"Guys, I'm back."

Ayakami greeted her friends, who were casually chatting in front of four tents.

There were five of them in total: two women and three men.

When they saw Ayakami come back, they smiled.

But their smiles quickly disappeared when they noticed Nolan standing beside her.

A tall, red-haired man with a stern expression stood up and asked in a gentle tone, "Where have you been? Do you know how worried we were about you?"

From the moment he stood up, he didn't even look at Nolan, as if he didn't exist.

Nolan noticed his attitude but remained indifferent, completely unaffected by it.

"I went to the northern part of the forest to look for clues about the monster our instructor mentioned. Oh, right."

Ayakami turned toward Nolan and introduced him.

The tall man and the others were taken aback.

"Is he related to Her Highness Sharon?" the tall man asked with a puzzled expression.

"No, I'm not related to Sharon Lorian. I just happen to have the same name as her."

The moment he mentioned "Sharon Lorian," everyone's expressions darkened.

"What a rude guy," one of the girls whispered from the back.

The tall man frowned but quickly regained his composure.

"I see."

He stepped forward and extended his right hand.

"My name is Mike, the leader of Group B. Nice to meet you."

Mike had a tall and muscular build. Nolan, however, was half a head taller than him.

Nolan smiled and accepted his handshake.

"Nice to meet you."

A surge of mana suddenly flowed from Mike's hand into Nolan's body.

Nolan raised an eyebrow slightly as he stared at Mike's trembling hand.

"Is this guy trying to test me?" he chuckled inwardly.

He hadn't expected something this ridiculous to happen to him, the Singularity of Chaos.

But since this damn kid wanted to mess with him, Nolan didn't mind playing along.

A stronger surge of mana suddenly erupted from Nolan's hand and flowed into Mike's body.

The confident smile on Mike's face instantly froze.

He cried out in pain and tried to pull his hand away from Nolan's grip, but he couldn't.

"Let me go!" Mike shouted desperately.

But she had no proof, so she said nothing.

After his friends helped him to his feet, Mike took a few steps back, seemingly trying to put some distance between himself and Nolan.

The others found his behavior strange, but they didn't ask any questions. Instead, they continued introducing themselves to Nolan.

Fortunately, none of them tried anything like Mike had, so Nolan was able to remain relaxed.

"Nolan, why are you in this forest? Did something happen to you?"

A girl with short blue hair asked curiously.

Nolan smiled at her. Her name was Mary, and she seemed like a typical sweet girl.

"I don't remember anything. When I woke up, I was already in this forest."

Everyone except Ayakami was surprised to hear this.

"Were you kidnapped?"

Another girl with shoulder-length purple hair and an oval-shaped face asked cautiously.

Her name was Keyn.

Nolan shook his head.

"I don't know. But it's possible."

"That's so sad…" Keyn whispered, her expression turning sympathetic.

The other two men, Tony and Kleith, exchanged meaningful glances, but neither of them asked any questions.

"By the way, Nolan will be staying with us until the test is over."

"What!?" Mike's eyes widened in shock.

Without hesitation, he immediately refused.

"No, that's out of the question!"

He glared at Nolan with clear hostility.

"We don't know him. Who knows? Maybe he's a bad guy. If that's the case, are you willing to take responsibility?"

Tony, Kleith, Keyn, and Mary exchanged hesitant glances. None of them openly agreed with Mike.

However, their silence could almost be taken as silent support.

Nolan said nothing. He simply looked calmly at Ayakami beside him.

He wanted to see what decision she would make.

"I'll take responsibility!" Ayakami said without hesitation.

Everyone was stunned and stared at her in disbelief.

"Ayakami!"

Mike gritted his teeth and was about to say something, but Ayakami's piercing gaze made the words die in his throat.

"Damn it!"

He kicked a rock in front of him before turning around and storming into his tent.

Kleith and Troy immediately followed him to calm him down.

"I'll prepare dinner."

Keyn quickly turned and walked away.

"I-I'll go look for some firewood!"

Mary followed suit, leaving Nolan and Ayakami alone.

"It seems I've made things awkward for your group," Nolan chuckled.

Ayakami shook her head.

"Everything will be fine. Don't worry. What's more important right now is figuring out where you're going to sleep tonight. We don't have any extra tents."

Nolan waved his hand and turned to leave.

"Thanks for your concern, but I've already thought of something."

Ayakami tilted her head in confusion.

She wanted to ask what he meant, but Nolan had already walked away.

Ayakami's group sat in a circle around the campfire. They chatted casually, but their gazes occasionally drifted toward Nolan, who was sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed.

"What's he doing?" Keyn asked curiously.

"I don't know."

Mary shook her head.

"Maybe he's absorbing mana at night? I heard from my Master that the purest natural energy can be found at night and in the early morning."

"Pfft! You're overthinking it," Mike suddenly sneered.

He took a sip of his beer and stared coldly at Nolan from a distance.

"Maybe he's just pretending."

Keyn and Mary pursed their lips and didn't dare say anything else.

"All right, let's not talk about Nolan anymore," Ayakami interjected coldly. "We need to focus on how to defeat that monster before the other teams do. I don't want us to lose. That would be incredibly embarrassing."

Everyone's expressions turned serious. Their casual attitude disappeared as they began discussing how to deal with the monster.

Meanwhile, Nolan remained seated with his eyes closed.

A few minutes later, he let out a deep breath and opened his purple eyes.

Earlier, he had thought that his power would be completely sealed, but it turned out that wasn't the case.

He could unlock it little by little. It was a bit annoying, but it was far better than having nothing at all.

Nolan stood up and was about to ask Ayakami for something to eat when a growl suddenly came from behind him.

He turned his head and stared into the darkness.
