Princess Davina's expression twisted as she observed Lilliana charming Rex.
The most frustrating thing was that Rex appeared to enjoy the attention.
It was obvious from the way his gaze wandered over Lilliana's figure, and he even gulped noticeably a few times. When Rex got embarrassed by Lilliana's recent remark, Princess Davina lost her patience and blasted the cave wall with pure force.
"Have you forgotten I'm present?" Her tone cut like the keenest edge. "Quit the flirting!"
Rex shifted his attention elsewhere, clearing his throat in embarrassment.
Truth be told, he'd momentarily blanked on Princess Davina's existence.
Meanwhile, Lilliana lifted her hands defensively. She knew she might have pushed too far.
"Calm down, sister. He's just a guy," she said with a light laugh. "We've shared all sorts of things growing up."
Princess Davina's wolf ears pressed flat against her head as she growled, "He's mine."
"Fine..." Lilliana splashed some water her way. "If you insist, sister."
Recognizing the intense stare she'd given Rex moments ago, Princess Davina crossed the pool. Her soaked, lengthy hair flowed behind like a smooth curtain as she approached Rex, positioning herself next to him with folded arms and no words.
Their shoulders were now mere inches from touching.
"What’s this about?" Rex inquired.
"What do you think?" Princess Davina smacked her lips irritably. "Perhaps I'm staying near because some guy can't control himself with his fiancée standing right there."
"Mom probably skipped teaching you sooner, sister," Lilliana hid a giggle behind her hand. "Guys differ from us a bunch. They act on instincts more like wild animals. It's normal for his gaze to drift toward those better suited for bearing children."
"So I'm too thin?" Princess Davina's eyes narrowed dangerously.
Granted, Lilliana boasted far more pronounced curves, but that hardly seemed just.
Lilliana had children already, whereas she did not.
"Not at all," Lilliana denied, shaking her head before jabbing a finger at Rex. "But you're blind to his real desires."
"Drop it," Rex cleared his throat again. "It's irrelevant."
"No, we're discussing it. I need to understand," Princess Davina nibbled her lip. "Tell me, sister."
Lilliana rested her arms on the pool's rim and propped her chin on them, grinning as Rex squirmed visibly. It was amusing to consider this was the same warrior who'd demolished Sky City alone. "Beyond being a werewolf and worn out from seizing Sky City, he's buzzing with unchecked power at the moment. A conqueror like him... he craves a way to release that surging vitality. It's instinctive for him to turn to someone who can balance out that overflowing force.
"Yes, he's reached his goal. Yet his inner self requires... soothing." She went on.
Naturally, Princess Davina found this nonsense.
It felt like nonsense her sister invented just to rile her up.
Yet glancing at Rex, she realized Lilliana hit the mark perfectly.
He hid his feelings behind a neutral expression, arching his eyebrows. "She's spouting nonsense. Ignore her."
"No, she's spot on..." Princess Davina fully faced him and grasped his chin, tilting his head side to side. "You're clearly tense. See how flushed you are." Her palm then trailed to his chest, sensing his rapid pulse. "You can hide your breathing, but that heart of yours is racing."
"The steam's getting to me," Rex fibbed, brushing her hand off. "Not what you think."
"Just ease him, sister," Lilliana chuckled, enjoying the scene. "He's on the verge of exploding."
"What—?!" Princess Davina's cheeks burned red. Her poised, distant demeanor vanished entirely. "You mean... that? How could I? We're not wed yet, and I envisioned my first for... well," She waved toward their spot. "Somewhere fitting, not here. A bed would do."
Flustered beyond words, she was.
Their most intimate moment had been a single kiss.
Nothing beyond that had passed between them.
Given the chaos up until the previous night, it made sense.
"Hands will work," Lilliana cooed slyly. "Need a demonstration?"
"No way!" Princess Davina snapped. "Absolutely not!"
Clenching her jaw, she faced Rex. "Do you actually want this from me?"
"Not at first," Rex replied, short of breath. His stare locked on Princess Davina as her form bobbed gently in the water during their spat, exposing nearly all. "But discussing it... yes, definitely."
"How did you manage before?" She probed, truly intrigued. "Just endure it?"
"I released plenty in the Forsaken Tower," Rex said with a shrug.
He saw no point in hiding it.
"Forsaken Tower?" Her gaze turned piercing. "House of Aurelius?"
"Correct," Rex confirmed with a nod. "April handled my urges."
Her expression shifted in a flash.
Princess Davina snapped her fingers, forming a submerged bench for Rex within the pool.
They'd all been on their feet in the water, and she figured standing would discomfort him during this. "Take a seat," she directed, hesitating briefly while sneaking a peek—toward Rex's lower region. "This is new to me, so keep expectations low."
She edged nearer to Rex until her shoulder met his torso.
With Rex's arms extended outward, slipping into his area proved simple.
Averting her gaze, she extended her hand tentatively until her fingertips met something firm.
She jerked back at the contact but soon grasped it once more.
The idea that April had tended to Rex's desires ignited fury in her veins. She'd vowed to outdo April in every way, so backing down wasn't an option. Visibility below the surface remained nil.
The greenish, misty water concealed everything beneath effectively.
When her fingers at last secured what she believed was Rex's—she caught him inhaling sharply and holding it. Through her shoulder, she sensed his every muscle tensing at her gentle hold.
’This must be his...’ Her mind raced. She fixed her stare on the water, as if attempting to see below. ’First time feeling a man's part, yet is it truly this large? My fingers scarcely encircle it.’
"Eurghh..." Rex let out a rough sound from her firm clasp.
"Easy there, sister," Lilliana observed his response with sharp attention. "Tone down your strength to his level. Wouldn't want to damage it, right?"
Princess Davina dialed her power back to Eternal Spirit rank.
Immediately, the discomfort shifted to delight, as Rex's frame eased up.
"Slide upward," Lilliana instructed, leading her sibling into this unfamiliar realm of maturity. Her life had focused on schemes and power gains, leaving her clueless here. "Then downward. Reach the root. Keep it gentle and steady."
As ecstasy mounted, Rex's arm dropped into the pool.
He seized Princess Davina's waist, digging into her soft, lush flesh.
Princess Davina startled at his grip. A jolt like lightning raced from his touch, surging through her beneath the skin intensely. She looked over to find Rex watching her—with a burning, intense fire in his eyes unlike any before.
They were now intimately near.
Rex moved to capture her mouth, but she dodged shyly at the final instant.
Undeterred, he eagerly pressed kisses to her throat.
Somehow, her innate aroma struck him as sweeter than before. Perhaps as a Silverstar now, her form released a fragrance to draw the Alpha's preference. Either way, it proved utterly captivating.
This time, Princess Davina stayed put. She brushed her hair back, stifling a soft cry as Rex's mouth blazed a trail along her neck's curve. Logic nagged that a bed would suit this better, but a stronger, pressing urge cautioned against halting him—a grave error, it seemed.
She couldn't fathom her intuition's warning.
Louder still was the voice urging Rex onward.
Heat poured from Rex's form.
Not from power or presence, but a carnal warmth her feminine senses detected clearly.
It overwhelmed her, curling her toes and clenching her legs.
As Lilliana signaled Princess Davina to quicken, Rex's frame trembled at last.
"Erggh..." A deep rumble escaped Rex's chest—while relishing her flavor. His hand boldly cupped her breast at the surge's height. Hers lacked Gistella's fullness, but they felt tauter, more richly shaped—a ideal, soft heft molding to his grasp perfectly.
Princess Davina tried shoving his hand off in objection, yet he ignored it.
He nuzzled into her neck, basking in the release.
Unable to fend him off, Princess Davina withdrew her hand from the water and examined it.
Naturally, the liquid had rinsed away Rex's essence, but the firm, pulsing rhythm lingered in her memory against her skin. A ghostly beat, unyielding and strange. Utterly novel to her. The echo persisted, etched like a debut hunt's thrill.
She sensed it wouldn't fade quickly.
Though her technique remained clumsy on his length, it served as a fine beginning. Rex stretched his free hand for further contact—but Princess Davina shifted back. "You're settled now, aren't you? We need to scout for cover if we're lingering here."
Rex nearly objected, but Lilliana spoke first.
"Hurry out, unless you fancy pregnancy," she joked.
"What?!" Princess Davina erupted from the pool, sending water flying, and positioned herself at the edge. "Is that how it happens? Does it move through the water? I always assumed conception required the full act."
Lilliana erupted in laughter. "How naive are you, sister? Just kidding, of course."
"You jest excessively," Princess Davina stood tall, irked.
Her elder sibling relished poking at her inexperience here.
Such chances rarely arose for Lilliana normally.
Rex's presence unveiled Princess Davina's vulnerability and purity.
"I'll scout for refuge from the Black Rift," Princess Davina evaporated the moisture from her body using life energy swiftly, then dressed once more. "Join me, sister. Let him recover some. He exerted himself plenty last night."
"Lead the way," Lilliana dismissed her with a wave. "My Spiritual Veins took a hit. This pool's essential for me."
Princess Davina agreed with a nod and departed.
She avoided glancing back at Rex, striding off briskly.
Conversely, Rex watched her retreating form, curbing his lingering desire.
Being passive, particularly in such a mild encounter, clashed with his nature, leaving a sour aftertaste. He yearned to claim her fully, but recalling her inexperience made pushing unwise.
Rex tsked and clutched the pool's rim fiercely, crumbling it to gravel.
He tightened his jaw, flexing the muscles, aware that one release fell short for him, especially post-Blood Moon.
As if scripted by destiny, his gaze locked with Lilliana's.
She grinned at him now. Her sly eyes winked as events unfolded ideally.
"Checkmate," she murmured with excitement.
In that instant, it all clicked.
Rex ground his teeth. He hadn't anticipated this snare.
