The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 904 - Stellar Sovereign realm (04)

Qingyi enjoyed a long, pleasant bath with his wives, playing at length with Lingxi before finally leaving the realm of the mind.
His body felt completely rested, his mind as calm as an untouched spiritual lake, without a single ripple to disturb its surface.
Sitting in the lotus position on the cool floor of the room, he opened the system store with a single thought.
For several minutes, he browsed the many potions on offer, purchasing various cultivation resources and foundation-strengthening items before finally opening his status screen.

His fortune had been drained to an absurd degree, yet a satisfied smile still curved the corners of his lips.
Closing his eyes, Qingyi extended his spiritual perception, sensing each of the countless cultivation resources stored within his spatial ring.
There was a colossal amount of them—both those he had purchased from the system and those he had looted from the Heavenly Demon.
To the Orthodox Martial Alliance, he had returned only the items that originally belonged to it and the other orthodox sects. Everything else, the varied and unidentified treasures, he had kept for himself.
Deep down, it was no exaggeration to say that, at that moment, he ranked among the five richest men in all of the Celestial Heaven.
Letting out a quiet sigh, Qingyi retrieved the first spiritual resource from his spatial ring and began the process of absorbing it.
For the next few hours, that was all he did.
He consumed treasures designed to strengthen his Qi and soul, rare herbs that refined his karma, and elixirs capable of attracting high-level stars.
As for which celestial body he would ultimately draw down, Qingyi already had a very clear idea.
One of Akane's subordinates had, in the past, read his fate, and by all indications, the celestial body destined for him would be the Heavenly Slaughter Star—a star whose appearance always heralded eras of great calamity.
If that were truly the one meant for him, Qingyi would already consider himself more than satisfied, since it ranked among the three most powerful stars in all of the Celestial Heavens.
The calamity part was worrisome, of course, but he could always simply crush it.
His eyes slid shut once more as he felt the effects of all those resources spreading to every corner of his body, his Qi denser and more refined than ever before.
Finally, it was time to attain true immortality.
Qingyi reached into his spatial ring and retrieved a golden pill; its gleaming surface pulsed gently with an inner light, as if something alive rested at its core.
He wasn't overly concerned about being struck by a heavenly tribulation, since the Heavens themselves had been considerably weakened following his battle against that celestial general.
Tribulations shouldn't pose a problem for now, but as a precaution, he still chose the most heavily fortified cultivation chamber in the entire Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance to seclude himself in.
Opening his mouth, Qingyi tossed the pill straight down his throat.
He swallowed, and the instant it reached his stomach, he channeled his Qi to begin dissolving it.
The effect was immediate.
His eyes flew wide, his heart hammering uncontrollably against his ribs.
Focusing his mind to the utmost, he forced the colossal torrent of Qi surging through his body toward his dantian.
A pained groan escaped his lips as the density of Qi around him swelled to such an extent that his body lifted from the floor, drifting naturally into the air.
To advance to the Realm of the Stellar Sovereign, one must first push the dantian to its absolute limit, then, with the resulting overload of Qi, establish a connection with the cosmos itself.
That was exactly the stage Qingyi was in.
The pill in his stomach flooded his body with an absurd amount of Qi while, on its own, opening a bridge toward the cosmos.
Slowly, the handsome young man felt his body transform as his dantian cracked beneath the violent overload of Qi.
He ceased to feel the air against his skin, and soon after, even the connection to his own body dissolved, giving way to an intense heat pressing against his face.
He was no longer in his body, nor was he in that cultivation chamber.
His eyes—the only part of himself he could still feel—suddenly snapped open, momentarily blinded by an intense red light.
Above him, floating amid a void of absolute darkness, Qingyi caught a glimpse of something.
It was a star, red as fresh blood, surrounded by terrifying black spots that seemed to devour the very light itself, writhing within it as though alive.
Its aura was steeped in a terrible murderous intent, and its scorching heat seemed capable of reducing even the abyss itself to ashes.
It was not, however, this star that caught Qingyi's attention, for just behind it lay something even greater.
It was white as freshly fallen snow, its radiance so pure that the crimson star's glow paled to nothing beside it.
It didn't have a single blemish—nothing at all.
It was a white that seemed to swallow up all darkness, with a power that made even Qingyi shudder.
In his mind, the system's voice echoed.
[Impossible… that star…]
