The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2420 The end of the alliance

"STOP!"
The command erupted from Kriz.
He floated shakily above the ground, his complexion ashen due to heavy bleeding, the stump of his severed limb still seeping traces of life force even with hasty bindings over the injury. Even in his ravaged condition, though, his gaze remained piercing and ruthless, his tone wielding such commanding power that challenging it seemed like courting death.
Cain observed him with icy detachment.
The earlier strike from Morningstar had struck with savage force-yet it wasn't lethal. Kriz might have rejoined the conflict ages ago. Rather, he had concealed himself, preserving his power, lingering until the peril subsided before showing his face. And yet, having deserted the battle and almost sealing everyone's fate, he dared to bark orders now.
Cain offered no immediate reply.
Rather, a crimson manifestation emerged gradually from the Ocean of the Blood Sun, scarlet fluid gathering into an imposing, majestic figure. Its empty sockets locked onto Kriz with frozen apathy.
"Explain your words," the avatar stated in a toneless manner.
Kriz's features grew stormy at the delivery. Fury ignited in his stare, and briefly, he appeared set to erupt. Yet suddenly he sensed it-the weighty, suffocating look from Morningstar, bearing down on his spirit like a dagger poised at his neck.
Kriz balled his hand into a tight grip and choked back his anger.
Drawing in air to compose himself, he addressed them once more, his tone restrained yet biting.
"Those three are not just warriors of the Kalous Kingdom. Their origins trace directly back to the Dark Blood Kingdom." His eyes
steeled. "Now that we have defeated them and they no longer pose a threat, the smartest course forward is to capture them and seal them."
He halted on purpose, allowing the gravity of his following statement to settle.
"You do not want to draw the wrath of the Dark Blood Kingdom. Am I wrong?"
The blood avatar stayed impassive, yet far inside Cain's essence, a grave wave unfurled.
The Dark Blood Kingdom held no trivial status. Inciting the mightiest realms in Paradise's Dark Blood domain wasn't a step to take without caution.
"I could return Gilgark and Orfin," Cain pondered evenly. "However, the Crown Prince is already dead."
Upon that realization, Cain eased a bit.
"I will already draw attention for the death of one. Letting the other two go will not change much-and I would be losing precious
resources."
Then the blood avatar gradually denied with a shake.
"They are all dead already."
"What?!" Kriz bellowed, astonishment and incredulity streaking his visage. A spark of dread chased right after. "How could you have killed all three of them so quickly?!"
The blood avatar denied once more with a shake.
"First of all, I did not kill them. We did," it clarified steadily. "It was your attack that damaged the Crown Prince's soul, leaving him unable to resist the strikes of Morningstar. As for the other two, the death of the Crown Prince triggered a chain reaction within their souls."
The avatar's voice resounded over the whole Ocean of the Blood Sun.
"You share the credit for their deaths."
A subtle grin tugged at the avatar's mouth.
"The final barrage only shattered already cracked eggs. They perished the moment they fell into the blood ocean."
The grin expanded just a touch, keen and eerie.
"If you do not believe me," Cain went on, "you are welcome to enter the Ocean of the Blood Sun and inspect the corpses yourself."
Cain knew full well that mending ties was out of reach. No point in courtesy or yielding. He cornered Kriz without mercy.
Kriz ground his teeth.
He yearned to refute those claims-but he was powerless to.
Insisting his blow hadn't wounded the Crown Prince would turn him into a joke, crumbling his position in the Royal Family. And regardless, it wouldn't absolve his role in the Crown Prince's end-or the unintended passing of the others. Following a prolonged, charged quiet, Kriz compelled himself to settle. The searing wrath in his core chilled into a more sinister chill.
"You should be more careful with how you speak to your allies," he
said coldly.
"Hmph."
The blood avatar scoffed outright this time.
"An ally who runs the moment things become dangerous is not worth having. If you no longer want this alliance, then so be it."
The avatar's eyes flashed.
"Our alliance is over."
"What?!"
The pronouncement struck Kriz like a sledge. He stiffened, completely caught off guard
by that retort.
He had meant to lean on the alliance to coerce the Blood King-
not to forfeit it completely. The partnership proved far too crucial.
"He must be bluffing," Kriz reassured himself hastily. "Without us, he
cannot face the Kalous Kingdom."
But as the idea took shape, his eyes lifted-to the trio
of Royal Guards suspended in the heavens.
Satan. Hades. Morningstar.
With Morningstar now among them, their united might proved ample to ward off any raid-particularly following the Kalous Kingdom's crushing toll in troops and top fighters from this clash.
Kriz's spirit plummeted.
"Let us not rush things," he urged swiftly. "First, we must—"
"No more words from you," the blood avatar cut in, refusing him even a look.
It shifted its focus to Mirena.
"Please inform your leaders that the alliance is over, and explain the events that led to this outcome. If they wish to reforge it, I am open
to negotiations-but the terms will change."
Its stare intensified.
"I did not want this. Your comrade forced my hand."
A tangled look crossed Mirena's countenance. She sensed Kriz's stare fix on her, pressing her to step in, to ease the tension and rescue the mess. She parted her lips to respond
Then a voice resounded in her thoughts.
"Why help him?
He is wounded. His actions harmed the kingdom.
You, on the other hand, defeated a member of the Dark Blood
Kingdom and stand at your peak.
If he falls... you can rise." The voice didn't feel alien.
It echoed like her inner voice.
Mirena went quiet.
After a beat, a soft smile formed on her mouth. She nodded toward the blood avatar.
"I will report the events exactly as they occurred."
