Cedric reveals his plan to let Elina find the Crescent Moon Swordsman's granddaughter, only for him to steal her away, boasting of a hidden trump card. Meanwhile, Elina searches for clues in Ruigard City, visiting a lively tavern. After failing to find information, she is approached by a waitress who offers discreet, illicit services, including finding missing people and even murder, revealing she finds Elina suspicious.

"Come in, don't be shy."

The waitress invited Elina into a hidden room behind the tavern.

As Elina stepped inside, she looked around curiously. The room looked like a simple living room.

"Are you sure this is the place?"

"Why?" The waitress gave a faint smile. "Is it not what you expected?"

Elina didn't hide her thoughts.

"Exactly. I thought the room would be luxurious or packed with people coming and going, just like in the books."

The woman laughed.

"Every service has its own unique charm. And this is us—we like to keep things simple without being too flashy."

Elina simply smiled.

She sat down on the sofa in the middle of the room while the woman briefly stepped away to call someone who was supposedly the owner of the tavern.

Not long after, a thin, middle-aged man appeared alongside the woman.

He wore glasses without lenses, and his friendly face made him seem quite approachable.

"So, you're our new customer. Nice to meet you. My name is Kral, and I'm the owner of this place."

Kral extended his right hand toward her.

Elina stood up and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Kral. I'm… Melissa, a traveler from the Southern Region."

"Melissa?" Kral raised his eyebrows slightly. A hint of suspicion flashed across his face, but he quickly concealed it and said nothing.

"So, what can I do for you?" he asked as he sat down across from her.

The waitress arrived with two cups of tea, placed them on the table, then walked behind Kral and stood quietly there.

Elina sat up straight and replied cautiously, "I'm looking for someone. She's a five-year-old girl who was kidnapped by slave traders."

"Oh? That's a rare case. I thought you wanted to hire a killer." Kral smiled faintly. He took a sip of his tea before continuing, "That shouldn't be too difficult. Tell me what she looks like."

Elina then described the granddaughter of the Crescent Moon Swordsman to Kral.

Kral's calm expression shifted slightly as he listened.

"Wait…" His eyes narrowed slightly. "Could the missing girl be the granddaughter of the Crescent Moon Swordsman?"

Elina was stunned.

"How did you know?"

"We took on the same job ten years ago," the waitress replied with a casual smile. "And her description matches exactly what you just described."

Elina fell silent. It seemed the swordsman had used their services as well.

"Did you manage to find her?"

"No."

Kral's answer made Elina's heart sink.

Had all her efforts been in vain?

"But that doesn't mean we couldn't find any clues."

Kral's next words caught her by surprise.

"What do you mean?"

Kral took another sip of his tea before explaining, "The Crescent Moon Swordsman couldn't afford our price, so he decided to search for her himself."

Elina let out a sigh of relief. If that was the case, then there was still a chance for her.

"How much did you offer him back then?"

"Not much—just five hundred thousand Sharn."

"Five hundred thousand Sharn?" Elina raised her eyebrows slightly.

"Why?" Kral looked at her playfully. "Do you think that's too much?"

Elina shook her head.

"Actually, that's pretty reasonable. It's just that not everyone can afford it."

"Heh… From your tone, it sounds like you're a wealthy woman," Kral teased.

Elina simply smiled and shrugged.

"Tell me, how much would it cost to get information on the Crescent Moon Swordsman's granddaughter? Is it the same price you offered ten years ago?"

Kral burst out laughing.

"Of course not. It's been ten years. The price isn't the same anymore."

Elina wasn't surprised. If anything, she had already expected that.

"Just tell me the price."

Seeing her impatience, Kral smiled playfully and held up all ten fingers.

"One million Sharn?"

"No. Ten million Sharn!"

The waitress standing behind him was startled by Kral's answer.

But Elina, who was expected to be just as surprised, remained completely unfazed.

"Ten million Sharn, huh?" She gave a slight nod as she sipped her tea. "All right. I'll pay it."

Kral: "…"

The waitress: "…"

"W-Wait a minute!"

Kral couldn't hide his anxiety and confusion.

"Are you sure about that? Ten million Sharn, you know? Do you have any idea how much money that is?"

Elina nodded impassively.

"I know. So what? I can pay it."

Ten million Sharn was a huge sum. But that was all there was to it.

Right now, all Elina had was money. As it happened, she didn't even know how to spend it.

If Kral knew what she was thinking, he'd probably spit blood.

Ten million Sharn was an enormous amount. For an ordinary person, it would take hundreds of years of working without spending a single coin to save that much.

Yet Elina had casually agreed to pay ten million Sharn.

Kral quickly regained his composure. He had been in the assassination and intelligence business for a long time, so he had excellent control over his emotions.

"Emma, bring the check and the investigation report from ten years ago."

Emma didn't dare to object and immediately carried out his order.

Ten minutes later, she returned with a stack of dusty documents and a check on top.

"It's all here, Chairman."

She placed everything on the table before walking back behind Kral.

"These documents contain the information I gathered when the Crescent Moon Swordsman asked me to find his granddaughter. Although he canceled the request because he couldn't afford our price, I continued the search, hoping he might change his mind someday."

"Unfortunately…" Kral chuckled bitterly. "He never came back. But that's fine. You're willing to pay a high price for this information, aren't you?"

He looked at Elina with a playful smile.

Without hesitation, Elina picked up the check lying on top of the documents and filled in the amount: 10,000,000 Sharn.

"Done."

She placed the check in front of Kral and picked up the documents.

"I'll take these. Thanks for your cooperation."

Without saying another word, she turned around and left.

Emma wanted to stop her, but Kral immediately raised his hand.

"Don't bother."

He picked up the check and slipped it into his pocket.

"She's an arrogant woman. I know that much already. There's no way she could fool me."

Emma pursed her lips, then let out a long sigh without saying anything.

Inside her inn room, Elina opened the dusty documents and read through their contents.

Half an hour later, she finally finished reading, and her expression turned strange.

"The granddaughter of the Crescent Moon Swordsman was kidnapped by Jakes?"

The documents stated that Jakes, the man who worked with Cedric, was the culprit.

They also noted that the swordsman's granddaughter had been sold to the Eastern Region. Unfortunately, the information ended there.

"Ten million Sharn for just this information? Looks like you've been deceived, Your Highness."

Arnold emerged from the shadows.

Elina shook her head.

"No, this is important information."

She closed the documents and gazed out the window at the night sky.

"The Eastern Region is under my control. I can search for her much more freely there."

Arnold looked at her determined expression and couldn't help but smile.

"My Lord, your younger sister has come a long way, even without your help…
