Jian Anning was fully aware of her condition. Should she have had lingering concerns about Gong Houqing and Gong Han a year prior, a twelve-month regimen of exercise and care had seen her recovery nearly complete. Her visits to the hospital for various examinations had confirmed this, with all results indicating no residual issues. As for the persistent difficulty in conceiving, she accepted that it was largely a matter of fate.

Children were present within this household, and others were also visiting the Leng Family. This occasion saw not only the presence of the mixed-race appearing Xiaobao, but also Leng Yunlin, who had brought along two children. One was an adopted boy named Mu Shang’en, who was a year younger than Xiaobao. The other was his own newborn daughter. Mu Shang’en was a year younger than Xiaobao, and Leng Mo, his own daughter, had only recently been born.
Upon their arrival at the Leng Family residence, the atmosphere was one of complete pandemonium. Despite Xiaobao's mild autism, it manifested only towards strangers; when surrounded by children his own age, he unequivocally took the lead. Under his direction, the Leng Family home devolved into utter chaos. By the time Jian Anning and the others arrived for their visit, these two youngsters had just shaved the family dog, a Welsh terrier, leaving its fur scattered throughout the house. They had also liberated the chickens from their coop. The freshly shaven Welsh dog, now in pursuit of the frantic chickens, dashed wildly around the yard, transforming the scene into a literal spectacle of disarray.
Leng Yunting was incensed but dared not lay a hand on his beloved son, fearing his wife's displeasure. Meanwhile, Mu Shang’en, comprehending little of the situation, simply followed his elder, mimicking Xiaobao's every action. Leng Yunlin and his new wife, Mu Qingyu, doted on him excessively, their eyes alight with affection. They merely offered a gentle reprimand upon their return, instructing him not to join Xiaobao in causing mischief.
As Jian Anning and Yu Zexiao first stepped into the Leng residence, they perceived only the general disarray. However, in stark contrast to the indignant second-generation parents, Leng Haotian and Feng Linxue, alongside Leng Haoran, appeared rather amused by the lively domestic scene.
"My apologies, things are rather chaotic here today," Luo Qingxue approached, offering a greeting, though her expression was more mirthful than vexed. Upon noticing Jian Anning holding a gift box, Xiaobao, with his keen sense of smell, immediately detected its contents and came running over: "Aunt Mu, are these durian puffs for Xiaobao?"
"Indeed, but not solely durian puffs; there are also blueberry cheese pastries that En'en fancies," Jian Anning replied. Earlier, she had heeded Yu Zexiao's counsel, understanding the importance of catering to preferences. Consistently bringing Xiaobao's favored durian puffs to the Leng Family gatherings had gradually fostered his enthusiastic reception of Aunt Mu's visits.
"Wonderful! En'en, come here! Aunt Mu has brought us treats!" Xiaobao exclaimed, waving a hand to beckon Mu Shang’en over. The two youngsters, momentarily abandoning all pretense of decorum in their eagerness for sweets, immediately scurried over, sweetly inquiring, "Auntie, Auntie, may we eat now?"
"Not just yet," Feng Linxue intervened, gently patting the heads of the two children. "Your Aunt Mu is here for a medical check-up. Furthermore, it's nearly dinnertime. You may indulge after the meal."
"Poor Aunt Mu," the children chimed in. They understood the unpleasant bitterness of medicine, and Aunt Mu always had to consume such concoctions during her visits. Xiaobao, particularly, having endured much medication himself due to his frequent illnesses, his small face immediately crumpled with sympathy upon hearing Aunt Mu also had to take medicine, rendering him remarkably pitiful.
"Once the illness is vanquished, the need for medicine ceases," Jian Anning mused inwardly. Her pulse had been checked, revealing entirely normal readings—in fact, her condition was quite robust and exceptionally conducive to conception.
