Ye Shikai and Zhang Ting discuss the upcoming confrontation with Huo Hua, with Zhang Ting expressing doubts about their limited manpower. Ye Shikai reveals his plan: he has secured the assistance of Hong Kong's SAD special forces, led by Captain Cheng Luoqi, whom he has worked with before. They proceed to an abandoned factory, which Ye Shikai believes is Huo Hua's location. The SAD team storms the factory, quickly neutralizing the henchmen inside.

"Seal all the exits, don’t let a single person escape." Cheng Luoqi immediately ordered.

"Yes, Captain."

Ye Shikai scanned the surroundings. The people here were all armed with handguns, and a few carried heavy firepower rifles. Clearly, they were not ordinary people, but this also confirmed Ye Shikai’s suspicions. How could ordinary people possess guns? According to the data Yizai gave him, Huo Hua would come here after leaving the casino and would visit three times a week, basically every two days. An abandoned factory; the reason he comes here so frequently is self-evident.

"Quick, search over there and see if there are any other people."

"Yes."

"Yes."

The factory had many empty rooms. Ye Shikai didn’t know what was inside yet. At least, Huo Hua hadn’t been found. Although they had taken down his men, he was a cultivator. If he was really here, he must be hiding in some corner.

"Huo Hua must be inside. Everyone, split up and search."

Zhang Ting wanted to find someone with her handgun, but Ye Shikai stopped her.

"You better stay put. I’m worried something might happen if you encounter someone." Ye Shikai advised.

"Even if it’s dangerous, I have to go. I’m a police officer, after all." Zhang Ting said defiantly, but it seemed she was indeed the "weakest" here. The SAD special forces were the elite of Hong Kong, on par with Yanjing’s Dragon Teeth. They were professionally trained and equipped with advanced gear, while she was just a tough female cop.

"Officer Zhang, don’t worry. My subordinates will definitely find Huo Hua."

Bang.

Suddenly, a sound echoed from afar as a distant iron door was kicked off its hinges, hitting two SAD members who fell over with their guns.

"Who goes there? Open fire."

Bang bang bang.

Cheng Luoqi saw a figure flash by, but it was too quick to see clearly. The abandoned factory was a complex of concrete and waste, making it hard for bullets to hit their mark.

"It’s not good. It’s Huo Hua. You all stay here." Ye Shikai shouted as he rushed out. Huo Hua was a cultivator, and his men were too. Although SAD members were trained, they weren’t cultivators. Facing them head-on could cause losses, so Huo Hua had to be captured by him.

"Don’t think you can run." Ye Shikai pursued with rapid steps. Huo Hua was no match for him and couldn’t even manage to flee. It didn’t take long for Ye Shikai to catch up and knock him down with a punch.

"Mr. Huo, we meet again." Ye Shikai said with a cold smile. The following SAD members caught up, aiming their guns at Huo Hua.

"So it’s you." Huo Hua recognized Ye Shikai and felt a pang of anger in his heart. But now, having been captured, he was helpless.

"Well, well, you’re really here." Zhang Ting said indignantly. It looked like she lost the bet with Ye Shikai and would have to follow his orders. But capturing Huo Hua was what she had longed for.

"I didn’t expect you to even bring SAD along. I underestimated you two." Huo Hua noted the attire of the people in front of him, clearly having a good understanding of Hong Kong’s security forces.

"Enough, there’s no use talking. The disappearances in Yanjing and the central plains, was it you? Surrender the people, and perhaps the punishment can be lightened." Ye Shikai said coldly.

"I’ve been caught. No matter what, I can’t escape death." Huo Hua slowly closed his eyes, and suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, his face twisting. In the blink of an eye, he turned from a living person into a corpse.

"What’s going on?" Cheng Luoqi said in shock. Ye Shikai checked his pulse; he was dead. There was no bitter almond smell. This death matched the ones in the central plains identically. Presumably, he swallowed a special capsule, indicating someone from outside had remotely triggered the poison in his stomach.

"There’s someone outside." Ye Shikai shouted, and everyone immediately raised their guard. But the surroundings were pitch black, save for the sound of the night wind. How could they see anyone?

"Now that Huo Hua’s dead, what do we do? Isn’t the case at a standstill again?" Zhang Ting said anxiously. With Huo Hua dead, they came for nothing. Clearly, Huo Hua was just a small fish, but without him, the "big fish" would slip away.

"Don’t panic. Since this abandoned factory was Huo Hua’s base, there shouldn’t be no gains. Let’s hurry and search again."

"Okay."

The group spread out to look, and soon, the SAD members found hidden people.

"Captain, there are people here, a lot of them."

Ye Shikai and Zhang Ting rushed over to find dozens of raggedly dressed individuals in the factory tunnels, looking like beggars and scavengers. These were the missing people from Yanjing and the central plains. They appeared emaciated and malnourished, surely held captive for a long time.

"Are you... from Yanjing and the central plains?" Ye Shikai inquired.

"Yes, we were kidnapped here."

"So it is them, quick, send them to the hospital."

"Hurry, get them to the hospital." Cheng Luoqi immediately ordered the team to assist. She hadn’t expected Huo Hua to have kidnapped so many people and brought them to Hong Kong. What was his purpose?

.....................

"Even though Huo Hua is dead, the missing people were found. This trip wasn’t in vain, was it?" At the hospital entrance, Zhang Ting remarked. So many things happened tonight that she was still processing it.

"Yes." Ye Shikai nodded. Though the missing were found, Huo Hua’s death meant a larger conspiracy remained hidden. If not dealt with, a second Huo Hua would soon emerge, and disappearances would happen elsewhere.

"But something’s off. The disappearances in Yanjing and the central plains add up to over forty, but we’ve found less than thirty. What’s going on?" Zhang Ting asked suddenly.

"The Hong Kong police have surveyed the abandoned factory, and indeed, there are no more people. The only explanation is those unaccounted for have met with harm." Ye Shikai muttered.

"Bastard." Zhang Ting angrily punched the wall. "Huo Hua, that bastard, deserved to die."

"Huo Hua was just a small leader. If only he dies, a second Huo Hua will quickly emerge." Ye Shikai said calmly. "You should go back to Yanjing. The disappearance case has been solved, and it’s time to report back."

"What about you, aren’t you coming back with me?" Zhang Ting asked.

"I have to stay here."
