"BOOOOOOM!"
Deeply embedded into the earth lay Sozing, whereas Cain got hurled far away, his form tumbling wildly across the avenues until he almost hit the barrier's boundary. Flames erupted in the atmosphere surrounding him as he came to a halt from sliding, scorched by the furious acceleration persisting within his very cells.
For just a single heartbeat, the Scarlet King remained motionless.
Next, he compelled the Asura Form to deactivate, drawing on the final traces of energy from the Samsara Runic Set to mend his vital organs. Cracks over his heart and ruptured vessels started sealing thanks to the violet fires blazing within him.
"Puack!"
Despite the aid from his Samsara Immortal Body, a gush of blood sprayed from his lips while he tried to stand. His breaths came in harsh gasps, each one tearing painfully across his torso, and
overwhelming fatigue pressed upon him like an immense peak. Nevertheless, the Scarlet King refused to drop his vigilance.
His eyes stayed locked on the enormous pit where the Immortal Knight lay entombed.
Drawing in a deliberate, even breath, Cain started advancing toward the depression. A dim glow of leftover energy shimmered on his clenched hands, his stance rigid and ready for one last assault.
All at once, the earth quaked.
The shadowy metropolis quivered fiercely as a seismic upheaval burst under Cain's soles. Prior to figuring out the source, a shadowy orb burst forth from the pit and rocketed toward the dome's ceiling. Within moments, it unleashed a dominating force of gravity.
The synthetic star created by Redirection vanished in an instant.
Ruined edifices came next, torn from their bases and yanked howling skyward. However, Cain endured the tug with the most ferocity.
In a sudden surge, his frame shot upward, crashing through warped heaps of alloy and seething plasma that swiftly merged around an expanding shadowy nucleus. The Scarlet King fought to get up, every fiber straining against the pull.
Cain's senses shrieked warnings of peril, urging instant flight, yet prior to any action, additional debris from demolished forms slammed onto him, entombing his figure under endless heaps of debris.
In that precise instant, Sozing emerged from the pit.
A portion of his frame was annihilated—his left limb crushed to dust, his torso fractured, sections of his visage missing—yet he raised his remaining arm. Crimson fluid streamed from all openings and gashes while he kept feeding energy into the heavenly body overhead, pulling in ever greater might.
The pull grew stronger as whole structures ascended heavenward.
The Immortal Knight's form shuddered fiercely as he drove the method onward, squeezing and solidifying the swelling bulk until finally, a fresh alloy satellite took shape within the dome.
The Immortal Knight wobbled, scarcely holding himself erect. His respiration was strained, his sight hazy, but a grin gradually crept over his mangled features.
This method had been employed by him previously—in the Great War from eons past—to confine one of the foes' commanders, a being that had almost obliterated a whole Empyrean World.
"CRACK!"
The grin halted abruptly.
Fissures surfaced on the alloy satellite's exterior.
"Impossible!" Sozing bellowed.
The breaks expanded swiftly, becoming broader and more profound. Soon, armaments started protruding from the satellite's interior—swords, lances, and devices firing out in all directions. Initially just a handful appeared, but others joined, demolishing huge segments of alloy until the whole form burst apart.
The alloy satellite detonated.
Out from its core stepped the Scarlet King.
Trailing him, the Gate of Babylon appeared in full glory.
Cain's stare fixed on Sozing while the myriad gateways fused into a single one, spawning a lone Chaos Weapon. The lance emitted countless powers, its essence warping the atmosphere nearby. When Cain seized it, his presence exploded in a savage outburst.
"ZNNNNNN-"
The Scarlet King surged ahead, the lance gleaming with horrifying velocity.
Sozing channeled all his leftover might into a ultimate repelling surge, unleashing it right as Cain narrowed the gap. The energy burst forth amid them, twisting the fabric of space.
Still, the repelling force couldn't subdue the Scarlet King.
Cain clenched his jaw and pressed on amid the suffocating force, inching ahead bit by bit. His sinews howled, crimson trails flowing from his gaze and lips as he compelled his frame
forward.
Sozing bellowed, channeling extra vigor into the method, yet his reserves were depleted. His frame shook wildly, teetering on the edge of
breakdown.
The lance kept progressing.
Then-
"ZZNNN!"
The noise of ripping tissue resounded through the devastation as the lance stabbed directly into Sozing's form—right through his core.
"ARGHHHH!"
Cain let out a ultimate cry while he released every last bit of his power,
propelling both the lance and the Immortal Knight across the metropolis. Structures and pathways were eradicated along their route as they ripped
through the terrain.
The following moment, Cain fell.
He slammed into the soil with force, hardly able to inhale as Resurrección shut off, reverting him to his standard state. His frame quivered without control, each tendon protesting sharply.
Following such a ferocious clash, he had at last hit his boundary.
A few moments passed before he could prop himself up. His sight swam as he glanced at the far-off edifice where the Immortal
Knight of the Tenth Empyrean World hung pierced.
Sozing ceased all motion.
Every sign of his essence and aura vanished quickly.
"I need to use the throne before he-"
Cain stiffened.
A fresh aura emerged.
Icy dread surged through his bloodstream.
His vision darted skyward as a spectral otherworldly being materialized over
Sozing's corpse—a monstrosity bearing five visages. Four appeared dead, their orbs empty and void, but the central one glowed with sentience.
"There weren't four..." Cain murmured. "There were five?" The spectral shape folded in on itself until just the middle visage
lingered—a being akin to a sovereign of demise, its ebon hide shining as a broad, warped smile stretched over its countenance. Beneath Cain's gaze of horror, the being laid its palm on Sozing's
crown.
Within the subsequent moment, it ripped free the Immortal Knight's essence—together with the essences of Bako and Hako.
