“When I first detected an attack on the border, I assumed it was one of your accursed golems that had arrived,” Dave remarked.

“I came with the sole desire to destroy your magical construct and send its severed head back to you, just to see how you would react.”

Chuckling lightly, Dave continued,

“But it seems I completely overestimated you, a peak Tier 6 mage walking blindly into the domain of two Tier 8 human lords, who also have the backing of two other Tier 8 lords—tell me, how dire do you think your situation is right now?” Dave paused after speaking to this point,

Hearing his analysis, Rhen and Flint burst into laughter as well, feeling that the battle was already won and that Alec had only been bluffing to gain a small advantage when he asked them to walk away.

However, while the three of them treated Alec as if he were already a piece of meat on their chopping block, David never stopped staring at him, attempting to gauge any shift in his facial expression.

But that was the problem, he didn’t detect any from Alec at all, there wasn’t even a single hint showing that Alec was the least bit intimidated by their gathering.

This prompted David to scan the surroundings cautiously, trying to discern if any of Alec’s golems were hiding in ambush for a sneak attack.

Yet, no matter how thoroughly he searched, he couldn’t find anything out of place.

David had already spread out his mental sense to scan the surroundings, his decision to even finally speak and engage Alec stemmed from the belief that if they kept talking, someone would eventually slip up, providing the exact opportunity he needed to uncover their opponent’s true plans.

“Do you even know who we are?” David demanded.

“Oh? Am I supposed to know the names of the people who just tried to take two of my cities?” Alec retorted sarcastically. Turning back to David while maintaining his nonchalant facade, he added,

“No, I don’t think so. After all, you should realize that I only came here with a single objective: to kill you and leave with both of your city lord tokens.”

Alec was flaunting his absolute confidence so intensely that Dave found it incredibly difficult to restrain himself from lunging straight at him to cut him down.

However, David had already ordered everyone to stand down via a voice transmission while he searched for any hidden traps, hidden mage or even hidden golems, however he was unable to believe that their opponent had penetrated this deep only to wait around for two minutes doing nothing.

With his Wyvern, Alec could have easily breached their inner territory by simply ordering the beast to rain down flames on every military tower along the path, allowing him to fly straight to the throne room.

This logical contradiction kept David constantly questioning what was truly going on.

“Why here?”

Why had Alec chosen this exact spot to wait for them?

Yet, no matter how much he racked his brain or tried to find a reason, he couldn’t make any sense of it.

“We are royalty of the Northern Royal Family. My name is David Tudor, and I deeply apologize for any misunderstanding we may have caused when we entered your territory to greet you,” David said.

He was already growing frustrated; his inability to locate any hidden ambushers made him realize that Alec was truly facing them all alone, while maintaining a completely unfazed expression without any worry in the world.

“We only recently discovered that you are a subject of our kingdom, which is why we came to extend our greetings. Unfortunately, a terrible misunderstanding led to this conflict instead.”

The fact that Alec was alone was supposed to bolster his confidence, however this realization brought him no comfort at all, on the contrary, an ominous feeling gripped him, that opposing Alec felt like a grave mistake, even if the youth’s cultivation realm was two tiers lower than theirs.

Yet, Alec stood directly before them, his intentions clear as day, leaving them with no choice but to respond in kind.

From a distance, just before stepping into the teleportation nexus, Liam Tudor gazed up at Alec mounted upon the back of the massive, majestic wyvern, unable to suppress a surge of intense envy.

Fueled by intense jealousy, he had consistently positioned himself on the opposing side of every conflict against Alec, deeply wishing that he had been the one to achieve the feats attributed to him.

Yet, time after time, he found himself utterly unable to impact Alec, with each failure only serving to enhance Alec’s ever-growing reputation and prestige.

Ultimately, his only remaining hope was that his senior would manage to defeat Alec. With that thought, he stepped onto the center of the teleportation nexus, activating it to travel toward the coordinates of a city near his own region.

Since he was lacking the wealth required to install a teleportation Nexus in his own city, he had to pay an influential regional lord to utilize their array, which allows him to travel toward the coordinates of the Tudor twins.

Alec watched the brilliant beam of light flash into the sky while rubbing his jaw. Putting two and two together, he easily guessed who had just departed, but he had more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.

He believed that if fate willed their paths to cross again, he would eliminate Liam once and for all.

Unlike in the northern kingdom, where numerous constraints prevented him from acting against Liam since he was royal born, the same could not be said here in the origin realm.

As independent lords, they no longer answered to their former kingdoms, though they might occasionally collaborate with fellow countrymen, Alec didn’t give a damn about them.

He was confident that by the time the five-kingdom region finally merged with the origin realm, his power would have grown far too immense for a measly royal clan to ever restrain, so killing their most talented lords that would gain a lot from their emerging didn’t feel that much bad again

“So, you’re telling me that after launching an attack, attempting to slaughter my subjects, and causing extensive damage that will cost a fortune to restore, you merely came to extend your greetings?” Alec countered sarcastically, turning David’s own question right back on him.

Alec completely refused to give David any face. Despite everything David had just said, a clear underlying message was hidden within his words.

He was subtly signaling to Alec that a confrontation was unnecessary, and since they didn’t want to fight, they could simply laugh the matter off.

However, Alec had absolutely no patience for political games with such cunning individuals like him, he had torn away all pretense between them, as he directly challenged them in a way that would lead to battle, a vital lesson he had learnt from the grand elder.

“Why are you acting so passive with him, David?” Dave bellowed in anger, completely infuriated by his brother’s uncharacteristically reserved attitude.

The next moment, he spun around and pointed his right index finger into the sky, Dave sneered, "Listen here, brat. You’re from the northern kingdom, which means you belong to us, the royal family of the Northern Kingdom.”

“If you know what’s good for you, bow in service to us. That way, we’ll allow you to keep your place as a sub-lord under our rule, alive. We want your lands, and we will take them—whether you are alive or dead."

A small, vibrant beam of energy appeared above his finger, pulsing continuously.

"I appreciate your directness," Alec replied with a blooming smile, tapping the head of his Wyvern.

"You want my land and are willing to kill me for it. As for me? I want your life to send a message. Quite literally, I came here to execute you for that exact purpose, so what are we all waiting for?"

"Zenith... Dracarys..." At Alec’s singular command, the entire sky erupted, completely filled with nothing but brilliant golden flames.
