The Glorious Evolution Chapter 422: A Sealed Fate.
Previously on The Glorious Evolution...
"The Raiders’ Captain has done the impossible! I can’t believe my eyes..."
With burning passion, Gamemaster Envy declared those words, yet a roaring torrent of cheers exploded like a tempest, engulfing his voice entirely before it could echo across the vast game map.
No matter their faction, all spectators struggled to comprehend the impossible sight before their eyes... such a reaction was completely justified.
Levi aiding his teammates through aetheric manipulation from afar was wild enough to swallow... but this feat? Commanding aether energy with horrifying accuracy over kilometers and preserving every bit of its power?
Simply beyond belief.
At that instant when Levi saw Blake create solid separation from Fang, he released his hold... collapsing onto his knees, his outstretched arm trembled violently while blood poured from his nose without stop.
The raging aetheric tempest surrounding him faded away, restoring his hair to its usual shade. Immediately, Jasmine, Jojo, and the other Daywalkers rushed to his side, their faces filled with total shock and a touch of worry.
’Levi... don’t push yourself too hard.’
First to aid him, Jasmine and Jojo lifted him back to his feet to hide any sign of frailty... aware that the Nightcrawlers watched their every move, ready to strike if they detected even a hint of vulnerability as he climbed the rope.
"I am fine... just a little dizzy,"
Reassuring them with a calm smile, Levi responded... next, his attention shifted to Fang, who had shattered the aetheric bindings right as Levi faltered.
Fang’s quiet, intense stare locked onto Levi as he observed him... showing no pursuit of Blake or any sign of agitation. He merely fixed his gaze on Levi, countless ideas racing through his thoughts.
Among those thoughts lingered the Bishop’s warning... replaying in his head like an urgent alarm.
Spotting Levi’s subtle, icy grin, Fang let out a soft laugh. ’What an interesting little human... but, too bad... I am done playing.’
Suddenly, Fang’s whole aura transformed... before, he radiated the frenzy of a rabid werewolf obsessed solely with thrill and the chase.
Now? His face reflected the wisdom of a veteran who had endured countless battlegrounds and emerged alive.
’Fang... please don’t make me do all the work.’
A lazy, gentle voice suddenly echoed in Fang’s mind... he glanced toward his companion, positioned in the Nightcrawlers’ base, cradling a katana.
’Tsk, just keep sleeping, Rain... you think a bunch of kids can handle me?’
With a scoff, Fang bristled at his partner’s doubt... he advanced without pause, whirling the chained fang furiously in his right hand. Soon, the fang vanished into a streak; nothing but the ominous whir of its rotation filled the air nearby.
His eyes shifted to pure crimson, altering his view to a monochrome world where only blood-tinged beings stood out... much like Shia’s sight.
Blocking out all surrounding clamor, Blake’s gliding figure sharpened into focus... despite his erratic zigzags and dips below the rope to evade the undead horde, he shone vividly in Fang’s vision.
’Holy shit... the captain actually pulled it off! Insane!’
Nerves and thrill mixed on Blake’s face as he distanced himself from the hunter... already, he spotted Nurah, Tyrese, and his comrades charging toward him for backup if the undead caught up.
Relief and joy flickered on their features, certain of Blake’s unrivaled pace along the rope and the sluggish undead’s minimal danger... except for Fang.
Blake executed a quick dodge, slipping beneath the rope and looping around the largest cluster of undead separating him from his team...
Refusing to allow an easy escape, the winged undead pursued with gusts of poisonous mist... Blake’s lightning whip vaporized the toxic haze, slicing through with fierce focus.
Once back atop the rope, he had left the undead far behind in his wake... Glancing back and confirming safety, Blake sighed deeply in relief and eased his speed slightly.
"Hahaha! As calculated, I have pulled that monster away and returned in one pie..."
His cocky quip cut short as his ears picked up the sound... a piercing, squeezed tchhrrrkk slicing the air from behind.
No casual toss’s whistle, this... it resembled the atmosphere ripped apart by a hurtling projectile.
Instinctively twisting around, Blake caught sight of it then. A blood-red, blade-sharp spinner hurtled mere meters from his face.
’Huh...’
With his eyes dilating in bewilderment, the strike landed amid a thunderous crack... a savage blast hurling bone and blood outward in a ferocious gush!
His skull exploded into shards, pieces flying like fractured china across the sky, as the fang ripped clean through and surged onward, barely sparing Tyrese’s dazed face by a mere inch and leaving him rooted in shock.
Nurah, Shia, Arthur, and Rakai slowed instinctively before grinding to a stop... their ears traced the fang’s piercing wail fading into the distance, while their horrified stares fixed on Blake’s mangled remains tumbling along the edge of the twirling rope.

"..."
Silence gripped them all, shocked gazes following Blake’s body as it plunged into the void, his form oddly retaining a trace of puzzlement... just steps from glory, then... boom, the stairs collapsed, hurling him straight back to doom.
"Once I mark someone as my prey, his fate is sealed... only one ending awaits him. No one... hear me well... no one beneath these heavens can save him from me."
Fang mirrored the icy sneer back at Levi, whose face drained of color... he managed only to gape at Fang’s chain, now short one fang.
Levi couldn’t wrap his head around it... he’d watched Fang unleash his weapon, skewering several undead along its path before it claimed Blake... He’d meant to shout a warning to Blake, but chaos unfolded too swiftly—the instant his mouth opened, Blake was already finished.
The Daywalkers behind him felt ice grip their hearts as Fang’s horn tally leaped from three to forty in a flash... the count floated above his head for everyone to witness, marking him as the Rifter boasting the most horns in this game.
Still, pure terror surged through most at the idea of chasing him down to snatch those horns... Blake’s shocking demise looped relentlessly in their minds, leaving them baffled at how he landed that flawless headshot with the fang despite the chaos: the spinning rope, the vast distance, Blake’s dodging, and the undead swarm in the way.
But accomplish it he did... effortlessly, like it was merely another day’s casual task.
"Blaaaakeeeee!!!"
Tyrese’s enraged bellow thundered down the rope, jolting most viewers and Daywalkers from their stupor.
His eyes burned blood-red with fury... Arthur and Rakai grabbed him fast, faces grim, realizing his booze-fueled rage could drive him to stupidly charge at Fang.
Fortuitously, the second round ended abruptly once the rope completed its tenth turn, yanking everyone’s focus to the screen overhead.
Seconds later, four names glowed bright on both sides.
Viewers burst into manic cheers the instant they spotted the names... while Daywalkers and Nightcrawlers faced the total reverse.
A heavy hush descended.
