The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1853: God Realm: Primordial Meadow (3)
Previously on The Invincible Full-Moon System...
It wasn't out of any sense of pressure that Rex chose to bring Davina and Lilliana along; it was a matter of necessity.
He truly required their presence.
Devo and Amanir had entered the Mortal Realm with their aptitude greatly enhanced. Their role was to assist Adhara in surviving the perilous machinations set in motion by the cruel hands of Kaiser and Meloriana.
Even with the immense capabilities of the System at his disposal, Rex found himself unable to intervene directly in her plight.
The moment the veil had been activated, the situation slipped entirely beyond his control.
However, observing the way Adhara gazed at him made the bitter truth much easier to swallow.
She appeared far from helpless; she was brimming with resolve.
In her own silent way, her eyes conveyed a promise that she would endure without causing him any further distress.
For the first time throughout their entire relationship, Rex found himself trusting her word.
Something hidden deep within the silver depths of her eyes assured him of her capability to overcome these trials.
In the God Realm, Davina and Lilliana would function as his assimilated spirits—the anchors for his primary elements, Lightning and Lunar. When he had first assimilated Devo and Amanir, they had been nothing more than mediocre High Spirits.
Davina, by contrast, was a Divine Spirit, while Lilliana hovered at the threshold of that same esteemed rank.
Their potential to augment his elements was beyond anything he had previously experienced.
While his elements were already bound to Devo and Amanir, Davina assured him this would pose no complication. In the Mortal Realm, binding with a spirit was the conventional method for a cultivator to seize superior power, as it ensured the spirit's total submissiveness.
The circumstances changed entirely, however, when the spirits were truly willing participants like Davina and Lilliana.
Swoosh—!
Lunar radiance bathed Rex’s form in a cascade of glittering starlight.
His mana surged through his channels with the rhythmic precision of an intricate clockwork machine, flooding his heart media with an ever-increasing flow of power. As the luminosity within his heart radiated through his flesh, it showcased the absolute mastery and delicate finesse Rex possessed over his own inner current.
A slender tendril of mana emerged, snaking its way toward Lilliana as she sat nearby.
She wore her Soul Artifact upon her hands—the Harness of the Seamstress.
It consisted of a silver frame wrapped around her wrist, anchored by a brilliant emerald at its center. The artifact rested seamlessly against a translucent green fabric that pulsed with a vibrant, rhythmic life force. A chain descended from the gemstone, branching off into fine metal rings that encircled each of her fingers.
Upon sensing the caress of Rex’s mana, the Soul Artifact vibrated in response.
Its unique life energy embraced the Lunar mana like long-lost lovers, rapidly syncing with its frequency.
Because Devo and Amanir had been relatively weak at the time of their introduction, their Soul Artifacts had been forced to conform to the rigid constraints of the Mortal Realm upon their assigned elements. Life energy, however, possessed a far greater degree of versatility than the standard aura of the Mortal Realm.
Rather than struggling against the elemental affinity, the energy adaptively shifted, capable of becoming anything it chose.
Once Davina’s life energy achieved a perfect synchronization, the two distinct currents merged into a singular, fluid entity.
A smile played across her lips as she whispered, "We are even more connected than we were before."
"Move aside!" Davina shoved her. She had been intently watching how their energies complemented one another—toying with and stroking each other as they melded—and it felt uncomfortably like betrayal. It grated on her nerves. "Are you being honest when you say your lightning element surpasses your Lunar element?"
"I am..." Rex channeled his lightning element immediately; as expected, it crackled with far more overwhelming intensity than the Lunar energy. "What could I possibly gain by deceiving you?"
"Sister, envy simply doesn't suit your temperament," Lilliana teased.
Davina exhaled sharply, then began the process of connecting with Rex’s lightning energy.
The integration proceeded with the same fluidity her sister had experienced.
Rex felt an immediate surge in his combat capacity as both elements were supercharged by the infusion of their unique life forces.
<Notice: the user’s Ultimate Lightning and Lunar Affinity have been upgraded to Lightning and Lunar Avidity!>
<All elemental spell outputs are now tripled in power!>
<This is a temporary state, remaining active as long as the support of Davina’s and Lilliana’s life energies is sustained.>
Rex nodded in satisfaction, as the result far exceeded his initial expectations.
His initial goal had merely been to bring his elemental prowess in line with the power of his Soul Artifacts, but a three-fold increase was a massive bonus.
As far as he could tell, the Spirit Realm and the Mortal Realm were once on equal footing.
The Mortal Realm had since fallen into a state of weakness by comparison.
However, the accommodating energy present within the God Realm allowed mana to return to its ideal, pristine state.
The mana levels were now equal to his own life energy, and in some measure, perhaps even surpassed it.
"Great Spell," Rex remarked, extending his arm toward a nearby tree while taking care to avoid damaging any Baby-blue Periwinkle in the vicinity. "Black Field Orko."
Blitz—!
The ground beneath the tree instantly turned pitch black, and dark lightning tendrils erupted from the earth like the tentacles of a colossal kraken. The energy throbbed with immense vitality, far denser than anything Rex had previously commanded.
Most notably, a subtle bluish tint flickered at the heart of the lightning arcs.
These were divine reinforcements that had triggered the shift.
"What do you think?" Rex asked, looking toward Davina. "Did that drain too much of your life energy?"
"Not at all," Davina replied, shaking her head; she felt almost no depletion in her reserves. "I can handle it easily."
Even though she expressed no discomfort, Rex tested the result by suppressing the enhancements from Davina.
Surprisingly, it worked; the lightning tentacles immediately contracted to half their previous size.
It was a relief to know he could avoid overtaxing Davina’s energy when it wasn't strictly required.
With his elemental affinities successfully calibrated to Davina and Lilliana, Rex turned his focus toward the quest rewards that had just finished processing. The experience gain alone had pushed him up several levels. Then, there were the two hundred and fifty million in gold, fifty Divine Upgrades, and a collection of vials labeled Divine Protection.
He had hoped for an item capable of locating the Overseer of Realms, but, alas, that remained beyond his current grasp.
Rex nodded to himself and turned his attention toward the skill tree.
Since the King Marks were again accessible to him, he decided to investigate his progress.
He recalled that the Order Skill was slated for an upgrade once he reached Four-star Demigod status.
As he was currently an Awakened Demigod, the upgrade should have already taken place.
True to his guess, the Order Skill had evolved into the Authority Skill.
In addition to a broad enhancement of its effects, the potential drawbacks of maintaining his full moon persona were now nullified. Rex no longer needed to worry about negative side effects, granting him absolute freedom to unleash his power without restraint.
Rex considered looking into the new divine skills he’d acquired, but reminded himself that his companions were waiting.
He retrieved the Divine Protection vials from his inventory, handing one to each of the sisters.
"Where exactly did you obtain these? Through the Space element?" Davina accepted the vial with clear bewilderment. "I possess a Spatial Storage, yet I find myself unable to access it in this realm. I assume it's due to the sheer density of this world's space. How is it that you managed it?"
"Yours must be defective, dear sister. My storage is far superior," Lilliana boasted. She attempted to open her own; a ring on her finger briefly pulsed, but she soon frowned, realizing she, too, was unable to breach her own Spatial Storage. "Hmm, perhaps it is not merely a matter of quality after all."
"Wait a moment," Davina squinted as her gaze sharpened, falling upon the ring—an emerald cut like a diamond, with delicate wings etched into the band. "That is mine!" she exclaimed, startled. "I have searched for years to find that piece, Lilliana. And you..." her hand lashed out. "Give. It. Back."
Lilliana pulled her hand away, using her other hand to intercept Davina’s wrist just before contact was made. "I have an identical replica, only better. This was a gift from Father upon my reaching the Master Eternal Spirit rank."
"Then show me what lies inside!"
"Absolutely not."
"Because you have no doubt that I will find my own belongings and initials inside, don't you?"
Lilliana’s smile remained tauntingly thin. "Or perhaps mine. There is only one way to be certain—and since this ring is currently on my finger, that truth shall remain my secret."
Rex chose to ignore their mounting sisterly bickering.
Davina’s observation regarding the space within the God Realm was entirely correct.
Tearing through the fabric of space here was essentially impossible.
Even at this moment, Rex couldn't detect Nivellen within the Banished Realm; he was unable to reach her. Similarly, his Silverstar Genesis—his personal realm that should be exclusively his domain—remained entirely inaccessible. He found himself unable to utilize even the most fundamental skills that required dimension-hopping.
The Latch of Chains, the Ravenous Maw of Magna, and the Echoes of the Night Spirits all failed to respond to his intent.
His power was currently confined strictly to what he could manifest directly from his own being.
Nothing that required reaching through external space could be utilized, as the space here possessed a master of its own.
"Enough," Rex commanded, silencing their squabble. "Drink the vials and ensure they are absorbed properly. We are currently in a peaceful territory, but our destination lies elsewhere." He shifted his attention to Nash. "Scout the nearest settlement you mentioned. We will wait here. And worry not about the vial; I will acquire another for you when the time is right."
"It is of no concern, Your Highness," Nash replied, shaking his head. "My only purpose here is to serve as your guide. Do not concern yourself with my safety. Let me first prove just how useful I can be."
"Address me as Emperor, not as the Royal Black Prince," Rex corrected calmly. "Now, depart."
Nash disappeared into the distance without a backward glance.
Having survived by his own cunning within the Black Rift, Nash was naturally hardened and self-sufficient. In his view, Rex was a savior who had the power to guide him home; therefore, he felt there was a debt to be repaid.
As that debt was yet to be resolved, he expected no favors from Rex.
His duty here was to serve, as decreed by Varya, and he was determined to fulfill it to the letter.
For the next hour, Rex and the sisters focused on absorbing the contents of the Divine Protection vials.
The tonic empowered their souls with a shield against lesser divinity, a vital asset should they encounter hostile Godlings like those serving Kaiser. Since the protection was bound to their spirits, even death would not result in their permanent demise.
An enemy would be forced to slay them twice over to ensure a truly final death.
Rex remained uncertain of what trials awaited him in the God Realm, but the security of a second life seemed indispensable.
His true objective in venturing here was to dismantle Kaiser’s military forces, tearing down the fortress of divinity that the tyrant had meticulously constructed over countless millennia. Before he could do so, however, he required the blessing of the Overseer of Realms for safe passage.
Every entity within the God Realm required the Overseer's authorization to travel between regional clusters.
As long as the destination resides within the God Realm, entry mandates official permission—and that authority rests solely with the Overseer. Her reputation, her name, and her dictates were universally known, not from gossip, but because she was a fundamental necessity to their world.
Nivellen had informed him that he didn't require the Overseer's personal mandate, however.
He only needed authorization from the Cluster Custodians, the living extensions of her will.
They were numerous, and the one located in the vicinity of this Primordial Meadow was an entity known as Ursa.
In addition to tracking down Kaiser’s personal realm, navigating the bureaucratic requirements of Ursa was essential for checking in on the status of Evelyn and Gistella.
To formulate a viable plan, he first needed to uncover the truth of what had transpired.
