"I've got you!"
The beastly entity let out a roar, a voice layered with countless overlapping echoes, sounding as if its physical form was a container for a multitude of souls—each one saturated with madness, fury, and an insatiable craving for slaughter. The sheer vibration caused the void to shudder.
Its right arm expanded to nearly double its former size, the flesh rippling and bulging in an unnatural display as it swung toward Cain's throat with devastating momentum.
However, just as the strike was set to connect, its entire force evaporated.
Two fingers—Cain’s index and middle—had caught the blow.
The monstrous limb trembled as every bit of the destructive power behind the axe was neutralized, stopped dead by those two thin digits. A wave of awe and respect washed over the cultivators of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance as they beheld this impossible feat.
But their sense of relief didn't last long.
Cain's left arm began to shake violently.
"BOOM!"
In a flash, it burst apart.
Blood splattered across Cain’s features as his arm was shredded from within, demolished by the immense force he had attempted to contain. Despite this, the Scarlet King’s focus remained unshaken. His eyes shimmered with a blend of scarlet and golden light, saturating the void with his indomitable will.
Though his left arm was gone, the energy had already traveled to his Dantian region and was instantly redirected.
Rather than letting the energy vent in a raw state, Cain compressed every fragment of it into a Zero-State Sphere. His right hand flared with brilliance as he
thrust it forward. Wearing a savage grin, he slammed the sphere directly into the creature's torso.
The monster was genuinely moved.
It could feel the terrifying annihilation inherent in that orb, a power capable of wiping out both the physical body and the soul. Yet, it did not flinch. Unlike Radagon, this being wasn't created for conquest or complex plots. It was a manifestation of pure destruction, birthed from the essence of the Root for one goal—to ruin, erase, and spread eternal corruption and decay forever.
Consequently, instead of retreating, it launched a counterattack with its remaining strength.
Its left axe swung forward like a divine force of sundering.
The two strikes hit almost at once.
The Zero-State Sphere sank into the beast's flesh at the exact moment the axe bit into Cain’s left ribs.
For a heartbeat, there was total silence. Then—
"BOOOOOOOOM!"
A massive detonation occurred, tearing the void asunder as the Scarlet King and the Root monster were hurled in opposite directions. Upon contact, the Zero-State Sphere expanded ferociously, turning into a giant meteor of Nihility and Entropy that consumed soul and flesh alike.
The creature was slammed deep into the crust of the World of the Root, the corrosive energy continuing its relentless downward drive. Ripples of dark power—strong enough to decay time itself—radiated outward, causing destruction across continents made of putrid flesh and infinite rot.
Cain did not escape without injury.
The axe had sliced through his skin, blood, and sinew as if
they were paper. Even worse, it discharged a crimson arc of power that sent him spinning through the void, causing the Gate of Babel to forcibly dissipate.
Blood trailed behind him as his body tumbled through the darkness.
A physique that should have possessed the durability of a Late Alpha-Omega Overgod Treasure after his Resurreccion was sliced clean in two. Almost everything between his waist and his heart had been ripped away in a gruesome fashion.
A flicker of shock crossed Cain’s gaze.
Then, immediately after, his eyes burned with an intense will.
The power of the Samsara Immortal Body ignited, draining a vast sea of energy in a mere second. Dark purple flames wrapped around his frame as his regeneration kicked in at a frightening pace. Before the eyes of every warrior in the void, his spine, organs, nerves, and muscles were rebuilt one by one.
Cain’s form was fully restored, radiating renewed strength without a single scar remaining on his body.
However, he wasn't the only one capable of healing.
"BOOOOOOM!"
A thunderous explosion rang out from the surface of the World of the Root as the beast climbed out. A gaping hole remained in its chest, and nearly its entire front had been turned to nothing. Yet, pieces of the World of the Root broke away, merging into its body and repairing the damage at a startling speed.
The monster grinned at Cain with bloodthirsty intent.
The pain had only served to whet its appetite for combat.
"Finally," it growled, using a long tongue to lick blood from its lips, "after countless eons, a fight worth having. I, Robuke, offer you my thanks."
Its Qi exploded outward as its veins surged again, driving
its already terrifying power to even greater heights.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as he evaluated his opponent.
"His physical state has returned to its peak," Cain observed mentally, "but Zero-State Force eats at the soul. That injury hasn't fully mended yet."
He then checked his own condition.
"I am also far from perfect. Rebuilding my internal organs drained a massive amount of my energy reserves."
Inhaling deeply, the Scarlet King manifested a Zero-State Spear, tempering it with the Primordial Force of the Void and the Light of the Flow. He cast a quick look toward Anark and his companions. "Incinerate as much of the surface as possible," Cain ordered with a calm voice. "Then fall back before the gap in the Wall of Fire and Flesh seals itself."
Without wasting a breath, his Wings of Chaos erupted as he charged forward, passing through the Wall of Fire and Flesh while his soul, body, and will burned with intensity.
The Universe Matrix would no longer be there to suppress the foe's strength.
The coming clash would be significantly more lethal.
But there was no path left but forward.
Axe and spear clashed in the following moment, their combined energies exploding in every direction. The Power of Chaos flooded the souls and wills of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance warriors, sparking their battle intent and incinerating all traces of doubt. As they surged through the breach, they brought ruin to the surface of the World of the Root, obliterating everything in their wake.
