The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1809: Rider of Anarchy

Previously on The Invincible Full-Moon System...
Rex howled defiantly against Emperor Dominar's suppression in the heart of the enemy stronghold, unleashing strands of pure voidal energy that summoned a massive Voidal Prince serpent from the shadows. Chaos erupted as Linthia's banshee scream shattered the nobles' defenses and eardrums, allowing her to steal keys for the prisoners and fiercely battle the royal knights, phasing through them with dark essence to disable three foes. Under the Blood Moon's blessing, Rex shattered his bindings and transformed into a towering, horned werewolf form, his royal roar eclipsing all life energy in the area and forcing the emperor to summon his thorny crown for protection amid the crumbling rooftop.

Rex positioned himself in front of a denser veil of shadow.

He seemed solitary there. At least, that's how it appeared, though he truly wasn't.

Concealed behind him amid the twisting dark vapors of the Black Rift lurked numerous shadowy forms. Shade Crawlers. They all positioned themselves at his back. Vigilant. Prepared. Any creature daring to touch Rex would get ripped apart.

And at this moment, their vigilance burned fiercer than usual.

The reason lay in the threat confronting them now.

"New monarch," Rex shouted into the emptiness, his eyes shining with red light. "I’ve come to bargain."

Silence greeted him.

As if absolute nothingness stretched beyond the gloom.

Yet the System indicated differently.

Rex reached out his arm and conjured a dazzling purple glow in his palm. It crackled with violet bolts. Irresistibly alluring, it stirred the Black Rift to whirl like swirling mist around it. The enticing aroma wafting from it could reach noses across ten miles.

Undoubtedly, everything in that range would feel drawn to it.

This was the Crown Embryo he'd bought for 500 million gold.

Expensive, yet it promised great value.

And just as anticipated, the instant the Crown Embryo materialized, a set of enormous eyes emerged.

But Rex's attention fixed on a different set of eyes, smaller in size.

A set he recognized as the White Mask's.

"Join me, and I’ll give you this," Rex declared clearly so the White Mask could hear. "I’m sure with this, your monarchy would be more established—and the other two Voidal Monarchs nearby wouldn’t be able to bully you."

"What... do... you... want?" the White Mask inquired in a spectral tone.

A voice that shook the soul.

"Just a bit of fun," Rex smirked wickedly. "Help me destroy an empire, and this will be yours."

Beneath the hypnotic allure of the Crown Embryo's scent, the White Mask gave a nod.

As long as he obtained the Crown Embryo, nothing else held importance.

...

That's how Rex succeeded in persuading the White Mask to aid him.

However, swaying the monarch wasn't sufficient on its own.

He requested the monarch to appoint him as a Voidal Prince. Wild as it sounded, he required the surge in power. If only temporarily. The gigantic serpent protested with sharp hisses—but the White Mask struck it aside, drawing a victorious grin from Rex.

Naturally, the System might step in.

Turning into a Voidal Prince basically meant joining the White Mask’s lineage.

It would signify forsaking his pack.

He'd already devised an alternative to harness the White Mask’s strength, but fortune favored him this time.

Finally, something fell into place for him.

His Sable Physique passive ability, acquired by absorbing the Matter of Monarch, let him embrace the White Mask’s power without shifting his race to a voidal beast. Moreover, Rex could now banish the White Mask’s power whenever he chose.

Ideal.

Merely considering a pact with a voidal monarch bordered on madness.

And embracing its power pushed past that boundary, yet Rex’s form was primed for this risky move.

...

<Notice: the Matter of Monarch has transformed into the Monarch of Savage Darkness.>

<Monarch of Savage Darkness>

All of the user’s physical stats and spiritual points are exponentially enhanced while residing within the Black Rift. The user also gained several abilities associated with summoned creatures. The summoning of savage creatures, up to one thousand creatures, which are manifestations of the user’s innate nature. Fusion with the savage creatures. And also exchange places with them.

...

This power didn't catch Rex off guard.

He'd witnessed the White Mask's capabilities before, so he'd anticipated as much.

But the real shock hit him when he sensed a faint bond with Kraken.

Evidently, Kraken originated from the White Mask.

More precisely, his mother had emerged from the White Mask.

Startling though it was, he lacked the moment to ponder it now.

The bodily boost, which at minimum doubled his might, paled against his main goal: a mental channel to the monarch. As soon as Rex's idea raced through that connection, the monarch complied. It surged upward from the abyss.

In its rising surge, half the surface world fractured, including the structure under their feet.

Rex realized he required assistance, and the White Mask proved the ideal partner.

A Voidal Monarch, while clever, remained direct in nature.

Provided he offered something the monarch desired, such an agreement could form.

Desperate circumstances demanded bold measures. Rex understood this and plunged forward without pause. Still, the White Mask alone couldn't fully dismantle the empire. After all, Emperor Dominar possessed the skill to hold the monarch at bay and redirect the conflict.

Rex sought an even mightier force.

Maybe a more potent alliance, and one immediately sprang to mind.

<Notice: Berserk stat is rising rapidly!>

"This is nothing personal, Your Majesty! I so happen to want to destroy your empire!" Rex bellowed from overhead, stamping down on the Voidal Prince like mounting a steed. It served as the cue to soar higher. His tongue pushed against his cheek while spit flew from his lips. The Blood Moon started eroding his thoughts, pulling him toward full berserk fury.

Swoosh—!

Within the serpent's gut, the White Mask pulsed with energy.

He channeled extra voidal force into his princes.

With that infusion, the serpent’s colossal frame started climbing.

It coiled upward like a draconic beast, shocking all who beheld this horror.

Everyone froze in disbelief at the sight.

"He... He’s crazy!"

For the first time, Emperor Dominar showed raw terror. Dread filled him. He instantly grasped Rex's scheme and summoned his utmost strength without delay. His complete Primordial Spirit might exploded outward.

And the Reap and Sow Echo activated at maximum.

His power surged, demolishing the structure and the city across a five-mile span, then expanding further.

At present, he couldn't worry over the side effects. He had to pursue and block Rex.

"He’s pitting us with the Skillian Divine Court!!" Emperor Dominar bellowed as he took to the air. With a wave of his hand, the silver bands restraining the nobles broke apart. "Stop him right now! Don’t let him reach the Sky People!"

"What?"

"Is he insane?!"

"He’s going to pit us against the Sky People?! The Gatekeepers. The Elders. That’ll be the end of us!"

That had been Rex’s scheme from the start.

Dragging in the White Mask would spark brief havoc in the empire, not complete ruin. To absolutely obliterate it, what finer method than compelling the empire to clash with the sole faction it dared not challenge?

Rex’s gaze gleamed with wild disorder as his blood raced in thrill from the turmoil.

He dug his claws into the serpent, his makeshift sibling, while it twisted upward with agility.

"Come on, monster brother. Make some noise! Let’s make sure the whole world knows what we’re doing!"

HISS—!

"Look alive, Devo! I’m coming in hot for you, bastard!"

...

Meanwhile, inside the crumbling structure, the disorder intensified.

Althea snatched the keys from Liliana using her mouth and broke free from the restraints.

She'd observed Rex's aura erupt in savage fury moments ago as he shifted to werewolf shape. It seemed agonizing, but she pushed thoughts of him aside for now. Her head swirled in confusion. She slammed her palms onto the marble ground, steadying herself amid the falling debris.

One goal burned in her mind.

But first, her gaze landed on Amanir, still chained in place.

He stared back at her. Stunned to find her unbound.

Without much thought, Althea flung the keys his way, then quickly assessed the scene. Numerous nobles had reclaimed their abilities. Some overpowered Linthia, while others attempted to pursue Rex.

This marked her initial glimpse of these elite nobles displaying such frantic looks.

Shadows blocked their path to aid the emperor. She knew what they were. Shade Crawlers.

Something massive unfolded overhead, but she refused to glance up. Her skull pounded from the prior torment and restraint. Though captured only briefly, it had altered her. It had shifted something deep within.

A heated exhale slipped from her mouth as rain began to fall.

Not ordinary drops. But a Black Rain.

Althea had no clue why the Sky People permitted a Black Rain directly over the royal bubble, but it didn't matter. Her focus locked on a form struggling against a Shade Crawler. Drola—her mother.

Not distant from Drola stood her spouse. They faced the same peril.

Clang!

A pristine blade dropped within her grasp. It came from one of the royal guards.

He'd been hurled through the air after Linthia, fueled by mysterious vigor, batted him aside.

Lightning ripped across the heavens like a coiling serpent, booming with thunder.

Her ears buzzed, causing her to falter. Yet her resolve stood unyielding.

She seized the sword and lunged ahead.

Meanwhile, Amanir staggered toward the Soul Crusher and grasped for April. He inwardly damned Rex for unleashing this mayhem, overlooking April's presence. But truthfully, with the Blood Moon looming overhead, he couldn't fault him entirely.

At least every eye now turned his way.

April remained fastened to the device.

Amanir had no clue how to release her from it, but he'd attempt it.

"What is Rex doing?" She questioned in a faint tone.

"You’re asking the hardest question," Amanir replied as he desperately tapped the machine’s clamps with his ears, easing their hold on April. It was loosening. "I would never guess what that lunatic would do. Let’s hope he didn’t go overboard for now."

After freeing April, the remnants of the building listed sharply.

Deafening fractures rang out. Strong enough to drown the heavenly clamor.

"Come on, we have to get out of here!" Amanir tugged her arm, ready to take flight.

"No, wait!" Her sight snagged on her parents. "I can’t leave yet."

...

Far off from the structure, just beyond the royal bubble’s edge.

A fierce skirmish raged on.

Princess Davina had successfully drawn the nobles into her prepared ambush, reigniting the conflict between the groups. But their fight halted abruptly. She glared at the fracturing heavens with a clear scowl. Her eyes, now blood-red, fixed on a specific beast.

She watched a serpent punch through the royal bubble’s roof effortlessly.

It ascended at astonishing velocity.

A stream of ebony sinew scorned gravity's laws. Its armored form brimmed with potent voidal essence. From the serpent’s sides, twin streams of reverse-light extended like twisted roots from an abyssal world-tree.

Each raced upward at blistering hypersonic pace.

Waves of concussion quaked the firmament as they merged into one catastrophic ray of nothingness.

The ray skimmed by the majestic, celestial designs of the Sky People. It spared the fragile towers and glassy spans. Rather, it sliced beyond their sacred constructs—a dismissive evasion as it pierced the upper reaches.

Far aloft, where the air thinned, the ray detonated.

It shook the globe. Unleashing a blast that bore down like a gale.

From the explosion's core, dark clouds spewed out, spreading with horrifying swiftness. They eclipsed the stars and celestial glow. Still, at the storm's heart, one opening persisted. Through it, the Blood Moon pierced through. A sinister, scarlet orb.

Black Rain commenced.

Falling shades of fluid hush that submerged the ground below and amplified voidal force.

It fell short of flawlessness, but it sufficed to cast an eerie obscurity.

Princess Davina’s eyes tightened on the serpent. Amid this apocalyptic vista and the pounding purple bolts that flashed without cease, she spotted a presence. Each brilliant, violet flash etched the tableau in pulsing sharpness.

It highlighted the rider atop the serpent’s skull.

Atop the behemoth’s crest sat a form.

Humanoid in outline. A shaggy fiend. An outline of feral might that thrived beneath the Blood Moon. He guided the climb not merely riding, but as a triumphant invader. One claw embedded in the serpent’s flesh like clutching the bridle of turmoil, the other flung wide.

His visage tilted toward the Blood Moon’s stare.

His lips curled in a smile of utter, rapturous ruin.

His tongue dangled like a hound in heated pursuit.

And from his eye pits, infernal crimson radiance burned. Twin sparks of spite echoing the Blood Moon overhead. A crimson aura roiled from his frame. Princess Davina shook her head in futile exasperation, "So this is why he’s not talking to me. This is irritating."
