The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2359 New enemies? (I)
Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
The unrestrained release of power from numerous powerhouses and Runic War Avatars caused entire continents to burst into flames instantly. Massive waves of energy incinerated seas of decay and flesh, while the surface of the World of the Root shuddered as if letting out a scream of agony.
Naturally, the elite experts of the World of the Root refused to let such destruction go unanswered.
While Cain and Robuke were locked in combat, Radagon succeeded in regenerating his physical form. As soon as his body became stable, he blurred forward to intercept Anark in a brutal collision. Radagon’s power flared, bringing a look of gravity to the face of the True Primordial of the Void. Within the World of the Root, the King of the Root was a terrifying opponent, as his connection to the tainted world greatly bolstered his strength.
Anark, however, was not fighting alone.
Even though Radagon had mended his body, the previous strike from the Gate of Babylon had inflicted deep wounds upon his soul and essence. This lingering trauma allowed Anark to meet him head-on, their exchange of blows sending massive shockwaves across the field as corruption and void repeatedly clashed. Shortly after, more silhouettes began to manifest across the surface.
Champions and High Lords of the Root emerged—the same entities encountered during the Invasion of the Heart of the Root—but they were now significantly more powerful. During their previous encounter, their interrupted gestation had stripped them of their Gifts and much of their strength. Now, however, they had reached full maturity, nourished by the life force of the fallen Abyssalcrown Empyrean World.
They were no longer unfinished monstrosities.
They had become weapons of immense devastation.
Fortunately for the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance, they had also undergone their own evolution. They possessed refined techniques, new treasures, and reforged Ego Waves.
A single order was all it took.
With no sign of hesitation or fear, they marched directly into the center of the enemy's territory, demonstrating how much the alliance had progressed.
Cain was well aware that this was not the final confrontation.
As the breach in the Wall of Fire and Flesh began to seal at a dangerous pace, he gave a new command before an hour had even passed. "Retreat!"
The warriors transitioned their formations instantly. They disengaged with perfect coordination and withdrew in an organized manner, retreating from the surface of the World of the Root and back into the void beyond the Wall of Fire and Flesh.
Radagon and the other Root powerhouses tried to obstruct their escape. They understood that if the wall closed while the enemies were still trapped inside, the World of the Root itself would consume them. However, the synergy of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance was impeccable. Not a single person was left behind.
Cain and Robuke continued their duel, spear and axe meeting repeatedly with world-shaking force. Then, during another heavy clash, the spear gripped by the Scarlet King suddenly detonated.
A massive explosion of Entropy and Nihility burst in every direction, drowning the battlefield in chaos. Robuke’s perception was momentarily overwhelmed as corrosive void energy flooded his senses.
By the time the beast could locate Cain again, the Scarlet King had already retreated into the void, following the last of the withdrawing soldiers.
Robuke seethed with a violent bloodlust.
He felt the urge to pursue.
He could tell that Cain’s remaining energy reserves were dangerously low. However, despite being more powerful than Radagon, he remained obedient to the will of the Root. His savage gaze stayed locked on Cain until the Wall of Fire and Flesh finally sealed shut.
A heavy silence descended.
Cain watched the World of the Root with a freezing gaze.
"This served as a productive beginning," he whispered, his face showing no emotion. "However, one of the entities from the Emptiness has yet to show themselves. If I drop my guard now, the situation will become incredibly perilous."
Strengthening his resolve, Cain turned toward the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance and offered a smile.
"We have demonstrated our strength," he declared calmly. "We have shown that even those who claim to be eternal and endless can be consumed by our flames. Take your rest. More battles are coming, and we will continue until their world is reduced to cinders, one layer at a time."
Expressions of exhilaration and victory washed over the warriors' faces as they made their way back to the Golden Hall. Many immediately set about restoring their energy and healing their injuries, while others began preparing for the next phase of the conflict without a moment's pause.
Cain, Anark, Amara, Cipher, Zephirax, Arkam, and Uriel assembled in the chamber housing the portals to the Empyrean Worlds. They sat down, ready to deliberate on their next strategy.
Then—
Their eyes sharpened.
Two portals began to radiate light.
And that light did not belong to any of their own Empyrean Worlds.
