The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1822: Taunting Tease

Previously on The Invincible Full-Moon System...
Rex, exhausted and weakened after his rampage, submerged in a secluded pond to heal his wounds and cracked Soul Artifacts using a Soul and Spirit Solution, savoring a fleeting moment of peace amid the misty monoliths. His solitude shattered as a starlight barrier enclosed the area, revealing Princess Davina's arrival—drawn by his brief exposure of the moon's leash—and her seething confrontation over his betrayal of the empire. In a fierce clash of words and blows, Davina expressed outrage not at the destruction, but at Rex's assumption of her weakness and disloyalty, unveiling a treasure box containing Duke Lorcan's decapitated head as proof of her resolve.

Rex gazed at the severed head of Duke Lorcan before shifting his gaze back to Princess Davina.

He had expected this encounter to turn disastrous for himself.

In the end, rage had overtaken him, pushing him to act far beyond his original intentions.

Yet now, Princess Davina revealed her fury stemmed not from his actions against the empire, but from his perceived disdain toward her. And to top off the shock, she had arrived bearing her father's head within a precious container.

"Did you kill him?" Rex inquired, his eyes bulging in astonishment.

"No and yes," Princess Davina responded. "I granted the order, and Lilliana carried it out."

"He was gathering the dispersed troops along with his loyalists to aid Emperor Dominar." Princess Davina's tone remained steady amid the grim revelation. "Had we ignored him, he would've amassed no fewer than a million warriors, all set to pursue you relentlessly or, even worse, negotiate with the Sky City."

"Even so," Rex glanced up at her, incredulous. "He's your father."

"That's coming from you, of all people," Lilliana scoffed. "You're an emperor yourself, right?"

Rex found himself speechless.

He ruled as an emperor in the Mortal Realm, yet his background lacked the opulent paintings and vast, echoing chambers of royalty. Instead, he grew up in modest surroundings, compelled to tread a harsh road that echoed the ruthless pursuits of the elite.

It continued to astonish him that they resorted to such measures.

"I wasn't born an emperor," Rex denied with a shake of his head, then eyed the sisters. "But are you certain about this? Beyond him being your father, he's the final male in the Castillon lineage. His death spells the end of the house. Without an heir, there's no legacy."

"Oh—that's quite bold of you to assume," Lilliana folded her arms beneath her chest, trailing a finger along her lips. "I'm no longer tied to the house, true—but Davina remains a Castillon. Or are you implying she'll soon become a Silverstar?"

"That's beside the point," Rex muttered irritably.

He felt a twinge of annoyance at Lilliana's appraising stare sweeping over him.

"It's alright," Princess Davina stepped in. "We understood the implications fully, and we've embraced them."

Rex chose not to argue more.

He might disapprove of such ruthlessness, but deep down, another side of him admired Princess Davina's choice. The idea that she would eliminate her own father and allow the empire to fall apart for his sake touched him deeply.

Naturally, her motives likely ran deeper than his own grasp.

Disillusionment had probably driven her decision.

"We won't pretend this wasn't partly for our own gains," Lilliana drew nearer. Her usually braided and tidy wavy hazelnut hair now flowed wild and free, swaying with her steps against her shoulders. "But it serves your interests too, so you must... return the favor."

"Hmm...?" Rex arched an eyebrow. "What exactly do you mean by that?"

"Precisely what it sounds like," Princess Davina moved in closer and bent toward his face. "For eliminating one of your greatest threats, you owe us repayment. For me in particular," She flashed a warm, soft smile laced with a sharp undertone. "I demand you forsake April. Completely forsake her."

Rex hadn't pondered her desires much before.

He possessed the System.

Most requests could be fulfilled effortlessly, but this one blindsided him entirely.

"Request something different," Rex rejected outright.

"Nothing else interests me," Princess Davina shook her head. "That's my sole desire. She's nothing but a liability to you. Consider the recent events; she forced you to endanger yourself rescuing her. How often has that occurred?"

"Face it. You'd fare better without her," She urged in her sweetest tone.

Rex had never heard her sound so alluring.

"She didn't force my rescue. We were both ambushed and captured together," He countered.

"All the same," Princess Davina inched even nearer. "I insist you abandon her."

"And what about you?" Rex questioned, without glancing at Lilliana.

"As her elder sister, I wish for her joy too," She answered with a playful lilt. "Fulfill her wish."

Rex felt trapped.

The pair had arrived with a shared purpose, turning the situation into two against one.

"Eliminating Duke Lorcan doesn't justify ditching April," Rex spun around toward his healing pool. "I doubt he'd forge any deal with the Sky City after my deeds, regardless. Name another favor. I could grant you both additional powers."

"Refuse our demands," Princess Davina's words hung in the air. "And you'll forfeit our alliance."

Rex stopped short.

This reaction emboldened Princess Davina further. As a noble—and a skilled one—she excelled in bargaining and interpreting subtle signals. "An Alpha holds power only over a weaker Beta. But you lack the strength to dominate me."

"Are you claiming that I..." Rex pivoted gradually to peer over his shoulder—his presence quaking the earth underfoot. A deep rumble echoed from his throat in a growl, "...can't overcome you?"

Obviously, the response was affirmative.

However, that wasn't her intended point.

In a direct clash of personal might, absent any aids, Rex stood no chance of victory.

He remained an Eternal Spirit, whereas she embodied a Divine Spirit.

"Don't glare at me that way," Princess Davina's tone gentled. She wished to avoid provoking Rex's wrath, yet this discussion was essential now. "I'm not seeking conflict. I simply ask you to prioritize me above her."

Lilliana nudged her waist from the rear, urging her to curb her arrogance.

Holding back would only harm their position.

Challenging a figure like Rex with pride and fury was unwise.

The sole way to sway a fierce, powerful being like him lay in a gentle approach.

And that's precisely what she had advised Princess Davina prior to their arrival.

Princess Davina nibbled her lower lip and averted her gaze. "Please? I'm still your betrothed. And I'm requesting—no, pleading for you to leave her behind. Anything she offers, I can deliver far superior and in abundance. Just grant me this, and I'll demonstrate it."

Rex tsked and rested both hands on his hips in thought.

Merely hours earlier, he had acknowledged April's place in his life.

And now, he faced demands to cast her aside once more.

It felt as if fate delighted in his turmoil.

"He's pondering," Lilliana linked her arm with Princess Davina's and murmured. "Didn't I warn you against letting him mull it over? Approach and make contact or something. Post-full moon, werewolves drain both body and mind."

"Sister, I've never laid hands on a man," Princess Davina whispered back in protest. "What makes you think I can manage that?"

Suddenly, Rex stood tall.

"Fine," He declared, startling the sisters. He faced them fully. "Fine, I'll agree."

"You're truly committing?" Lilliana probed, caught off guard.

"Yes." Rex shrugged and resumed his path to the medical pool's emerald shimmer. "Now, if you'll pardon me. I was unwinding until a pair of sisters intruded without warning." He immersed himself in the hot water up to his lower abs. "Occupy yourselves elsewhere if you're not joining."

Rex reclined against the far wall, resuming his prior stance.

His form truly craved this respite.

Yet his head jerked up at the splash of entering water.

Given their purposeful visit, he assumed the sisters would depart to handle the surrounding disorder. But apparently not. Across from him, Princess Davina sank in until the liquid lapped at her chin.

Her garments lay discarded on the floor, indicating her nudity.

"Aren't you meant to be royalty?" Rex lifted a brow.

"Indeed, and sharing a soak with my intended poses no issue," She shot back firmly.

Rex averted his gaze from her and locked onto Lilliana.

A towel crafted from her vital essence served as her only shield—a thin, adhesive layer across her torso. It scarcely covered from her ample chest to her upper thighs, exposing the rest of her figure in the dim illumination.

Contrasting Princess Davina's lean build, she boasted fuller contours.

Perhaps due to her marital status.

Their stares connected as she eased her slender leg into the pool to test its warmth.

"Eyes ahead," Princess Davina's command yanked him from his daze.

Lilliana laughed softly, her expression revealing satisfaction at momentarily captivating Rex.

Rex cleared his throat and submerged deeper into the water.

Beyond that, the Blood Moon's lingering effects left him exposed both bodily and emotionally at present. His frame ached for recovery, stirring a longing for the Luna's presence. With Evelyn absent, frustration gnawed at him.

"So, share details on your empire, Rex," Lilliana prompted, then amended. "May I address you as Rex?"

It was an overt, husky provocation. Lilliana overused his name, stretching it in a pitch above her usual, drawing it out like a lingering breath. Every utterance acted as an intentional, seductive lure.

Rex glanced at Princess Davina and noted her utter unawareness of the flirtation.

Only then did he comprehend Lilliana's boldness.

Princess Davina remained far too naive in these matters.

"Call me whatever suits you," Rex dismissed with a shrug, but instantly regretted it as Lilliana's gaze toyed with his words. "Ahem... My domain governs several racial realms, making it the mightiest force across the land."

"How dull," Lilliana waved it off. "Speak of your spouses. How many exist? Any offspring? And do concubines fill your court?"

Rex simulated a cough upon hearing the barrage of inquiries.

"I doubt you'd care to hear—" He halted, noticing Princess Davina's keen interest. She leaned in, eyes alight with intrigue. "No official unions, but say there are three. Four, if pressed. No kids yet. Actually, one is forthcoming. And no concubines."

"Oh... That's surprisingly sparse," Princess Davina whispered, clearly delighted by the response.

"Only one child?" Lilliana scoffed skeptically. "A figure like you with just one? Hard to believe."

"And you?" Rex fixed her with a piercing look. "How many children? Does your spouse approve of you baring yourself before another male?"

"Four offspring. Before you, outsider conqueror, pass judgment, that's scant for my years," Lilliana replied, as she dampened and combed her hair with the healing liquid. "And my husband likely despises me for aligning with you, so it hardly signifies."

"Tough break for the husband," Rex mocked, still watching her intently.

Lilliana arched a brow, evidently irked by his remark, yet she brushed it aside.

Instead, she oriented toward him.

"Why inquire?" She propped her elbow on the rim, lifting her form slightly to nearly reveal her inviting left breast, then rested her cheek on her fist. "Assessing my availability? At a mere three centuries, I'm plenty able to bear you one or two."

"One or two of what?" Rex's breathing grew labored.

His chest heaved more than usual, as if air escaped him.

"Kids, naturally," A refined yet mocking grin curved her lips. She then illuminated her hand beneath the surface for Rex to glimpse from above and teasingly circled her index finger just below her belly button. "I'm highly fertile."

Crash—!

Suddenly, a cavern wall some ten meters away collapsed.

Rex and Lilliana whipped toward Princess Davina, spotting her flushed crimson face.

"Did you forget my presence? Cease the flirting!"
