Qi Jingyun, weakened from captivity, is given rare ginseng by Gu Qingheng to help him continue their journey. Dao Xuzi laments his hunger and expresses a desire to return to Xinxin, while Ming Guang reports that they are no longer being pursued. The group decides to hurry out of the mountains, with Ming Guang now carrying the injured Qi Jingyun.

Arang, responsible for the safety of Ayang and Jin Bao, reached the outskirts of the camp. Their journey wasn't entirely smooth; shortly after descending the mountain, they ended up encountering members of the Flame Sect. Fortunately, with Ah Zi's assistance, the situation was defused swiftly, which led Arang and Ayang to finally comprehend why the others had previously held such a dismissive attitude towards the wolf dogs.

Inside the Daxuan Camp.

"Halt! Who approaches?" a vigilant guard called out upon spotting movement.

Ah Zi, expertly guiding the wolf dog, casually trotted forward.

The soldiers of Daxuan were already aware that General Gu's wife possessed a pet fox, even one with distinctive purple eyes. Therefore, the presence of such a creature indicated familiarity. However, witnessing a fox riding atop a wolf dog left them utterly bewildered, prompting questions about what exactly was unfolding.

Disregarding the guard's challenge, Ah Zi dismounted from the wolf dog and trotted directly into the camp.

Arang and Ayang followed close behind.

"Identify yourselves!" Despite being seemingly guided by the purple-eyed fox, the guards remained hesitant to permit two unknown individuals entry without proper identification.

Arang, however, possessed no ability to speak the Daxuan language, and Ayang's command of it extended only to a few rudimentary words.

"What is the commotion?" At that moment, Qi Jingrong made his appearance.

"Greetings, Your Highness," the guard promptly offered a salute to Qi Jingrong.

"Who are these individuals?" Qi Jingrong inquired, his gaze fixed upon Ayang with a hint of a frown.

Arang quickly moved to shield Ayang behind him.

"We are uncertain," the guard admitted, shaking his head. His questions had yielded no answers, leaving him in the dark.

"Eighth... Highness..." Ayang recalled the instructions given by Gu Qingheng, and after a moment's thought, another name surfaced in her mind.

"What is your business with the Eighth Prince?" Qi Jingrong's eyebrows lifted slightly. Observing that these two appeared to be from Miaojiang, he felt it necessary to seek clarification.

Ayang met his gaze with a resolute expression: "Eighth Prince." Having finally confirmed the correct pronunciation, her focus narrowed solely on this individual.

"Are you of the Miao people?" Qi Jingrong's impatience began to surface. "If you refuse to speak, we shall consider you spies and detain you."

Arang positioned himself protectively in front of Ayang, stepping back cautiously. In his haste, he uttered a few words in the Miao language, but alas, they were unintelligible to anyone present.

"Seize them!" Qi Jingrong's suspicion intensified, and he gave a swift command.

"Your Highness, my Ah Zi led them here; how can you simply detain them?" A clear voice cut through the air. "Why not consult me, their companion?"

"Senior Nian," Qi Jingrong turned, offering a cupped-fist salute to Nian Qianqian. "However, their origins remain unknown, and a fox, after all, is not capable of discerning friend from foe."

"Did they not state they were seeking the Eighth Prince? Why not summon your Eighth brother here to question them directly? Perhaps they carry a message." Nian Qianqian raised an eyebrow, casting a glance at Ayang before switching to the Miao language. "Who are you? From whence do you hail? What is your purpose in seeking the Eighth Prince?"

Qi Jingrong felt a wave of frustration; without his third brother present in the camp, his authority felt significantly diminished.

Upon seeing a beautiful woman clad in white approaching, carrying Ah Zi, Ayang felt a surge of relief. At least this individual seemed unlikely to apprehend them. Hearing her speak in the Miao language brought further comfort. Ayang proceeded to explain that they had encountered individuals in the mountains who instructed them to find either the Eighth Prince or General Zhou Jiang, and that the little fox had facilitated their escort out.

This explanation aligned with Ran Lei's prior directives; while they could converse in Miao, they struggled with the pronunciation of General Zhou Jiang's name in the official tongue, managing only to convey the sounds of 'eight' and 'prince.'

"Enter, please," Nian Qianqian stated, without even glancing at Qi Jingrong, and turned to walk inside.
