Qingyi boards the Black Diamond spaceship and immediately connects with its systems. Ziyue demonstrates the ship's powerful armaments, including two rapid-fire cannons and a massive main cannon. She reveals that the ship was a gift, easing Qingyi's concerns about the cost. Ziyue then offers Qingyi the pilot's seat and a special helmet for Lingxi to operate the weapons.

For the first time since the test flight conducted shortly after its creation, the sun once again bathed the Black Diamond's obsidian-and-silver fuselage.

The engines glowed a deep gold, rumbling softly as they carried the ship skyward.

Light streamed down the sharp lines of the hull, the black swallowing every ray while the silver details caught it in fleeting flashes.

Behind it, a trail like a mist of molten gold stretched across the sky.

That beautiful, elegant form sliced through the air so cleanly that it barely left a ripple in its wake.

As a rule, the Immortal Celestial Capital allowed only civilian ships inside its air space, and even then only with their weaponry fully deactivated and under the strict control of an advanced artificial intelligence.

The restriction existed mainly to prevent terrorist attacks.

Of course, for the Mu Family, that mattered little.

Settled into the pilot's seat, Qingyi kept his right hand on the throttle and his left on the control stick.

Lingxi, nestled in his lap, rested her tiny hands on top of his, her fingers barely covering his knuckles. She made adorable little noises with her mouth as she pretended she was the one controlling the spacecraft.

Every time the ship tilted slightly, she leaned her small body along with it, brow furrowed in deep concentration, as if her weight made any difference.

Qingyi smiled at the scene, letting his daughter have fun to her heart's content.

Still, he kept the weapon triggers completely locked to prevent any accidents, the main and secondary cannons retracted inside the Black Diamond's fuselage.

The last thing he needed was a curious little hand pressing the wrong button.

Behind him, Ziyue and the other wives were already settled in their own seats, chatting among themselves and enjoying the flight.

Qingyi pulled the control stick back, and the ship's sword-shaped nose lifted toward the sky.

He pushed the throttle forward, letting the craft pick up speed.

The roar of the engines deepened, a gentle vibration rising from the floor and up through the seats. In his lap, Lingxi gripped his fingers tighter, her eyes going wide.

Down below, in the Immortal Celestial Capital, heads turned skyward. People stopped in the streets to watch the Black Diamond tear across the blue, that golden trail stretching out behind it like a streak of fire.

The dome was approaching fast. The ship had its own spatial arrays, so Qingyi wasn't too worried.

Just a few meters from the barrier, the ship seemed to lose its physical form for a brief moment, its hull shimmering like a mirage before slipping through as if nothing were there.

On the other side, the Black Diamond's speed skyrocketed.

The arrays absorbed almost all the effects of the sudden acceleration, but everyone still felt a little of it—a slight jolt pressing their bodies back into the seats.

Lingxi let out a loud laugh as the acceleration pushed her back, her small head bumping gently against her father's stomach.

Then she tilted her face up and patted Qingyi's chest, as if to complain, a tiny pout on her lips. He smiled down at her.

"It's okay, princess, Daddy will be more careful," he said, taking his left hand off the control stick.

Tapping the digital panel to his left, he opened a map of the Celestial Heaven, points of light floating on the glass, and set their destination to an asteroid belt not too far away.

That belt was quite famous for its density.

Normally, the asteroids in a belt were thousands or even hundreds of thousands of kilometers apart. In this one, the distance between them was usually just a few hundred meters to a few kilometers.

Because of that density, it was the perfect place to test the ship's weaponry.

The Black Diamond tore through the void as Qingyi pushed the throttle to the max, the stars stretching into thin lines across the glass ahead.

Ziyue rose from her seat at once, walking toward one of the walls with calm steps.

With a wave of her hand, the smooth surface slid open, revealing a large, luxurious wine cellar.

In that cellar alone, hundreds of bottles rested in elegant rows.

"Let's have a little drink, girls." Ziyue laughed, picking out twenty of her finest—ancestral wines and liqueurs of incomparable flavor.

With another wave, a huge circular table appeared in the center of the cockpit.

To the other women's surprise, their seats moved on their own, gliding across the floor until they surrounded the table.

Soon, glasses were clinking and the wine was flowing. The women poured for one another, soft laughter filling the cockpit as the sweet aroma of the drinks wafted through the air.

Rouxi scooped Lingxi up from her father's lap and set her down right in the center of the table, along with her little bottle full of juice.

Beaming, the girl began to drink, gripping the bottle with both hands and kicking her legs back and forth, right in the middle of all that conversation.

Qingyi just shook his head, chuckling softly, and kept piloting the ship, the steady hum of the engines under his palms.

Naturally, the Golden Guards had not followed him. It wasn't necessary.

Ziyue was incredibly powerful—one of the few members of the great families capable of standing up to the leaders and ancestors of the Nine Great Martial Sects.

For that reason, they had remained at the Mu Family, awaiting Qingyi's return.

Honestly, Qingyi was happy.

His wives were happy, and during his time in the Celestial Heaven, he had met many honorable and worthy people.

There was corruption, of course, but Tianjin had done an incredible job.

He was practically the emperor of the Celestial Heaven's orthodox world, and he had essentially eradicated corruption, forcing every sect to do the same within its own ranks.

Over the past hundred thousand years, he had taken power into his own hands, albeit indirectly.

He had ensured justice, honor, and dignity for the orthodox world.

Since its creation, the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance had never had a leader more worthy than Long Tianjin himself.
