The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1994: Power of the Soulspeed Werewolf (1)

"I’m proud of you."
Duke Lorcan held Davina’s shoulders firmly with a big smile on her face.
His warmth was akin to a blanket that covered the body during a chillingly cold night.
"You are the youngest person who achieved the Eternal Spirit rank across the entire empire, beating the crown prince by a decade." He took a diadem from a royal cushion that was held by a servant, and then placed it gently on Davina’s head. "You bring prosperity to our family, and I am more than honoured to be your father."
On the side, the Duchess and her mother approached when Duke Lorcan pulled away.
She hugged Davina tightly, and then leaned in to her ear.
"I am really proud of you. Keep this up and one day—you might be a sword beside your eldest brother. Unlike your sisters, you can achieve your dreams and be freed from fate. Fly high, Davina. Mom is rooting for you."
And then, the Duchess kissed Davina’s forehead as if she were the most precious in the whole world.
Duke Lorcan then eagerly took Davina’s hand and turned to the gathered crowd in this small banquet.
"I now bestow the title for my second daughter, the Graceful Starfall. Graceful as her mother was when I first met her and fell madly in love with her, and Starfall as the sword that would fall from the sky to decimate our enemies!"
Almost instantly, the entire hall heated like roaring flames.
Cheers and laughter spread across the entire place, celebrating Davina’s achievement.
An achievement for being the youngest Eternal Spirit across the entire empire.
"Congratulations, Duke Lorcan! You have such an incredible daughter."
"House of Aurelius will soar even higher! With a daughter like yours, even the sky is not the limit!"
"I’m envious of you—"
"Congratu—"
It was a big, celebratory day.
Nobles and wealthy merchants toasted and showered Davina, the second daughter of Aurelius, with all kinds of praises. Her beauty, strength, and dominating willpower—as she had shown in battle. She was the brightest star, rivalling the moonshine.
But being the brightest meant overshadowing the less bright.
Someone has to be compared to her.
A cluster of noblewomen stole glances at the woman standing near the center of attention, yet somehow far from it. She wore the emerald of House Aurelius, but the color seemed dimmed by her solitude. She was pushed to the periphery, standing beside an elegant man who clapped politely in celebration of the second daughter’s achievement.
His attention was completely fixed on the brightest star, forgetting that he had a star of his own standing right beside him.
"How are they siblings, really? Other than having a similar face, they aren’t alike at all."
"Compared to Princess Davina, Princess Lilliana hadn’t really done anything."
"Well—her marriage helped Duke Lorcan stabilize his power after the catastrophic loss House Aurelius suffered, but other than that, she hadn’t really done anything. Unlike Princess Davina, she simply settled into a dutiful wife."
"A dutiful wife? She can’t even bear a son. How is she dutiful?"
"Maybe the next one would be a son."
"I heard Duke Lorcan was searching for the Miracle Clover for Princess Lilliana, even going as far as asking neighbouring powers for it in secret. A Miracle Clover was used to give miraculous luck, and that can only mean one thing."
"No... Are you serious? She’s barren?"
"I won’t be surprised if her husband went to find a second wife."
"Maybe I can become her husband’s second wife."
The cluster laughed humorously.
Even though the entire hall was filled with noise, their gossip still reached ears that didn’t want to hear.
Princess Davina could feel a stab in her chest. She wanted to slap those noblewomen for gossiping about her out loud—even though she was still a part of House Aurelius that hosted this banquet. But she kept her anger in check.
She stayed in her spot without moving a muscle.
She then turned her palms up, staring at the cuts and calluses that she had desperately tried to cover.
Due to her intense training, her hands were getting rough.
A noblewoman’s hands must remain delicate, so she kept applying ointments to heal them, but even the potency of the ointments she used couldn’t heal this roughness away—when she hadn’t stopped to let them recover properly.
"Your hands are unsightly; keep them hidden away. I told you to stop training so hard."
Her husband saw the roughness and was disgusted.
Even he didn’t try to cover his disgust to protect Princess Davina’s feelings.
"It’ll go away. Just that I need to stop for a month."
"Then stop. How can I bring you around if your hands are like that?"
"Okay, I’ll stop."
"Good, about time. Why are you training so hard, anyway? You’re not Princess Davina. You’re not even near any battle, and would probably never be near one in the near future. Focus on helping the Duke in finding a Miracle Clover instead."
"Yes..."
"And for God’s sake, lift your hands and applaud. Your sister has accomplished something really great, and you cannot muster even the common decency to honor her with a clap?"
Lilliana lifted her hands and began clapping.
She watched Davina nearby, showered with praise and celebration. But she hadn’t been idle all this time. Before the marriage, before all of this, she too had risen—an Eternal Spirit, standing above the average of the noble houses’ descendants.
In fact, she was fifty years earlier than the average time the descendants became an Eternal Spirit.
But she never got the celebratory banquet that Davina received.
Even recently, she comprehended a Minor Law, on top of her first Law.
Duke Lorcan, the Duchess, and even her husband knew about it, yet she never got any recognition.
Regardless of her situation, even when she had only birthed her first and second daughters, she had never stopped training. If not for her, then she was training to help House Aurelius if there were any shortages, or help her husband on the frontline.
And she was also growing.
Yes, her growth can’t be compared to Davina’s growth.
Yes, her achievements weren’t as great as Davina’s achievements.
Yes, she’s not as bright as Davina in any way.
But she’s a star, too. Why can’t anyone see that?
...
There was no thought.
Just the void of nothingness that had engulfed the entire world.
And then, something reached her ears. Noises. Muffled, but they were there. A grinding snarl, the sound of explosions, and a constant voice that echoed like being inside an enclosed cave. Slowly, gradually, the noises began to grow clearer and clearer.
A battle was happening, but she couldn’t see it.
Coldness bloomed at her core and spread, reaching every part of her being.
Then, there was this heaviness that pressed down on her, along with a sting that she didn’t really know where it came from. She was moving. Or at least, her body was moving, but she was certain that it was not out of her own volition.
Light suddenly emerged and assaulted her eyes, smeared and white.
Her retina took in the light and brought the world back to her.
Everything was blurry and terribly smeared.
A silhouette lashed before her; small and frantic. It was trembling from head to toe as if it was enduring something that its body couldn’t really handle fully. Lilliana blinked, and the shape sharpened. She soon realized that it was Davina, backlit, arms crossed to shield her from a terrifying creature’s natural blade weapon.
Davina’s eyes flashed, charging the air before her rapidly, and then she detonated it.
It flung the creature back, and she charged in, giving no time for the creature to recover.
Instincts told Lilliana to get up, to help Davina, but she couldn’t sit up. She could not even move much from her spot. Her hand twitched toward her waist, and the world stopped. Her fingers slid into a groove that was too deep, too smooth, and too terrible.
No flesh knitting.
No warmth.
Just a cold, clean channel carved through her.
Lilliana looked down, albeit her blurriness and weakness. She paused for a second, letting the blur clear, and saw that her torso was nearly cleaved into two. The wound gaped, impossibly wide, and for a stretched second, her mind refused to accept it.
But then, the pain arrives.
Delayed, white-hot, and so excruciatingly painful that her eyes turned glassy.
Even so, she was relieved—this pain confirmed that she was still alive.
’It’s always going to be like this.’
Lilliana lay on the ground, staring at the strange glinting sky and chuckled at her own fate.
For years—she never complained about her situation. Just accept that it was how things were going to be. Accept that she would always be a dimmer star than her little sister. But recently, she finally decided to do something selfish.
Just this one time, she tried to prioritize herself.
She had gone behind Davina’s back and seduced Rex.
And she managed to convince him to turn her into one of the Silverstars.
It was wrong for her to do that, and she knew it. But for once, she wanted to be selfish—to finally stand on equal ground with Davina. So, she took what wasn’t offered. Yet the world had no interest in fairness, and becoming a Silverstar didn’t close the distance that much.
In fact, becoming a Silverstar only allowed her to retain her original position.
Only allowed her to not be left too far behind by Davina.
But even so, the gap still widened.
Davina’s monstrous talent allows her to gain an even greater bloodline.
She didn’t have a bad bloodline; Rex made that abundantly clear, but as always, it’s not as great as what Davina has. As always, she’s not as bright as Davina. Even whilst in the Primordial Meadow, she could not be as useful as Davina.
On top of the monstrous talent, Davina also excelled in other aspects.
And further, Lilliana found herself being overshadowed by her brilliant light.
Just earlier, in passing, she asked Rex whether she should follow them to meet the Goddess, fearing that she would be weighing them down. Rex refused that notion adamantly. He made it absolutely clear that wherever they go, she would also go.
Perhaps he sensed the inferiority in her.
Or perhaps he never saw them as unequal.
Either way, she was really touched and happy that Rex would shut down what she was thinking instantly.
And now, standing within the Sundial Arch, elation surged through her—because her bloodline was the exact power needed to tackle this realm. For the first time, the heaviness in her heart, that silent torment she had carried for years, felt justified.
As if every wound, every scar, every pain had been building toward this single moment.
But as always, the world is unfair.
Just before she could do what she needed to do, a creature cut her elation short.
Now she was lying in her own pool of blood, helpless, watching Davina shining brilliantly again, protecting her from whatever had attacked her mid-air. ’I have been trying for hundreds of years. Perhaps it is time for me to stop. No need to struggle anymore. It was simply meant to be.’
A voice thundered inside her mind, snapping her from her trance.
Lilliana shifted her eyes and saw Rex.
He was stuck in time stasis, unable to move, but the heat coming from him was enormous.
A gasp escaped her lips when Rex shattered the hold—and turned to face Lilliana fully in a snap before the formation’s influence could hold him again. Again, he shattered the hold to raise his arm—and shot a massive lump of energy into Lilliana’s body, giving her fuel to keep fighting.
"R-Rex...?"
She called out his name, weak but audible.
Lilliana’s eyes flashed, and her hand snapped skyward—aiming at the collision of the Time-Space Soul Prisons. They had shattered, and the souls were unleashed from imprisonment and headed back to their flesh bodies.
But she got to them first.
"Soul Fusion..."
