The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space Chapter 2482: Alchemist (Part 2)

The entire mountain had been hollowed out, revealing a vast cavern at its core. Within this space lay a huge pool, brimming with a dark yellow liquid, and submerged within it were several individuals.
Surrounding this central pool were numerous individual stone caves, each containing its own pool filled with liquids of various vibrant colors.
The distinctive aromas wafting from these pools clearly indicated they were all medicinal concoctions. The presence of many venomous medicinal liquids made the air thick and nearly unbearable.
The suffocating scent was intense indeed.
Gu Qingheng found himself involuntarily coughing.
"General Gu, are you quite alright?" Flame inquired, his tone laced with genuine worry.
"It's nothing significant," Gu Qingheng replied, shaking his head. "Just accidentally inhaled some spit."
Flame offered a noncommittal hum in response.
"What is the purpose of soaking them?" Gu Qingheng gestured towards the people immersed in the large central pool.
"Newcomers who are mere mortals must endure immersion in the main pool for three days. This process uses potent toxins to temper their flesh and bones. Those who manage to survive demonstrate their exceptional quality and are then permitted to advance to the smaller, specialized pools," Flame explained, standing with one hand clasped behind his back. He spoke about this matter of life and death as casually as if discussing the morning's weather.
Groans of intense agony emanated from those in the pool. Bound by chains, they were incapable of escaping or even standing, their primal survival instincts driving them to struggle. However, their movements gradually became more sluggish until they eventually submerged completely.
After approximately fifteen minutes of submersion without resurfacing, attendants would then haul out the chains, retrieving the unfortunate individuals.
"Even in death, these failures will not be entirely wasted," Flame remarked with a hint of satisfaction as he led Gu Qingheng past the pool.
They proceeded through another doorway, emerging into a narrow canyon with only a small patch of sky visible far above.
Within this confined canyon, a large area was sectioned off with iron bars, housing seven or eight monstrous beasts. These creatures charged towards Flame with loud roars upon perceiving his presence.
"These beasts possess a particular fondness for the flesh of those who have been soaked in medicinal liquids," Flame stated, making a dismissive hand gesture.
Instantly, the beasts became docile and lay down obediently.
Gu Qingheng observed the creatures closely. They were enormous, somewhat resembling dogs or wolves, yet their tusks were distinctly boar-like, creating a peculiar appearance. Their large, red eyes, similar in size to quail eggs, were tinged with a dark purplish hue.
As they conversed, two men clad in black clothing tossed a corpse, recently retrieved from the pool, into the caged area.
The beasts lunged forward with widened eyes, and within moments, the entire body vanished without a trace—not even bones remained. Faint traces of blood were the only indication that a dead person had been present.
Having consumed the meal, the seven or eight beasts were far from content; rather, their appetites had been whetted. Perhaps due to Flame's presence, they refrained from any unruly behavior, emitting only low growls that seemed to serve as a reminder for more sustenance.
"These were originally ordinary dogs. However, after years of consuming the remains of those treated with herbal medicine, they have transformed into these creatures," Flame chuckled softly. "Come, allow me to demonstrate the training of Medicinal Soldiers."
Gu Qingheng couldn't help but cast a backward glance. The beasts bared their fangs and growled menacingly at him, some still bearing remnants of blood on their teeth, presenting a truly horrifying spectacle.
