Apollo escapes Vrakul by diving into a hole, which Vrakul then collapses. The resulting antimatter bomb explosion devastates the landscape, leaving a massive crater. Meanwhile, Serena directs her forces against an enemy mech. Apollo and his companions emerge from the rubble to find a heavily damaged but still standing Warlord, prompting Apollo to prepare for a direct fight.

Vrakul went to laugh at the sorry attempt at diversion from the human before him and was about to proceed forward to finish this once and for all, but instead he dodged to the side at the last possible moment as his reflex took over.

Though that last moment was not without its consequence as a large object pierced through the exposed ribs on his left side.

Turning around to face the threat, Vrakul’s one good eye went wide in shock.

Before him and approaching him at high speed was a creature. Fifteen feet tall, shorter than he was, with four arms, two that were sword like appendages and the other two had sharpened claws at the end.

Vrakul dodged backwards in an attempt to make some distance, but the creature wasn’t letting up. Its body was agile and he had to dodge a spike that it fired from its tail.

He was on the backfoot immediately, but he wouldn’t be A queens chosen if he faltered so easily.

Dodging to the right, he faked a follow up blow towards the unknown creature before smashing his fist into the ground after it evaded. Within a second, he picked up a large chunk of rock into his hand and took a stance with his makeshift club.

With the slight distance between them now and the chance to think, Vrakul looked at the creature before him and his eyes went wide.

Immediately, he began looking around for signs of Quirk anomalies. Spatial tears. Anything, but after a few moments of nothing happening, his confusion was apparent.

’Is it not one of the strangling’s hosts? But its body is...’

He paused his thought as he spotted Purple reaper flanking him. He couldn’t identify the creature before him, he wasn’t even sure if it was one of the great enemies forms, but it sure looked like it, so he lowered his pride and asked.

"Purple Reaper. Our battle is meaningless. We must face this foe together if we are to beat it. Its very presence brings ruin to your galaxy. Kill it before it can relay its location to its brain."

...

I raised my hand cannon up towards The Warlord and flashed a smirk under my helmet. "I told you. That’s my wife."

I then fired my gun. The big bastard was injured beyond belief, but he was still fast, able to dodge my shot, but not Onyx. She attacked the microsecond I took my shot and she began releasing a flurry of blows against the warlord.

I didn’t sit idly by, nor did Sithrik. I began to position myself around the Warlord and began firing my gun and my Pyrokinesis towards him.

Sithrik did the same. Her new form had elevated her ability to use her own Pyrokinesis as she began lobbing beautiful blue flames towards the Warlord. Her own Psionics compared to my own had a lingering effect for a few moments that continued to burn when they made contact with the Warlord, but the pain was barely noticed as it was locked in a series of blows against Onyx.

I was actually surprised at how well it was still holding up. Onyx was a monster. She had taken out entire planets on her own. So for this injured thing to stand against her... It was pissing me royally off.

Charging ahead I pulled out Zircon and bided my time. The Warlord committed to an attack against Onyx after she overextended her body.

I then proceeded to come up on the Warlords rear and slashed out at his ankle. Zircon dug in deep, her fuller turning red as she sucked the blood out of the wound. I did not wait around though and dashed away. Where I was just standing a large foot stomped down attempting to squash me.

I simply turned around and fired my hand cannon at his foot. Dealing additional damage.

But not enough.

The tactic continued for a while over and over. I charged in, struck, charged out. The Warlord clearly wanted to deal with me. Getting aggravated with each wound to its leg, but if it tried to fight me. Onyx would find an opening. Either jamming her swords into flesh of rending and gashing with her claws.

Onyx was the anvil, I was the itty bitty hammer and the Warlord was one relentless piece of steel that was not breaking... But it would.

Firing off another entire cylinder into the Warlord’s back, exposing its spine, I must have hit the ceiling of its rage as it roared, turning around. It ignored a large slash along its back that Onyx delivered and charged at me.

I had not expected this at this moment and was caught unprepared, so I acted on reflex.

I dodged backwards while letting out a miniature sun. My visor was closed to block the effects as I felt a large boulder make contact with my chest. Sending me shooting through the air like I was a ball being struck with a bat.

*ROAAAAR*

The Drakoshi roared and by the time I opened up my helmet to spit out blood, I saw Onyx, her mandibles fully opened, biting into the fuckers Jugular. The Warlord began struggling for a grip on Onyx and found it, ripping her off and throwing her to the floor.

However, that did not come without a coast as she tore away so much meat. Blood began to pour forth from the Warlord. But it didn’t seem to care as it got atop Onyx and began pummelling over and over and over.

Onyx managed to get both her spears into the Warlord’s stomach, pinning it in place, but he just kept punching with everything it had.

Onyx’s haemolymph began to pour out of her head, her exo-plating not doing as good a job at absorbing the bludgeoning. My body almost became encompassed in rage upon seeing that and I almost lost my rationality, but I had to remain calm.

Running over I commanded Sithrik through our link and ordered her to continue throwing fire at its arms. She did so immediately with spectacular accuracy, the blue flamers were powerful and were chewing through his muscles slowly but surely, making each blow at least a little bit weaker.

I proceeded onto the Warlords back. It tried to wiggle me off, but Onyx’s claws dug into the warlord’s chest, gripping his flesh like a bag handle.

I positioned myself at the opening where his spine was showing and raised Zircon high in both hands before shoving her down with all the Gyrokinetic force I could muster. The snapping noise as she made contact with his spine sounded like an explosion itself, but I wasn’t done.

I stabbed and stabbed and stabbed and stabbed and stabbed.

The Warlords Punches became slower and slower, but I did not relent.

I stabbed, stabbed, stabbed, slashed, hacked, slashed.

The spinal cord then twanged in half and I felt the warlord’s legs give out, but I was not done. I dove into the wound head first and just ignited myself with flame. My whole body began to flail and punch wildly as the howls of the warlord only spurred me on.

I kept on going and going until I felt the warlord’s Gravity shift. I immediately pulled myself out and stopped wrecking the Warlords guts and prepared for further combat, but Onyx was now standing, on guard. One of her eyes was missing, but she still looked rather chipper as she pointed with her damaged sword arm towards the Warlords face.

The Bastard was still breathing. Even after all of that. But I could see the look on its face. It wasn’t recovering. It was dying.

Walking towards it, My stupid ribs were killing me again as the adrenaline began to fade from my body.

The Warlord’s eye trailed me as I walked beside it. It still looked ready to fight, but its own body had betrayed it. It was bleeding from everywhere, especially the wound on its neck. Burns and scorch marks taking over whatever else was left. Honestly, I was still shocked after everything it still had blood to pump, but it did.

Taking up Zircon, I positioned her across the Warlord’s neck to get my aim before raising her above my head. I then looked the Warlord directly in the eye and declared.

"This is what happens when you fuck with the wrong human."

...

The battle at Amberrock was a bloodbath for both sides. The Drakoshi had managed to breach the walls on one side of the fort while the other side still held resolutely with trenches still holding the line The conflicting assaults made casualties rocket on both sides.

Kragg had been in combat with the Human elites for hours, a stalemate. His armour had taken considerable damage, but still fully operational.

Just as he was debating how long it would be until Vrakul returned. He felt a chill go down his spine. Not out of cold or fear, but biology.

Not only did he feel it. Every Drakoshi present felt it. On reflex, every Drakoshi turned towards the direction of where the Mushroom cloud was hours ago, causing countless Drakoshi lives in the process as a result and fear took root in every single one of them.

A Warlord had been killed.
