Chapter 439: Chapter 439: Will Your Love Mean Sacrificing Your Sister?

Mo Zhizi paused, momentarily astonished. Time could indeed fade everything?

A soft chuckle escaped her lips, "Indeed, it can."

Back in the day, the first heartbreak of her youth had also been gradually eroded by the passage of time.

And the man from her younger days was none other than Gu Mocheng, who was currently tailing her in his vehicle.

Silence permeated the rest of the journey, and Simon eventually drove Mo Zhizi back to her residence.

The car came to a gentle halt outside the complex gates, and Mo Zhizi unbuckled her seatbelt. "Thank you, Mr. Lawrence. I'll be heading in now."

"Good night," Simon stated, offering nothing further. A lasting impression wasn't necessary on their initial encounter.

Mo Zhizi offered a slight smile before opening the car door and exiting.

The moment Mo Zhizi turned, Gu Mocheng's car was discovered, conspicuously parked directly in front of her. Then, radiating anger, he opened his car door and strode towards her.

"Are you serious? You intend to associate with that trash?" Gu Mocheng's gaze was filled with utter disdain as he cast a look at Simon's car.

Simon, in turn, lowered his window and firmly declared, "It's quite late. Let Zhizi get some rest. Whatever this is, it can wait until tomorrow."

Gu Mocheng let out a contemptuous snort. "Zhizi? You've grown this close in such a short time?"

Simon smiled enigmatically, turning his attention to Mo Zhizi. "If you truly cannot resolve this matter, I suggest you simply contact the authorities."

Mo Zhizi nodded in agreement. "I understand. Goodbye, you should leave."

Simon raised the window and slowly drove away.

Now, Gu Mocheng and she stood facing each other in the night breeze, neither willing to yield.

"Let's discuss whatever it is tomorrow; I'm going to sleep," Mo Zhizi announced, attempting to walk past him and enter her complex.

However, Gu Mocheng seized her wrist. "Are you certain I'll be able to persuade you to come out tomorrow?"

He knew he wouldn't; he couldn't comprehend why this woman consistently evaded him. Was he truly that repulsive?

Mo Zhizi gazed at his profile and uttered two cold words: "You cannot."

Then, without the slightest hesitation, she flung off Gu Mocheng's hand and swiftly moved towards the complex's entrance.

This time, Gu Mocheng made no move to stop her. Instead, a cold laugh escaped him before he took out his phone and immediately dialed Mo Chen's number.

Beep…

The call connected after a single ring.

Gu Mocheng's voice stated, "Simon came looking for your sister. Are you going to risk your sister for love?"

…Within the opulent bedroom of the Mo Family Estate.

Mo Chen had just returned to his chambers and was preparing to retire for the night when Gu Mocheng's call came through.

"You saw it?"

"I saw it with my own two eyes! I'm telling you, you need to look after my woman as well, or this disagreement between us is far from over!" With that, Gu Mocheng terminated the call.

Mo Chen, however, fell into a contemplative silence. He switched off his phone and placed it on the bedside table. Just as he was about to extinguish the bedside lamp near Qiao Ruoxin, he noticed the Little Ghost had stirred awake.

"Was that call from Young Master Gu? Simon went to see your cousin, Mo Zhizi?" Qiao Ruoxin inquired.

Mo Chen's brows drew together slightly; it appeared the Little Ghost had overheard their entire conversation.

"Yes."

Qiao Ruoxin sat up, resting against the pillows, and sighed. "What on earth does he want? Is he trying to force me to meet him?"

"Don't go!" the man exclaimed, his voice tinged with anger.

She paused for a moment before leaning into his embrace. "Of course, I know I shouldn't, but what about your cousin Zhizi?"

"I will speak with her tomorrow."

Mo Chen's gaze intensified as he tightened his arm around the woman nestled in his embrace.

At this critical juncture, he absolutely could not permit this Little Ghost to encounter Simon, lest the situation escalate uncontrollably.
