"Being able to eat is a blessing!" Mo Siyu found few expectations for his son. Ever since his little one was born, his mother's gaze had been consumed by him. He once bantered freely and won favor with Zhao Ziyin, but now he was relegated to third-class status; even the nanny tending his son commanded more attention from her.
"As long as he's healthy," Jian Anning remarked nearby, her gaze filled with envy for the youngster's robust appetite and sturdy development. She clapped her hands, addressing Mo Yangyang, "Yangyang, will Godmother hold you?"
Mo Yangyang, gripping a teething biscuit, blinked his eyes. After a glance at the beautiful auntie, his chubby form wriggled, and he swiftly transitioned from his mother's embrace to Jian Anning's.
Though just over a year old, the little fellow already understood gender distinctions. In his eyes, attractive women held the greatest appeal. Should a man attempt to hold him, however, he'd only be shown the boy's backside.
Merely one year old, the child tipped the scales at thirty pounds, his cheeks adorned with multiple rolls. For toddlers, a bit of chubbiness was endearing. Yu Zexiao inquired from the side, "Can you manage him? He looks rather hefty!"
"Of course," Jian Anning replied.
Holding a child, why wouldn't she be able to? Jian Anning was absolutely delighted. Mo Yangyang gazed at the pretty aunt, his heart filled with joy. He even offered his half-chewed biscuit, making "ah, ah" sounds, conveying, "It's delicious, you try it."
Ordinarily, Yu Zexiao would have unceremoniously dismissed the chubby youngster! To offer saliva-laden food to someone else?
Yet, upon receiving the biscuit offered by the tiny hand, Jian Anning opened her mouth and accepted the treat.
"Ah, ah." Seeing her eat the biscuit, Mo Yangyang beamed with delight. He turned, retrieved another piece from the small bag clutched in his other fist, and again offered it to Jian Anning. She continued to indulge him, eating it.
"Wow, this is truly remarkable," Zhao Ziyin observed, approaching. "This little one is actually sharing his food with you! It's like the sun rising from the west!"
With that, she lifted Mo Yangyang from Jian Anning's arms.
Unexpectedly, Mo Yangyang, not quite ready to leave the pretty aunt's hold, whimpered "ah ah" unhappily when his mother took him. Zhao Ziyin playfully swatted his little bottom, scolding, "You little rascal, you're swayed by beauty, aren't you? All my affection for you is wasted!"
Mo Yangyang, unaware of his mother's playful pique, giggled, offering the half-eaten biscuit nearby. Zhao Ziyin ate it while murmuring, "At least you know how to please your mom!"
Finishing her words, she turned to Jian Anning, "Don't mind him. This little tyke enjoys offering food to any pretty woman he meets! Such early charm; what will you be like when you're older?"
Mo Yangyang, despite being scolded, continued to laugh, his eyes crinkling.
"How could I mind? If I could borrow even a fraction of his luck, it would be wonderful." Jian Anning was quite envious. She even produced tissues to wipe the crumbs from his mouth. An old wives' tale suggested that borrowing a child's luck could help conceive a chubby boy the following year.
"You..." Zhao Ziyin observed Jian Anning's envious expression, recognizing her desperate yearning for a child over the past year.
"Don't be too hasty. Many people face difficulties conceiving these days. You have no physical ailments; it’s simply a matter of destiny."
