Oscar rejoices over Jeffrey Arnault's apparent alliance with Lucas, but Lucas and Jonah reveal it as a ploy for Jeffrey to escape unharmed after his subordinates' defeat. In his car, Jeffrey dismisses the alliance as fake to his hidden expert and orders the spread of news proclaiming Lucas the King of DC to provoke enemies. Lucas receives billions in compensation from most families but awaits the Williams' six billion, learning from Jeffrey that Rayson has allied with royal descendant Bradley Hills, prompting Lucas to resolve to claim his due and confront the Hills if necessary.

Thank you, dear readers!

Lucas dialed Rayson's number right after ending the call.

“Hello, who is it?” Though Rayson had long memorized Lucas’s phone number, he pretended otherwise. Smugness and outright disrespect oozed from his voice across the line.

“Rayson Williams, when are you transferring the promised six billion dollars?” Lucas got straight to the point, wasting no words.

“What six billion dollars? Mr. Gray, what do you mean? I don’t get it at all,” Rayson played dumb intentionally.

Then with pride in his tone, he added, “Oh right, I nearly forgot to mention, Mr. Gray. The Williams have already surrendered to the Hills, that royal family branch. All the Williams’ assets now belong to the Hills. I’m sorry, Mr. Gray, but what you’re after is out of reach!”

Lucas sneered. “So, you intend to go back on your word?”

“Tsk tsk, that’s not how you put it!” Rayson chuckled mockingly.

“As I said, everything under the Williams now belongs to the Hills. Mr. Gray, demanding money from me means demanding from the Hills. Offend them… and you won’t handle the fallout, will you, Lucas Gray?”

He wielded the Hills’ name to intimidate Lucas. No way did he think Lucas would dare take from the Hills!

“Fine then, stay put at the Williams residence. Past eight tonight, if that six billion isn’t transferred, I’ll head straight there and collect it from you in person!”

Lucas ended the call abruptly.

Did Rayson believe he could strut around him just because he’d latched onto a new patron? Truly a despicable rogue, as expected!

Yet if Rayson imagined the Hills’ reputation would intimidate Lucas, he was dead wrong!

At the same time, inside the Williams’ manor, Rayson's heart pounded wildly upon hearing Lucas’s final words, a wave of irrepressible dread flooding him.

Somehow, he sensed the Hills held no terror for Lucas.

Should Lucas truly show up at the Williams residence soon to demand payment, that’d be manageable. But if he came to slaughter them, the Williams couldn’t survive against this horrifying slayer!

This realization sent Rayson into a frenzy, and he quickly phoned someone. “Mr. Hills, the Williams face grave danger! Send your experts to save us!”

Jeffrey, closely monitoring the Williams, soon learned of it.

“Hehe, Lucas Gray issued Rayson Williams an ultimatum, but Rayson lacked the guts to confront him alone, begging the Hills instead. Soon, Lucas Gray will storm the Williams’, no doubt!

“This promises a spectacular showdown!”

A wicked grin twisted Jeffrey’s face as he gazed toward the far-off Williams’ manor.

Meanwhile, Bradley Hills, a third-generation scion of the royal Hills lineage, arrived at the Williams’ manor gates with his entourage, his face etched with hostility.

“Mr. Hills, you’ve arrived at last. Welcome! Do come inside!” Rayson, waiting anxiously by the entrance, bowed deeply upon spotting Bradley and ushered him into the Williams residence.

Around thirty years old, Bradley possessed striking good looks and radiated an aura of supreme nobility.

Were Lucas present, he might notice Bradley’s resemblance to Ashton Hills, though Bradley outshone him in handsomeness and refinement.

Bradley, after all, was a prized direct descendant of the Hills, while Ashton remained a mere branch offspring. Their standing within the Hills differed vastly.

Glaring at Rayson with revulsion, Bradley snapped coldly, “Hmph, you can’t handle some clueless kid in his twenties and beg the Hills for aid over this petty issue. Useless trash!”

He made no effort to conceal his scorn and contempt toward Rayson.

As a offshoot of the esteemed US royal family, the Hills held unparalleled prestige. They scorned alliances with those parvenu top families stinking of fresh money.

But on this occasion, Rayson had proactively pleaded for the Hills to absorb the Williams and make them a

vassal family of the Hills.

Were it not for the massive fortune Rayson pledged to the Hills, Bradley wouldn’t waste breath on a spineless fool like him.

Rayson swallowed his fury completely. He groveled and fawned, “You’re absolutely correct, Mr. Hills. I’m nothing but a worthless bum. That’s why I must lean on you to fix this mess! Deal with that scum Lucas Gray for me, and I’ll drop to my knees in gratitude!”

Disgusted by Rayson’s spinelessness, Bradley scoffed derisively. “When’s that brat showing up? I won’t linger here idly.”

“No need to worry, Mr. Hills,” Rayson assured hastily. “It’s past eight now. Lucas Gray ought to arrive any moment. He’ll be here within half an hour for sure!”

“Fine, I’ll hold on for another thirty minutes.” Bradley stepped into the Williams residence with clear impatience.

Without Rayson handing over every bit of the Williams’ assets to him, Bradley wouldn’t waste time on such minor issues.

Wasn’t this merely some clueless youth in his twenties? Being among DC’s eight elite families, the Williams couldn’t handle even one such youngster. Their fame was truly unearned!

Right now, Lucas was truly heading toward the Williams’ manor.

Lucas had granted Rayson sufficient time already, yet by eight o’clock, the Williams hadn’t sent over the six billion dollars. He realized Rayson had chosen his path.

Simultaneously, Lucas resolved to deny Rayson any further opportunities.

A treacherous rogue who kept stabbing him in the back deserved no more words.

Before long, Lucas reached the front gates of the Williams’ manor located in eastern DC.

The Williams’ manor gates stood firmly closed at that instant, with a handful of robust guards posted there, eyes fixed sharply on the surroundings.

Spotting Lucas’s vehicle pull up outside the Williams residence, the guards barked harshly, “This is the Williams residence. Outsiders must depart at once!”

Lucas stepped from the car and stated icily, “Have Rayson Williams come out to face me!”

“Insolent fool! How dare you address Mr. Williams by name? Seeking death, are you?” A guard yelled while advancing to shove Lucas off.

“Courting death yourselves!” Lucas scoffed, sending the hefty guards flying to the ground with a kick. Next, he booted wide open the securely locked metal gates of the Williams’ manor.

Bang!

That powerful strike warped the robust, weighty ornate iron gates, which then slammed down, exposing the inside of the Williams’ manor.

“Who dares invade the Williams’ territory? Craving death?!”

The loud disturbance at the entrance drew a group of about 30 men rushing from the manor, who surrounded Lucas with menacing glares.

Lucas stood tall and bellowed, “One more time: Bring Rayson Williams out right now. Or don’t fault me for rudeness!”
