The Eldest Sister Has Space Chapter 3751: Fanwai Ruyi is back

"Song, Song..." Gu Ruyi's eyes stretched wide with shock, her gaze fixed on Song Yan, who was currently disguised as a humble coachman.

Chi Chi quickly pressed a finger to his lips, signaling for silence. "Shh, keep your voice down."

Gu Ruyi was trembling with disbelief. "Chichi, you all... does your uncle know about this?"

"He knows; my uncle gave his consent. Please, board the carriage first. We should head to your home, and I will explain everything to you once we are moving."

Still dazed, Gu Ruyi nodded and turned to follow his instructions.

Just as she prepared to step back into the carriage, a familiar voice reached her ears. "Ruyi, Ruyi! Is that you? Are you finally back?"

Gu Ruyi turned around to find Xiaolu approaching.

A sudden smile broke across her face. "Xiaolu, is your shift over?"

It was indeed the hour when the embroidery workshop closed for the day. Not only was Xiaolu there, but a crowd of other embroiderers from the workshop were also walking in their direction.

Aside from Xiaolu, however, the other women seemed to hesitate. Their expressions were filled with a complicated mix of emotions as they looked at Gu Ruyi.

Gu Ruyi realized immediately that these people must have heard the rumors regarding her time in Xuanhe Mansion.

Glancing toward Song Yan, who remained in his coachman’s disguise, Gu Ruyi spoke loudly to Xiaolu as she ran up. "I've just arrived in the city. My cousin was the one who brought me back. We were lucky the city gates hadn't closed yet, or we would have been forced to find lodging outside for the night."

Xiaolu hadn't been paying much attention to the other carriage, but she froze when she heard Gu Ruyi mention her cousin. Looking over, she saw Chi Chi poking half of his head out from the other vehicle. She swallowed hard and whispered respectfully, "Young Master."

Turning back to Gu Ruyi, she said quickly, "In that case, Ruyi, I won't keep you. You should head home first. You've been gone so long that your aunt must be desperately missing you. Once you’ve settled in and cleaned up, I’ll come over to visit."

Had Chi Chi not been present, Xiaolu would have likely followed Ruyi home right then and there. She was bursting with questions for her friend.

"Alright." Gu Ruyi climbed into the carriage and waved goodbye to Xiaolu and the cluster of embroidery girls behind her before signaling the coachman to drive toward her house.

The moment the carriages departed, the embroiderers immediately swarmed Xiaolu, peppering her with questions. "Xiaolu, what did Ruyi just say to you?"

"Who was that boy in the other carriage? You looked like you were a bit terrified of him."

Xiaolu lowered her voice significantly. "It isn't fear; that is the Prince of Yong'an. I was acting out of awe. I never imagined the Prince would personally escort Ruyi home. The Marquis of Yong'an truly treats Ruyi with incredible kindness."

"Indeed, we never guessed Ruyi possessed such a powerful backing. To think her aunt is actually Madam Hou and her uncle is a high-ranking court official. That status is simply terrifying."

"Did you see the chests on that last carriage? I remember Ruyi only had a single bag when she left. Now she returns with a carriage full of boxes. Madam Hou is exceptionally generous."

"Do you suppose Ruyi will return to the embroidery workshop? With her current standing, she could easily open a workshop of her own, couldn't she?"

"I doubt she needs to open any workshop. You wouldn't believe it, but ever since her identity was revealed, countless matchmakers have been swarming the Li household these past few days. It was only because the wife of our cloth village owner stepped in that those people were kept at bay."

"Does the owner's wife have designs on Ruyi for her own family?"

Regarding the second son of the Pang family and his feelings for Ruyi, neither Mrs. Lin nor Xiaolu had breathed a word upon their return; they knew such talk could destroy Ruyi's reputation.

"In my opinion, since Ruyi was staying at the Xuanhe Mansion with her aunt looking after her, a prestigious marriage has likely already been arranged."
