Yong Cang woke up injured and was tended to by the Yang family. While recovering, he learned that Yang Ruxin is pregnant with triplets and is nearing her due date. Yang Ruxin then questioned Yong Cang about the circumstances of his injuries, reminding him of their cooperation.

Yong Cang turned his head, casting a glance at Yang Ruxin, and proceeded to recount the unfolding events.

Yong Cang had previously forged a partnership with Yang Ruxin for their Divine Sauce business. Upon returning to arrange the shipping docks, he witnessed the initial batch of several thousand pounds of Divine Sauce to Wa Country vanish from the market in mere days. Recognizing the soundness of his venture, he swiftly procured local specialties from Wa Country and made preparations for his return voyage.

Unforeseen circumstances arose when the Emperor of Wa Country secretly initiated contact with members of the Toyotomi Family.

Although Yong Cang, as the esteemed Young Master of the Toyotomi Family, had maintained his identity discreetly, he immediately grasped the Emperor’s underlying intentions. The Emperor harbored ambitions of seizing power, no longer content with being a mere figurehead, and sought an alliance to dismantle the authority of the Tokugawa Family.

After a period of thoughtful deliberation, Yong Cang gave his assent to this collaboration.

However, the Tokugawa Family had held dominion for an extended duration, possessing considerable might. With the current combined strength of only the Emperor and the Toyotomi Family, there existed no viable path to undermine the Tokugawa Family's entrenched power. In terms of sheer manpower, they found themselves at a distinct disadvantage, thus prompting their decision to solicit assistance from their closest ally, the Great Xuan Dynasty.

The Great Xuan Dynasty stood as the preeminent power among the surrounding nations, and crucially, it possessed formidable naval capabilities in the form of warships.

Yong Cang made haste to return to Daxuan, intending to reconnect with the network of contacts he had cultivated there and to formally request aid from the Xuan Emperor.

While all remained stable in Wa Country, he found himself ambushed shortly after entering Daxuan's territory.

"Has your true identity been discovered? Or is there a traitor among us?"

Yong Cang responded with a shake of his head, "They likely do not know my specific identity, only that I am someone associated with the Emperor. As for a mole... it's probable that information was leaked by someone on the Emperor's side."

"You place such immense trust in your subordinates?" Yang Ruxin inquired, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"Naturally," Yong Cang replied with a smile. "If anyone within my circle harbored intentions of betrayal, I would have met my demise already."

Yang Ruxin simply shrugged, stating, "That stands to reason."

"However, my thoughts are troubled regarding Shi Tian and Naihe," Yong Cang confessed, his expression suddenly clouding with sorrow. "They were the ones who bravely drew the attackers away, thereby enabling my escape. It is highly probable they are now in dire peril."

"Do not dwell on that matter presently. Concentrate on your recovery," Yang Ruxin instructed, rising to her feet. "Your injuries are quite severe. While my medicinal concoctions are potent, it will require at least a month for a complete recuperation."

"I shall be indebted to your care then," Yong Cang conveyed.

"Just remember to settle the payment in silver," Yang Ruxin quipped with a smile. "My medicines are beyond price, but I shall offer you a favorable discount."

Yong Cang could not suppress a chuckle and nodded in agreement, "Rest assured. Once I have recovered and my people have arrived, I shall not renege on this payment."

"Should you require anything, do not hesitate to summon Butler Miao. He will manage all arrangements."

"Understood," Yong Cang affirmed with a nod. "However, I have a consignment awaiting me in Quanzhou. Would you be amenable to dispatching someone to handle its affairs on my behalf?"

"Certainly," Yang Ruxin readily agreed. "I shall require a twenty percent commission for my services."

"A deal," Yong Cang readily accepted, then proceeded to remove a shell-carved ring from his neck, presenting it. "This shall serve as the token of our agreement."

Miao Jian stepped forward to accept the ring and presented it to Yang Ruxin.

Yang Ruxin took possession of the token and gave it a cursory examination. "Rest assured, I will ensure it garners a substantial price." With that, she rose, adding, "You should focus on resting now."

Upon exiting the courtyard, Yang Ruxin promptly summoned Du Chengxiu and entrusted him with the token. "You should proceed there ahead of time and liaise with Brother Yunpeng. I trust no one else more than you for this crucial task. Aunt Ye will remain here for the present. Once Du Man has given birth, she will join you. This will necessitate a temporary period of separation."
