Rex undergoes a dangerous process to become a true Demigod, channeling immense divinity from the slain God Mayar. Simultaneously, his divine space is infused with power by the Goddess of the Greater Moon, Aylith, forming a solidified moon around him. His sister Davina also begins to glow and ascend.

Rex’s silvery eyes remained fixed on the gauge.

His body was now a furnace of agony that had been burning for ten unbroken minutes.

His vision blurred, but he would not blink.

His teeth ground together with such force that he felt the enamel splinter, and still, he didn’t look away.

Looking away from the gauge felt wrong, as he was determined to have it reach the next stage before he did something drastic. The divinity pouring into him from Mayar was vast—an ocean of power stolen from an imprisoned God—and yet the gauge consumed it all, climbing with agonizing slowness.

The pain was beyond description.

Every nerve in his body screamed in unison, a requiem of fire and static that threatened to tear him apart from the inside. His muscles spasmed, bones creaked under the strain—threatening to crack, and his veins bulged like rivers of molten light beneath his skin,

And still, the gauge sat at blue.

It was the third threshold.

Rex endured harder, and his eyes bulged as if they were about to pop, watching the last bar within the gauge crawl toward completion. One more bar. Just one more bar. And when it finally filled, the gauge flickered violently and shifted to red.

Satisfaction flickered through the pain, but it was not enough.

He could push for more. A lot more.

His body was already at the edge, screaming for release, but he had never been one to stop at the edge.

Ever since the start of his path to power, he always went past his limit.

<Notice: At this moment, the user was at the third threshold. It was equivalent to Legendary-rank. There is still gold, which was equivalent to Divine-rank. And then cosmic silver, which was equivalent to the Transcendent-rank.>

Rex thought that there was only one more threshold.

As much as he wanted to push himself, even when he started to utilize external help, he thought he was only capable of filling this red gauge and reaching the next threshold. He didn’t feel confident in reaching even further than that.

Seconds ago, he thought that there was no need for that.

But now, knowing that there was still the cosmic silver gauge, he gritted his teeth.

It would most likely be difficult. Brutal, even. But opportunities like this didn’t come often, so he needed to really make use of it. Rex thought back to when he had chosen the Royal Black Prince as his bloodline evolution; it happened long ago, and yet that choice had shaped his entire path to power.

For better or worse.

As the Royal Black Prince, he became too dangerous to leave be by the werewolves.

Being able to have all King Marks changed their perspectives on him.

And the Lunirich Gods—their attention was pulled towards him because of that, too.

Just recalling those things made him understand how much influence a bloodline evolution would be.

Naturally, he needed to go all out.

Normally, pushing past his limits meant risking hurting his body, mind, and even soul severely. He had done it before. He would do it again if he had to. But this time—Rex had other tools. No need to solely rely on his physicality to endure this high tide of divinity streaming through his body.

Levelling up so much granted him items.

And those items could make a difference in this process.

Rex reached into the inventory—and his hand closed around the Longevity of Realm.

A star manifested before him.

A spectacular sphere sizzling with energy and the pale, luminous color of the moon.

It contained so much energy that even being near it made breathing difficult—a weight pressing against his chest. Based on its description, its intended purpose was to further a realm, or in this very case—the Silverstar Genesis.

The Longevity of Realm would spread a protective blanket of energy across the targeted realm.

Not only would it keep the realm from dying of natural causes, but it could also mature and become one with the realm, thereby making the realm stronger. It would be good if he could use this item to further develop his realm, but this moment called for something else.

Rex was in a crucible, and he needed everything that could help.

He clasped the star with his bare hand, and the moment his fingers touched it, energy burst from its core and enveloped his entire body. The sensation was overwhelming—a tidal wave of power that made his cells sing, and his soul tremble.

It seeped into his flesh, his bones, his very essence, and he felt the change immediately.

The tide of divinity from the First Blood Claim Ritual that had been threatening to shatter him like mere and feeble insects now had something else to push against. The pressure on his body lessened, not gone, but manageable.

Precisely the thing he needed to fill up the gauge—endurance.

His limit stretched further.

Rex gritted his teeth and looked over his shoulder.

He wanted to tell Aylith to go harder, but stopped when he realized he was inside a cocoon.

Inside a mini moon, with his energy compressed back into him, unable to leak out.

Feeling the sudden sturdiness on the other side, Aylith frowned. "He was about to reach his limit before; I could feel it, and now he suddenly could endure more divinity? Is this his way of telling me to increase the intensity? Alright then."

Swoosh—!

Deciding to go with her intuition, Aylith intensified the flow of divinity into Rex’s body.

She drew more divinity from the blood circle, causing it to flare brighter—and the intensity of the flow reached an unprecedented level. The gauge surged. Red bars filled with blinding speed, one after another, and the pain came roaring back, worse than before.

It felt like his body was being torn apart at the seams, organs crushed, bones snapping, soul ablaze.

He held on.

Making use of the energy from the Longevity of Realm item to anchor his body more strongly.

Once the gauge hit half, a scream tore from Rex’s mouth.

"RAARGH!"

It was a sound of pure, unrelenting torment, and still, he did not fall.

He flexed his core, threw his head back, and howled at the confines of the cocoon. His body was on the precipice of destruction, but his will held. It always held. The silver fire around him raged brighter, consuming, rebuilding.

And the cocoon that surrounded him cracked and reformed.

But he can’t last long, so he moved to his next item.

Rex reached into his inventory once again and pulled out the Deadly Celestial Corpse Solution.

A big vial materialized before him; it was the size of his torso, and it was filled with a dark green solution that churned sluggishly as if it was alive. It was a grotesque mixture of flesh, blood, and soul, suspended in a liquid that seemed to drink in the light around it.

Even through the sealed lid, the stench seeped into his nose.

It was a cloying, putrid reek of decay and finality—the smell of death itself.

No matter how reeked it was and nasty, Rex didn’t hesitate. He had no time to hesitate as his body was already turning into a silvery light, on the brink of imploding. He flicked the lid, and the stench hit him like a physical blow.

His stomach lurched.

Considering that he was a werewolf, his taste buds were completely different.

Even then, his instincts screamed at him to throw the thing as far away as possible—but his hands were steady. He decisively brought the vial to his lips, took in a deep breath through his mouth, and then tilted it to chug the solution.

Rex’s stomach acted up instantly—the taste was beyond foul.

Beyond anything that he had ever put inside his mouth.

It was rot and ash and the bitter dregs of a billion extinguished lives.

Even his werewolf palate, which found sweetness in blood and flesh, recoiled from the sheer vileness of it. He wanted to vomit. Several times. But he held it down, locked his jaw, and made his throat work to push it down, forcing the solution into his gut.

His body seethed with a dark green aura.

And the stench of death spread outward, thick and suffocating.

From the description of the Deadly Celestial Corpse Solution, anyone who drank it would have a chance to turn their body into a corpse. One that has the durability of a recently deceased God—regardless of the current strength of the person.

Any cues that could send signals that one is alive were rooted out.

No Demigods could tell that the person was faking death. Even some Gods would be fooled by it.

Judging from the description, this item’s usage was clear.

A second life for any person who drank it by allowing it to fake death and making the body invulnerable— as only a Demigod would be tantalized by the durability of a recently deceased God. But right now, Rex was using it to endure the divinity instead.

Once the solution settled, he immediately activated its power.

His body shrank, flesh sinking against bone, and he transformed.

A corpse.

Davina and Lilliana, or even the others back home, would’ve had a heart attack to see him like this. His skin greyed, his eyes dimmed, and every sign of life flickered out. But he was not dead. He was turned into a state of preservation.

Dead in every way but not quite.

But more importantly, in this state, his body was as strong as a recently deceased God.

And that’s far more than he could ever ask.

Aylith felt the change and immediately frowned. She felt the hollowness, the scent of death, and yet for some reason Rex was still absorbing the divinity. Confusion flickered on her face as this was extremely strange.

Even then, she knew what Rex was.

Considering his background and how mysterious he was, this must be another of his strange methods.

So, she kept going.

Pouring even more divinity into him without a pause.

On the side—despite already being finished with what she needed to do, the Uncrowned Matron of Ire observed the scenery with a curious gaze. ’He’s using treasures one after the other divinely. Where did he get all of those? And where is he pulling it out from?’

Naturally, the Uncrowned Matron of Ire had already spread her divine senses across the broken realm.

And she couldn’t find anything tied to Rex.

Any pocket dimensions that he could use to store these treasures he was using.

It piqued her interest, as someone as weak as Rex should not be this capable, to the point of hiding things from her. But despite this finding, the Uncrowned Matron of Ire smiled. She was amused by the air of mystery around this new Scion of the Anger Stratum.

On the other hand, Rex watched the gauge respond instantly.

One bar. Two bars. Three bars. The speed was staggering now, the bars filling in rapid succession as his corpse-form accepted the power with terrifying efficiency. The pain was still there—but it was muted now, distant, like a storm heard through stone walls.

For his body to have the durability of a recently deceased God, the process became far easier.

He no longer needed to worry about imploding. He could take more. He could keep going.

It was all mental right now, at least until the strain reached his soul.

And in the meantime, the gauge climbed higher, unstoppable. Nine bars. His body, dead and unyielding, absorbed the torrent of Mayar’s divinity, and Rex, suspended in the cocoon of silver fire, held on for the final stretch.

Until finally, the last bar was filled.

Almost instantly, the gold gauge flickered and turned into cosmic silver.

It was a brilliant color that sparkled and glinted like the universe from a really far scope.
