Having chosen his vessel, the Scarlet King's gaze burned with unyielding resolve while he let his intense yearning and determination flare without restraint.
"My goal..." he bellowed, his shout reverberating across all of reality, "is to return home!"
The glow surrounding his form flared wildly as the enormous stream linked to his Primordial Essence started to quake.
This phase ought to have been incredibly difficult, yet it posed no challenge for Cain. From the instant he merged with The Flow, he had risked everything—staring down near-total annihilation—just to reunite with his loved ones and companions.
The fierce resolve and deep yearning surging inside the Scarlet King intensified more and more, until—
"RSSSSSRHH!"
Cain wrenched himself away from the boundless stream.
The torment proved excruciating. Just seconds earlier, no clear boundary had existed between him and The Flow. Pulling apart now resembled shredding his entire being. Still, his determination remained rock-solid without a hint of faltering.
The Scarlet King pressed on with all his might, bearing the excruciating pain until he at last escaped.
The very second he succeeded, a colossal power gripped his Primordial Essence and forcefully ejected him from the realm of pure Flow, flinging him toward the material world.
The sky quaked.
The ground shuddered.
And the ocean—above all, the ocean—thundered back in fury.
A tremendous golden expanse of energy appeared as Cain's Primordial Essence came down. The Scarlet King swiftly turned his attention to the blood sea beneath him, and being on the same level now, the might hidden inside it stood out vividly.
"I made the right choice."
A grin lit up Cain's features, his gaze sparkling with exhilaration and rush. He plunged into the blood sea without delay—not just dipping in, but evolving into its essence and consciousness, fully uniting with the red depths.
At once, enormous surges and ferocious blood whirlwinds burst forth as an otherworldly change started to take shape. A quick look revealed this was far from a typical sea.
Vast stellar energies dominated its core, shaping its framework and essence from the inside. To properly birth this blood sea, Cain would have to blend entirely with those energies.
Luckily, since uniting with The Flow, Cain's Primordial Essence had already ascended to the Alpha-Omega Overgod Rank on its own. More crucially, his mastery of the Flow had elevated to an unearthly degree, enabling a profound grasp of existence—and the ties linking all life—to expand without limit. The furious tempest in the sea grew fiercer, impacting every organism living there. Numerous ones tried to escape, their gut feelings warning of impending catastrophe. But the torrents surged with such immense might that hitting the coast proved out of reach—even for entities at the ArchDeity Rank.
And that marked just the start.
As the merging advanced, the strength pouring from the blood sea kept climbing—and its scale did too. The sea had been colossal already, its area matching a tenth of an Empyrean World. It stretched out even more now.
Enormous blood swells rocketed upward, rising so tall they
appeared ready to graze the tempestuous skies above. They demolished all in their route, devouring woodlands, peaks, and any animal unlucky enough to linger nearby. Just the swiftest ones made it out alive.
The whole event lasted a full month.
Once it concluded, the sea gradually settled. The wild vigor faded, but the presence it emitted had become cleaner and vastly mightier than earlier.
A wave of bewilderment and strangeness briefly overtook the Scarlet King while he adapted to his fresh form.
"It's understandable," he mused steadily. "For most of my life, I had a humanoid body. Even when I possessed a dragon's form or moved as Leviathan, I was still an entity with eyes to see and ears to hear. Now... I am an ocean. It will take time to adapt."
Wasting no time, Cain started getting used to his new form. Simultaneously, he imposed his authority on each being inside it. All of them would fulfill a role.
Owing to the vast scale of his soul, only four days passed before he completely acclimated. He discovered ways to sense via the sea—how to observe, listen, and detect all that lay within.
That wasn't everything.
With one mere idea, gigantic limbs emerged from the blood sea, slamming toward the heavens with irresistible might. They held the strength to pulverize whole ranges. With added concentration and push, Cain could even craft a colossal human-like figure, one brimming with fearsome battle prowess.
"Excellent."
Excitement and delight gleamed in the Scarlet King's eyes as he learned to battle and sensed his strength surge. In the following moment, a keen insight
rushed through his thoughts.
"Step one completed. Time for step two."
Drawing in a steady breath, Cain turned his focus to the beings inside his form. Their psyches had been completely shattered by this point. The formerly savage and ferocious animals—ones that existed solely to slaughter each other—had turned into flawless thralls obeying the Scarlet King's orders. "I need to make them stronger if they're going to be useful." Cain remained a newcomer to this cosmos and hadn't yet grasped the essence of its stellar energies. This realm operated under neither Laws and Concepts as in the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe nor the Oniric Truths of the Crimson World. Despite his soul's tremendous potency, conquering those energies would demand time.
Thankfully, the Power of The Flow and the Power of Chaos appeared to surpass cosmic limits, operating no matter the realm they appeared in.
Drawing on both powers, Cain started infusing the animals with the sea's strength and core.
The beings shook fiercely as their forms swelled bigger and
tougher. Certain ones couldn't withstand the shift and burst apart, yet their vitality got swiftly taken in by the rest. No real waste occurred—merely purification.
Deep in the blood sea, a legion was taking shape.
