The Extra Who Shouldn't Exist Chapter 425 - 426 : A unknown variable

The moment the words left the soldier’s mouth, a terrifying aura erupted from Belial.
Dark energy exploded outward like a violent storm, and the battlefield trembled as the air itself grew heavier, suffocating everyone present.
Lower-ranked Fallen Angels immediately collapsed to their knees. Some clutched their chests desperately as they struggled to breathe, while others fainted instantly, their bodies crashing onto the blood-soaked ground. The pressure was overwhelming.
Only the four-winged Fallen Angel generals managed to remain standing, and even they had to release their own auras to resist the crushing force.
The six figures who had arrived with the hooded woman also remained on their feet, but even they could not ignore the terrifying truth.
If a fight broke out right now, Belial could kill all of them before they even had the chance to react.
The oppressive power surrounding him was simply that monstrous.
Then suddenly—
The aura vanished.
Belial slowly inhaled a deep breath, and the crushing pressure disappeared. The soldiers who had collapsed began gasping desperately for air.
Belial turned his gaze toward the messenger.
The soldier was barely conscious and trembling violently.
Belial’s voice echoed coldly. "Explain. How did this happen?"
The soldier immediately forced himself upright. "My lord!" He bowed deeply, trying to steady his shaking body. "Lady Victoria broke the barrier that was surrounding the palace."
He swallowed nervously before continuing. "That gave Princess Kaelith the perfect opportunity to escape."
Belial’s eyes narrowed as curiosity slowly appeared in his gaze. "Why would Victoria do that?" His voice turned dangerously quiet. "Are you lying to me?"
The soldier’s breath hitched instantly. "N-No, my lord!" He shook his head desperately. "Lady Victoria... the thing is... the place where you sent us to search for the Evil Spawn... a person appeared there."
Belial remained silent.
The soldier continued nervously. "He called himself... Lucifer. Lucifer Morningstar."
The moment the name was spoken, the hooded woman standing beside Belial flinched for just a brief moment.
But Belial noticed.
His sharp gaze turned toward her instantly.
"Do you know something about him, Queen of the Void?" His voice was calm, but heavy with authority.
The hooded woman remained silent for a moment before answering calmly. "No, I do not, Lord Belial." She paused slightly. "And please... call me Kalindra. That is the name I go by."
Belial studied her carefully. His black eyes scanned her posture, her breathing, and the flow of her aura.
"Are you telling the truth... Kalindra?"
Kalindra answered without hesitation. "Why would I lie?"
Belial watched her for another moment before nodding slightly. "Very well."
He turned his attention back toward the trembling soldier. "Tell me everything about this person called Lucifer."
The soldier nodded quickly. "My lord... it seems he arrived there to retrieve a weapon. He kept repeating that it belonged to him."
The soldier’s voice trembled slightly. "He threatened our troop and told him to deliver a message to Lady Victoria... or he would kill us all."
Belial’s expression darkened.
The soldier continued. "The moment Lady Victoria heard the message, she burst out of the castle and destroyed the barrier herself."
Belial suddenly gritted his teeth. "That damn Hephaestus..."
His wings flared slightly behind him. "Even as he fades from existence, he still finds ways to interfere with my plans."
His voice was filled with irritation. "There are only a handful of people who know that Victoria is a weapon... a weapon capable of killing even gods if used correctly."
His eyes burned with anger. "This is his doing."
Belial’s wings suddenly spread wide as dark energy gathered around him once again. "I will destroy that clown Lucifer myself."
His voice echoed across the battlefield like a declaration of war.
Just as Belial’s wings flared with fury and his dark aura began rising again—
Kalindra’s calm voice suddenly cut through the battlefield.
"Wait a moment, Lord Belial."
The words were soft, but they carried enough authority to make everyone pause.
Belial stopped.
His wings slowly folded behind him as he turned his head toward her.
Kalindra stepped forward slightly, the hood of her cloak still hiding her face.
"The place you are talking about," she continued calmly, "is the same location where the Tower’s Fifth Floor trial is currently taking place... am I correct?"
The fallen soldier who had delivered the message quickly bowed his head. "Yes, Miss Kalindra. You are absolutely correct."
Belial’s black eyes narrowed slightly as he looked toward her. "And how do you know that?"
Kalindra let out a soft chuckle, the sound echoing faintly across the silent battlefield.
"Because," she said in a confident voice, "I have already sent a few of my minions there on a mission."
The four generals exchanged brief glances.
Kalindra continued speaking as if revealing something very convenient. "And lucky for you, Lord Belial... the temple of the Fallen God whose power you covet is also located on that very floor."
For the first time since the soldier delivered the bad news, Belial’s eyes lit up.
"You are certain?"
Kalindra nodded. "Yes. I am completely certain."
For a moment Belial stood silently.
Then—
He burst into laughter.
A deep, satisfied laugh echoed across the battlefield. "Good... very good."
His dark eyes gleamed with ambition. "Everything seems to be going in my favor."
Belial then turned toward Kalindra again. "I will triple the price."
The battlefield became silent again as everyone listened.
"Kill this Lucifer," he said, his voice filled with killing intent. "And bring Victoria and Kaelith back to me."
His expression hardened. "Those two hold five of the fragments of the god-slaying weapon. I cannot allow them to slip from my grasp."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"And while you complete your original mission of breaking the seal of the Fallen God and claiming his legacy..." Belial spread his wings slightly. "I will grant you more than just the Fallen Angels."
His voice lowered slightly.
"I will also provide you with an army of demons."
Kalindra’s smile slowly widened beneath her hood.
"It will be done, Lord Belial," she said with quiet confidence. "You can rest assured."
Belial nodded slowly. "Then I leave this matter in your hands."
Kalindra bowed slightly. "It will be my pleasure."
