The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2625: Cain’s new weapon (I)
Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
Time passed, and as Meylin underwent her purification within the Coffin of Life and Death, ever more carnage unfolded within the hollow scarlet moon forged by the Scarlet King.
Cain maintained absolute control over every second of the process, ensuring the Sky Demons never escaped his grasp. Although they posed no threat to him personally, if creatures with such terrifying abilities were allowed to roam free, they would become a scourge upon the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. Given enough time, their strength could grow to horrifying levels, eventually turning them into calamities capable of threatening entire worlds.
And the last thing the Scarlet King needed right now was the birth of even more enemies.
Finally, the dark and negative emotions flowing out of the coffin began to diminish before fading completely. A meaningful light appeared in Cain’s eyes as he focused on the treasure. His gaze pierced through the surface of the coffin, and he could see Meylin’s figure resting peacefully within.
Her aura had weakened considerably.
The purification process had removed enormous amounts of psychic power from her existence, stripping away countless impurities and burdens accumulated over the years. Yet what remained behind had reached an entirely different level. Her soul, mind, and will radiated a purity and sharpness far beyond before.
"As soon as she recovers, she will break past the limitations restraining her cultivation."
A wide smile appeared on Cain’s face as he witnessed Meylin’s growth. It was not only because she was someone precious to him, but because he could already see the rise of another warrior capable of standing beside him in the wars to come.
Still, despite the satisfaction and joy in his heart, Cain did not allow himself to become distracted. His attention shifted toward the surviving Sky Demons.
After all the slaughter and cannibalism, only seven remained alive.
Because of the nature of their birth, each represented one of the seven deadly sins. One possessed a grotesquely swollen body and endless mouths across its skin, clearly embodying Gluttony. Another radiated uncontrollable destruction and bloodlust, every movement overflowing with Wrath. Others represented Pride, Envy, Lust, Sloth, and Greed, their forms twisted reflections of corrupted emotions and desires.
Despite being less than a year old, every single one already possessed the raw power of an Archdeity. Even more frightening were their survival instincts and adaptability, abilities that could create problems even for Alpha Omega Overgods.
Luckily for everyone, Cain held absolute control over the hollow moon.
There was nothing the creatures could do.
A smile slowly appeared on the Scarlet King’s face as he nodded to himself. These creatures were exactly what he needed.
Surprisingly, to the nightmare-like Sky Demons, the smile of the Hero of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe inspired absolute terror. Their instincts screamed danger. Several immediately began searching for ways to escape.
Unfortunately for them, escape was impossible.
Before they could even move, scarlet chains materialized out of thin air, piercing into their flesh before weaving through their bodies and souls. The creatures released shrill screams filled with hatred and fear as the chains completely restrained them.
The figure of the Primarch of Conquest appeared above them the next second.
The moment the Sky Demons laid eyes on that towering existence, terror exploded in their minds. They struggled violently, yet it was meaningless. One after another, they were dragged into the Primarch’s chest and swallowed into the Scarlet Throne itself.
Cain’s eyes sharpened as the preparations were finally completed.
Now it was time to begin forging his own Chimera Will.
First, he ensured Meylin’s condition remained stable within the Coffin of Life and Death before moving both her and the treasure into his Lucid Dream. Since the coffin was no longer producing Sky Demons, storing it inside the mental realm posed no danger.
The next moment, Cain returned to the Scarlet Crown.
Immediately, he seized control over the endless energy of the city and the world itself before entering the Scarlet Throne once more.
A meaningful light appeared in his eyes as he gazed across the realm.
Hundreds of warriors now wield unique weapons in their hands. Each weapon radiated extraordinary and distinct power, greatly increasing the battle strength of its owner. Clearly, while Cain had been helping Meylin and controlling the Sky Demons, the elites of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe had continued pushing forward, steadily harmonizing with their Chimera Wills and learning their true names.
Those who had already succeeded were now helping the others, greatly accelerating the process.
"It is only a matter of time before the strength of the army reaches the level needed to invade enemy territory."
The light in Cain’s eyes intensified.
And that light reached its peak when he thought about the Realm Heart once belonging to the Cult of Ouroboros and the role it would play in the future.
Still, Cain did not allow those thoughts to distract him from his immediate objective.
His gaze shifted toward the two largest structures inside the Scarlet Throne.
The first was a massive spire forged from countless skulls twisted in agony. Every face radiated madness, hatred, despair, and every dark impulse imaginable. The structure seemed capable of awakening the worst thoughts hidden within any soul that gazed upon it.
The second structure was newer.
It was a colossal mountain with a single gigantic face carved into its surface, one overflowing with endless rage and hatred. The fury radiating from it was so intense that it felt capable of spreading infinitely, consuming and corrupting everything in existence as fuel for its wrath.
That structure belonged to none other than Robuke, the Monster of the Root.
The power radiating from it had already reached the Limit Alpha Omega Overgod Rank, and if its fury were unleashed completely, it might even approach the Half-Step Fourth Realm.
As for the skull spire...
That terrifying monument belonged to Legion.
And the aura emanating from it matched Robuke’s might perfectly—perhaps even surpassing it.
Of course, the Legion Cain faced during the events of the Scarlet-Imperium War had not been this powerful. If it had possessed such strength back then, the Everstrife Empyrean World would have fallen within hours beneath the domain of that monster.
Long before their clash, Legion had attempted to invade and seize control of Cain’s body, only to encounter Apex, whose strength Cain had already determined to stand at the Fourth Realm. Even then, Legion managed to escape, though not without paying a catastrophic price, losing a massive portion of its soul in the process.
The surviving fragment was then forced to endure the full wrath of the Cult of Ouroboros while Cain himself pushed his body beyond its limits, carving devastating wounds into the entity before ultimately imprisoning it in the hidden dimension.
Yet despite all of that, Legion still managed to escape the Ouroboros Cult with Azazel’s assistance, carrying battle power at the Early Alpha Omega Overgod Rank.
That fragment was the one Cain eventually sealed within the Scarlet Throne.
Due to the unique nature of the throne, Legion’s shattered soul had slowly reconstructed itself over time, returning to what should have been its original level of power. As Cain analyzed the towering spire before him, he could not help but feel that such strength made perfect sense.
Meylin alone had been capable of creating several ArchDeities through her purification. Legion, meanwhile, had been born from the darkness festering within every major powerhouse of the Ouroboros Cult, emotions and corruption that had accumulated for millions, perhaps even billions, of years. It was the embodiment of countless negative emotions, desires, obsessions, and madness fused into a single existence.
There was even a possibility that, had Legion successfully taken over Cain’s body back then, it might have shattered the barrier of the Third Realm and stepped into the Fourth Realm, becoming a true universe-ending calamity.
The thought was terrifying.
Yet instead of fear, Cain felt excitement burning hotter and hotter within his chest.
After all, he planned to use that very entity as one of the cores of his future weapon, alongside the Monster of the Root.
A blazing light emerged in the Scarlet King’s eyes as he imagined what kind of existence could be forged from the fusion of those two beings. One carried every dark and twisted aspect of existence itself, while the other was born from endless rage and possessed the ability to corrupt all biological matter into fuel for its own growth.
Just imagining the result made Cain’s blood surge with anticipation.
