety had vanished. Otherwise, she feared a grim reckoning with the Yu Family ancestors after her passing!

What a magnificent turn of events; arriving at the opportune moment is far better than arriving prematurely!

"What are you all laughing at! What’s so amusing!"
