The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2623: The return of the Coffin of Life and Death
Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
With the full power and legacy of the Ouroboros Cult now resting literally in the palm of his hand, Cain’s mind exploded with ideas capable of bringing a massive upheaval to the current state of the Nine Empyrean Worlds. Countless possibilities flashed through his thoughts one after another, each one carrying the potential to strengthen the Alliance and prepare it for the inevitable war against the Tenth Empyrean World.
Yet Cain did not allow excitement to cloud his judgment.
He knew careful planning would be essential for his next move. Even the slightest mistake could create unforeseen complications and cripple the rapidly rising strength of his army.
Without wasting any more time, Cain left the empty dimension, reappearing once more within the underground cave hidden beneath the ocean. The next second, he rose into the sky before flashing through the heavens like a shooting star, returning directly to the Scarlet Crown.
Thanks to the endless streams of energy granted by Ao and Aioro, along with the support of the city itself, Cain was able to recover from the fierce battle against the formations in less than an hour.
Although the clashes had been intense, only the Ouroboros had truly threatened the Scarlet King or managed to wound him. Even then, his terrifying physical and spiritual defenses had reduced the damage to a minimum.
Most of that hour was not actually spent healing.
Instead, Cain devoted the time to thoroughly analyzing everything hidden within the Ouroboros Cult. By the time he finished, he possessed a complete understanding of the dimension and all the treasures, techniques, and formations stored inside it.
And now, it was time to use them.
A small smile appeared on Cain’s face as he stepped back into the Scarlet Throne.
The scarlet realm, once meant to house only the souls of those slain by the Scarlet King and serve as an extension of his will, was now filled with thousands of warriors. Some sat in deep meditation, using every ounce of their willpower to bring harmony to the myriad voices within their Chimera Wills in order to learn their names. Others had already succeeded and were now helping their comrades achieve the same breakthrough.
Cain silently released his aura, gently pulling the warriors out of their cultivation and drawing all attention toward him.
Once every gaze rested upon his figure, the Scarlet King’s smile widened.
Without uttering a single word, he waved his hand.
Immediately, thousands of streams of light shot into the sky.
The warriors watched with widened eyes as those lights transformed into countless sets of armor. These were not ordinary treasures. Every single piece radiated an overwhelming aura capable of protecting the bodies of ArchDeities and even Alpha Omega Overgods.
Awe and excitement surged through the hearts of the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance.
None of them were cowards who would use poor equipment as an excuse for defeat on the battlefield. They had already marched through countless wars against the Root and the Curse Eaters with little regard for their own lives.
Still, no warrior could deny the value of proper armament.
The stronger their equipment, the greater their chances of surviving the horrors awaiting them in the void.
As excitement filled the realm, Cain lowered his hand, allowing the armors to descend into the grasp of each warrior.
The joy in his heart deepened as he watched them examine their treasures with blazing eyes. These people would follow him into battle against nightmares capable of consuming worlds themselves.
And now, their chances of survival had risen dramatically.
Yet that was only the beginning.
Cain waved his hand once more.
This time, oceans of cultivation treasures flooded the sky alongside countless orbs containing cultivation techniques, battle arts, formation inheritances, and ancient records gathered by the Ouroboros Cult over millions—perhaps even billions—of years.
The sight was overwhelming.
Mountains of wealth floated across the scarlet heavens.
Cain saw no need to establish an exchange or contribution system.
Every warrior present had already placed their lives on the line time and time again for the Alliance. They had fought against the Root, against the Curse Eaters, and against despair itself.
More importantly, there was no need to conserve resources.
Cain was releasing the accumulated wealth of one of the most ancient organizations in existence. The Ouroboros Cult had gathered treasures for eras beyond imagination.
There was more than enough for everyone.
Leaving behind an incarnation of his will to oversee the distribution, Cain departed from the Scarlet Throne and entered the void once more.
There was someone else he needed to see.
Someone whose strength would be absolutely vital in the battles to come.
From an immense distance away, Cain could already perceive a massive psychic storm raging across the void. Waves of emotional and spiritual energy spread in every direction, making it seem as though an enormous heart of darkness had formed within the cosmos itself, one carved from all Seven Original Sins.
Yet upon closer inspection, one would realize there was no true darkness within it.
The negative emotions had been reborn.
Their destructive and corruptive nature had been shed and transformed into something far more profound.
And at the very center of that terrifying storm stood the True Depravita of Original Sins.
Meylin.
Her expression was peaceful, her eyes closed as she continuously pushed her cultivation higher and higher, seeking to break through the limitations of her path and step into the Peak Alpha Omega Overgod Rank.
If there was one advantage brought by this endless war, it was the immense quantity of negative emotions and psychic power flooding the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.
Fear.
Despair.
Hatred.
Rage.
All of it served as nourishment for a Depravita.
Because of that, Meylin possessed more than enough fuel to continue advancing her cultivation.
Unfortunately, cultivation was never determined by energy alone.
The other half was enlightenment.
Understanding.
Comprehension of one’s own path.
And there, the True Depravita of Original Sins had encountered a bottleneck.
She had already mastered all seven aspects of the Original Sins and evolved them beyond their ordinary nature. She had transformed powers once associated only with corruption into something infinitely more profound and complete.
Yet she remained stuck.
Not because she lacked talent or potential.
Far from it.
The problem was simply the terrifying difficulty of cultivation itself.
After all, if Meylin managed to take the next step, she would reach the absolute peak—and eventually the limit—of the Third Realm.
A stage that surpassed even her master and the one that helped her become a Depravita, the Demon King.
Meylin’s eyes slowly opened as she felt Cain’s presence approaching, and a faint smile appeared on her face when the two finally stood before one another in the endless void.
"How are things going within the throne?" she asked softly.
"Everything is progressing perfectly. They are all evolving very quickly," Cain replied with a wide smile.
Of course, Cain would have liked to help Meylin benefit from the new Path of Power as well, but she was a True Depravita, and the path had been designed specifically for the people of the Six Sacred Races. After all, it had been forged using the Curse Eaters as a blueprint.
Naturally, they could attempt to grant Meylin a body belonging to one of the Six Sacred Races, perhaps even recreate the body she once used in Aether when she lived as Beelze. However, there were countless complications with such a method. More importantly, unless that body could ascend all the way to the Alpha Omega Overgod Rank, it would provide little benefit and ultimately become a waste of precious time and resources.
Cain did not doubt that, given enough time, he could eventually help Meylin walk the same path as the others.
But that would not happen anytime soon.
Fortunately, his journey into the domain of the Ouroboros Cult had granted him exactly what he needed to help her take the next step in her cultivation.
Without wasting another second, Cain waved his hand, summoning the Coffin of Life and Death.
The instant Meylin laid eyes upon the coffin, shock and awe flashed across her face.
Even before sensing its true depth, she could already tell that it was a treasure of unimaginable power. More than that, every instinct within her screamed for her to enter it, as though the coffin itself represented the missing piece she needed to continue her evolution.
"This is the Coffin of Life and Death," Cain explained calmly as he gazed at the ancient treasure. "The Ouroboros Cult discovered it billions of years ago at the edge of the universe. Most likely, it is a relic born from the Emptiness itself."
The light in Meylin’s eyes intensified as she listened.
"It will nurture your body with the powers of life and death," Cain continued, "but more importantly, it will cleanse your mind, soul, and will of every lingering negative impurity. Corruption, despair, stagnation... all of it will gradually fade away."
Meylin’s breathing slowed as she stared at the coffin in silence.
