The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2329 Cain's evolution
Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
Cain stood motionless by the river's edge. His posture remained relaxed and his heart steady, even as the firmament above shuddered and the dimensional laws spiraled into chaos. With his eyes closed, he seemed completely detached from the surrounding upheaval. There was a singular reason for his absolute stillness.
At this very moment, his Black Hole—the physical manifestation of his soul force and cultivation base—was undergoing a profound evolution. Following months of traversing treacherous lands, absorbing energy from supreme laws, and consuming the life essence of countless abominations, Cain had finally crossed a vital threshold.
Through persistent refinement and step-by-step progress, he had forced his cultivation to its absolute limit.
Now, the breakthrough was happening.
Minor eruptions of power began to resonate from his physical form and Soul Dimension. These pulses were faint at the start, barely perceptible, but they intensified with every passing second. The surges stacked atop one another, growing increasingly violent until his entire being was rocked. Every cell in his body vibrated, and every fragment of his soul resonated in harmony.
Then, with a final, overwhelming surge, the metamorphosis was complete.
Cain had ascended to the rank of an Alpha-Omega Overgod!
His eyes snapped open, radiating a brilliance more intense than ever before. A confident smile crossed his face as he sensed the transformations permeating every fiber of his existence. His physical strength had reached a new peak, while his soul felt infinitely deeper and more resilient.
More significantly, Cain detected a massive improvement the moment he peered inward toward his True Name.
While the realization of universal unification had heightened the importance of the Crimson World's war, Cain had not forgotten the looming shadow of the threat back home.
The World of the Root was gaining power by the moment. To stand against it, his Ego Eternal Path of Power required further evolution; the advancement of his True Name was a monumental stride toward that goal.
Owing to his peerless foundation, it took less than thirty minutes for Cain's energy to reach a state of total stability. Once settled, he rose from the riverbank and shifted his gaze toward the horizon.
Reaching the Alpha-Omega Overgod rank did more than just bolster his combat prowess; it significantly magnified the potency of his abilities, specifically the Power of Chaos and the Flow. His perception had expanded exponentially, allowing him to track worldly fluctuations with terrifying precision.
Suddenly, a sharp, frigid glint flickered in Cain's eyes.
He looked to his left—and simply vanished.
His movement was instantaneous and executed with staggering velocity, yet it was entirely silent. There was no surge of energy or even a ripple in the atmosphere. He moved as nothing more than a voiceless shadow flickering through the world.
In under half an hour, Cain came to a halt behind a dense thicket of trees. Completely concealed, he observed two warriors standing in a clearing.
They were members of the Freedom Path.
One was a hulking figure encased in dark, layered armor featuring sharp, angular plating. A hood masked most of his head, revealing a face that lacked both eyes and a nose. The only visible trait was a disturbing, wide grin that gave him a distinctly non-human aura. The second warrior was also fully armored from head to toe, with glowing crimson orbs embedded in his chest plates. Each orb pulsed with immense energy, signaling a formidable internal energy flow.
"Zanko... and Hanzo," Cain whispered to himself.
He recognized the pair instantly from the memories he took from Urin. They were elite Neo-Angels who had attained the Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod Stage.
In the past, Cain would have gone to any lengths to avoid such an encounter. Facing even a single Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod would have pushed him to his breaking point. However, the situation was different now.
Cain inhaled deeply.
He condensed his aura entirely within his body. Scarlet flames merged with pure destructive essence, leaving not a single detectable ripple. Once his power was compressed to its absolute limit, Cain struck.
He blurred forward.
Chaos Wings unfurled from his back as bone spikes tore through the skin of his elbows and knees. The instincts of Zanko and Hanzo screamed a warning as they felt the sudden eruption of power, but the realization came too late. Cain appeared between them before they could react. Pivoting, he drove his blade into the earth and released the totality of his gathered strength.
A towering, dark-scarlet sword of fire erupted from the ground. The blaze swallowed everything in its vicinity, drowning the battlefield in ruinous flames. The mere heat caused the air to ignite, but it was the raw destructive energy that made the heavens and the earth tremble.
Two shadows leaped from the inferno a second later.
The Neo-Angels deployed their plasma wings and activated their Salvation Incarnation, yet their bodies were already scarred by burning wounds and clinging scarlet embers. Zanko and Hanzo traded a frantic look, struggling to coordinate a defense.
They were far too slow.
Cain had already charged back into the fight.
He targeted Zanko first, the more massive of the two Neo-Angels. Cain’s sword hummed with power and ruin as he swung, the edge of the blade exploding with dark-scarlet fire.
Zanko sensed the terrifying killing intent behind the blow. Though the burning flames latched onto his skin and began draining his vitality, his combat will did not waver. He balled his fists and unleashed an overwhelming pressure, striking toward Cain to trigger a cataclysmic shockwave.
To the Neo-Angel's dismay, his shockwave hit nothing but an afterimage—one that still radiated a lethal presence.
In the blink of an eye, Cain had repositioned himself above him.
He fell upon his foe like a final sentence of judgment.
His sword, wreathed in dark-scarlet flames, dominated everything in its path. Zanko reacted with desperation, throwing up his arm and twisting the fabric of the sky to create a collapsing shield of space.
Cain’s Imperium Blade tore through the collapsing sky without a moment's pause, sundering the defense. The steel sliced through flesh with ease, sending sprays of blood into the air before the Neo-Angel was swallowed by flames.
An instant later, Zanko was hurled into the earth like a falling star.
