The Glorious Evolution Chapter 421 Embodiment of Aether.
Previously on The Glorious Evolution...
Blake let out a desperate cry toward Levi and Tyrese... but sadly, they were too distant to provide any real aid. Even Nurah's shadow teleportation couldn't help in this scenario, as they stood at opposite sides of the enormous rope.
The reality that Fang could intimidate them solo showed rushing to rescue Blake would just be a foolish suicide mission... particularly since the rope's middle was now controlled by countless undead minions, forming an impenetrable barrier.
Still, Levi wouldn't abandon him so quickly... not when guilt weighed on him for the Bishop's thugs joining the fray and transforming the challenge into their killing ground. Plus, Blake held the bulk of their gathered horns.
Should he perish, half the haul would go to Fang... sealing a disastrous end for everyone.
'Damn... think, think, think.'
Levi realized they had no choices remaining, and once Blake hit the Toxic Kingdom, it was over... Left with scant alternatives, Levi settled on his sole plan.
'The huge gap will complicate it, but I just have to create a tiny opportunity for Blake... he handles the rest.'
Levi didn't waver, drawing in a deep breath before lifting his palm at the dashing werewolf.
'Blake, trust me on this,' Levi transmitted a firm dimensional message. 'Turn back and charge straight at that jerk.'
'What?! You crazy?! He'll slaughter me!!'
Chills raced down Blake's back without stop, too terrified to even peek at Fang. Though sprinting at top speed, the booming steps chasing him and the savage snarls from Fang echoed clearly.
Reverse and rush him? No way!
'That's your sole shot. You're heading right into disaster.'
At those words, Blake swallowed hard in terror. He spotted Deyss'Vael and his crew lurking in the Toxic Kingdom, smirking coldly as they awaited him.
As the Rifter topping the horn count right now, every rival craved his downfall. Everyone remembered the prize: the top horn collector among Rifters gets a special Unique Wish.
'Crap, crap, crap!! Why me?!'
Facing the grim choice between leaping off the rope or relying on Levi, Blake could only lament his rotten luck. Abruptly, he halted and skidded in a broad curve along the rope's surface, sparking electrical trails behind!
Suddenly, he hurtled toward Fang, eyes bulging with pretended courage. Feigning boldness beat giving in to fear any day.
"I AM NOT DYING HERE!!"
Blake bellowed at full volume while barreling toward Fang, his speech impediment vanished. Adrenaline surge or sheer dread of joining his fallen comrades—whatever fueled it, Blake's bold counterattack stunned all, including Fang.
"Hahaha! I like it!" Fang tilted his head back in booming laughter, voice fierce and resonant. "If death ever catches up to you, don't beg… don't kneel… stare it in the eye and greet it with a raised middle finger!"
As Fang assumed Blake sought a heroic final stand, Levi inhaled deeply and calmly. His dark inner realm regained serenity, blocking out the clamor, yells, lightning snaps, and thumping feet. Only his heartbeat's pulse and the boundless sea of spirit power lingered.
His mind extended over the twirling rope like a hidden net. Now he sensed it sharper than before... faint aetheric strands embedded in all things. Instantly, his dark vista glowed green: rope, Giants, friends, foes, even the air.
Aether permeated everything. It awaited only a summons. A summons from one fit to command it.
'Maw… aid me in rescuing him, please,' Levi whispered in his thoughts.
The Soulleech Maw's tongue slithered from his palm, glancing at Levi briefly before locking onto Fang, the main mark. Though not fully comprehending, it sensed deeply. Right then, Levi's urgency and plea became its own.
Free of delay or question, the Soulleech Maw linked Levi shallowly to the Aether Realm... granting him keener aether perception and smoother control than at the game's outset.
Upon sensing the aether's swift shift, Levi pictured Fang's form dead center in his hand.
At that instant, Fang's outstretched claws neared Blake's neck for the fatal cut. Blake seemed to have lost all hope, regretting his folly in betting his life on Levi from miles off.
'Ah… I'm finished…'
Right when he was on the verge of reliving his life's memories, the rope under them started to shine. Initially a dim green hue, the light rapidly extended across its entire length, intensifying in a flash!
Gamemaster Envy, nightcrawlers, daywalkers, and all the spectators stood dumbfounded by this abrupt burst of stunning neon radiance.
Fang himself, along with the Bishops and the elite onlookers, saw their faces shift subtly. Before anyone could respond, tiny green specks materialized from thin air, clustering around the rope like embers rising upward.
Levi remained positioned far off, trembling while blood trickled steadily from his nostrils. Still, his spirit-enhanced gaze fixed firmly on Fang.
Then... with a cold tone, he clenched his fist tightly.
"Seal."
From the rope and surrounding air, a colossal hand crafted of dense aetheric power burst forth!
Big enough to shatter an entire plane, its digits were robust and firm, even though formed from verdant glow.
But this marked merely the start...
Spectators gawked in shock as Fang's dashing form got instantly captured by countless enormous green hands! They materialized from all directions... the rope's exterior, the heavens above, and right from his own frame!
Fang detected the danger. Yet, despite his tremendous velocity, dodging aether power linked to all existence proved impossible.
Precisely when his talons neared Blake's throat, those massive hands and fists pounded his form over and over!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Suddenly, every giant green palm squeezed tight, clamping his arms, legs, and body. The very atmosphere bore down as additional grips piled on, seizing his shoulders, midsection, and feet.
Fang's assault halted dead in its tracks!
Beneath the astonished stares of all present, he hung immobilized mid-strike, while Blake instinctively steadied himself and kept gliding onward. He dared not glance back at Fang, fearing the miracle might dissolve.
Meanwhile, Levi wobbled in place with fresh blood streaming from his nose, coloring his mouth. His spirit sight flickered briefly, yet he held his grip unyieldingly.
He sensed Fang's fierce struggle to escape the bindings. Levi wouldn't release until Blake created sufficient separation.
"This… how can this be…" Bishop Na'thir rose from his seat, utterly shocked seeing his elite follower restrained from miles away by a mere youth!
A youth without Dominion unlocked!
Not only he deemed the scene absurd. Gamemaster Envy gaped openly, eyes on the aether tempest swirling near Levi, lashing his robes and dyeing his ghostly locks the same green as pure aether.
It was like beholding aether's living manifestation firsthand!
