Vrakul encountered an unknown powerful creature and was forced to request aid from Purple Reaper. Meanwhile, the protagonist, Onyx, and Sithrik engaged the Warlord in a brutal, drawn-out battle. Despite heavy injuries, Onyx and the protagonist's combined efforts, with Sithrik's support, finally allowed them to defeat the Warlord, whose death was felt by all Drakoshi.

The Drakoshi knew without question one of their Warlords had died. They could feel it in their biology. Their boost had diminished to only that which the new-born Warlord was giving them.

As a result, the battle’s rhythm began to change. Some, mostly Emoth, had begun to lower their ranged weapons and begin their headlong charges with melee weapons once more. While others, after the initial shock, and the boost still in effect from Warlord Kragg were still fighting as they were. They were in the thick of it. There was no use in thinking about it.

But Kragg was. This was not ideal. The only reason he went on with a headlong charge at Amberrock was because of Vrakul’s presence. Now it was a whole ordeal. He would be able to retreat. Regroup. That wasn’t an issue.

The issue was doing it while maintaining the standing he now found himself in. He couldn’t just retreat. He had to call for a strategic withdrawal of his troops. Blame the loss on Vrakul and from there he could-

*THUD BOOM!*

Suddenly a shockwave created from something impacting in front of him. As it did, the elites he was fighting backed away. Even the mech he had been close to dismantling had backed away and dispersed elsewhere amidst the battlefield.

It didn’t matter, whatever it was, Kragg could deal... With... It?

His thoughts lost confidence mid way as he looked at the being before him.

It was Human? It looked human, body wise, but it was fifteen feet tall and did not look like the other chassis of the humans. It was black all over. The armour seemed form fitting and hummed along accents with a red bloody glow.

Its helmet had a black plumage, something Kragg didn’t understand the significance of, but while he could not see the actual eyes of whatever was behind the helmet, the red eye slits emanated an emotion Kragg did understand.

Hate.

It made sense humans hated his species. But this? This was something else. This was pure hate. Hate for everything. Kragg felt his heart beat faster being in its presence. However, he felt fear upon seeing what was in the human’s hand after the dust had settled.

A blood red sword, thrumming with an unnatural hunger.

Kragg knew that sword. All Drakoshi in this Galaxy knew that sword. It was the sword that had defeated Gazik the undefeated. And its wielder was none other than...

’The Human king...’

Kragg took a step back in his mech without even realising, at which point the King took a combat stance. As it did, the sword’s hilt elongated and the King took it in both hands and before Kragg could even react, the king rushed at him faster than any human he ever saw!

Driven by pure reflex, Kragg attempted to defend himself, both of his mechs arms blocking out before him, but it cut through the metal his mech was made of like a hot knife through foam.

And the attacks didn’t stop. Kragg was put on the backfoot immediately. Overwhelmed by a flurry of attacks before a sword strike crashed its way through his cockpit and severed his arm clean off.

"Aahhhh! Kragg screamed in agony. But focused his regeneration towards his arm. Only to realise something and dread overcame him. He couldn’t regenerate. It was like he never had an arm to begin with.

"Screw this! I am not dying on this rock!" Kragg screamed as his danger sense was all he could feel, overwhelming his senses.

Crashing down hard with his remaining arm, he pushed a button that set his mechs power system to self detonate while a series of still, thankfully, operative jets propelled his cockpit out of his mech at well over the speed of sound, sending him flying hundreds of miles away from the battlefield.

...

Sigismund looked at the mech and shouted, his voice sounding demonic in his war gear. "Spartari forces. Down!"

He then charged at the forty foot mech once more and grabbed one of its legs and began spinning the thing like it weighed nothing to gain momentum before hurling it as far as he could.

He then activated a shield on his left forearm just in time as the mech exploded, sending a shockwave in all directions. The blast was close enough to cause serious injury. Fortunately, he had relied on the ’help’ to keep the fort safe.

Two Dozen Praetorians had dropped not long after he did and began setting up defensive shields as he did. Saving thousands from a gruesome fate.

He didn’t linger long in idleness though. He looked around for the second Warlord, but couldn’t see it. That was fine for now. He would kill it later. For now though, Doom bringer thirsted in his hands and considering THE FUCKING INSANE AMOUNT OF PEACE SHIT HE HAD TO DEAL WITH RECENTLY!!

*TSSK*

His helmet sprayed his new favourite formula into his helmet, sensing his rage spike, but on a battlefield it did not do much.

So, after having to deal with peace talks and boring political shit with the pussy nobles. He was going to let his alien blade let loose and sate its thirst. Because he also really, really needed to kill some aliens or no amount of doses of his inhaler will sate him.

...

Less than thirty minutes later the battlefield was silent as it could be. Gunfire ceased, but the sound of the brave Soldiers dying in the trenches, crying out for aid, kept Sigismund from relaxing.

He looked out over the battlefield. This was a costly war. Millions of humans had perished holding this point, awaiting his aid.

If only he was stronger. If only he was able to be everywhere at once. Then he wouldn’t have needed to wait on Ecumenopolis 1 while he waited for laws to pass. Waited for the phony peace councils the nobles tortured him with after he had already done a deal with that disgusting Seer...

His grip tightened on doom bringer’s hilt as he looked at the sea of corpses. More human than Drakoshi...

’If only aliens didn’t exist. The universe would be a better place without them...’

Sigismund then sighed. He could hear people rustling behind him. Too scared to speak to him. He understood. He was quite the sight at this moment. His black armour was caked red. Intentionally as he lost himself in the glorious culling he indulged in.

Taking a couple large breaths he turned around and smiled, surprised by who he was seeing.

"It must be my lucky year. Seeing all you Hyllus women is such a welcome surprise. Hello Serena."

Sigismund watched as Serena’s shoulders visibly let go of their tension at his good mood and she smiled up at him. "My King. You look in good spirits. I must thank you on behalf of the local forces for your timely intervention. The appearance of not one, but two Warlords really turned the balance of power there for a moment."

Sigismund looked around after Serena said that. "Speaking of. Where is that second Warlord? I am still aggrieved that my kill slipped my blade."

Serena looked north and Sigismund traced her gaze as she began to speak. "We believe that Sentinel Apollo distracted the Warlord before the battle. A while ago there was an explosion... Nuclear in size. We have heard nothing since."

Sigismund took that news and his gaze remained fixed at the horizon. ’This is... Not ideal.’ He thought. Apollo was key to Spartari’s future. With him gone, he had to fall back to weaker heirs. He did have a few options, especially considering his old friend was alive and much more youthful now...

However, he was distracted by Thespius, the Praetorians leader suddenly shouting in aggravation, "Rhapso! Get back here! Nerissa!"

Sigismund then turned towards the commotion and watched as two Praetorians began making their way across the battlefield. Guessing their trajectory, he looked over yonder only for his eyes to go wide.

"Is that? HAHAHA! You worry for nothing, Serena. The Boy lives. Though he looks like shit." Sigismund declared as he watched Apollo limp his way over. His armour was practically threads of metal at this point and his body looked broken. Limbs bent in wrong angles. His right arm was hanging by the joint and he was covered in a mix of dry and wet blood.

Escaping a Warlord alive usually left people in a worse state, so to see the young man still able to walk left Sigismund elated about the boy’s future. However, his delight soon turned into shock as he spotted something in the youth’s hand.

Sigismund instantly took off his helmet to trust his own eyes and not just the heads up display in his helmet and sure enough, the size was telling.

Apollo was carrying a Warlord’s head in his hand.

Others also began to notice and as the two Praetorians reached the lad, he collapsed into them like he knew his fight was done...
