Reinhardt discovers a buried plaque revealing a "Bomb Testing Site" and later "Project Eden," a "Final Stage Human Evolution Weapon Development Facility." Meanwhile, Astaroth acknowledges Baccarat's failure but welcomes a challenging fight, hinting at future obstacles. Suddenly, multiple labyrinths begin appearing, forcing Reinhardt to issue orders for extreme caution, suspecting a demon trap, though subsequent explorations reveal the labyrinths to be empty and devoid of enemies.

Reports came in every few minutes, detailing any discovery or update the other divisions or headquarters sent back.

After dispersing the fatigued knights and adjutants, Reinhardt looked at the map sprawled before him.

Labyrinth emergence points had already been marked across the Tainted Lands. The pattern looked chaotic, and there was no sign of any attempt to ambush the Allied Knight Order.

Yet something about it unsettled him deeply. His fingers slowly tapped against the map.

"What are you playing at?"

The demons had mobilized countless labyrinths at once, but achieved nothing. This did not make sense.

Meanwhile, far away from the frontlines, at the Fortress Headquarters, the gigantic stronghold remained heavily guarded even after more than half of the manpower was gone.

As the headquarters that received, compiled, and connected the long distance transmissions of the other divisions to the rest of the world, this place served as the backbone of the Dawnbringers.

What’s more, supply management, communication, medical treatment, and reserve deployment all flowed through here.

Stationed within the fortress were several powerful Heroes tasked specifically to protect the fortress and respond to any attacks occurring around the world.

At this moment, three heroes stood atop the fortress walls, gazing at the distant Tainted Lands.

Two of them held bottles of booze, and their faces were slightly red from intoxication. While the other one looked discontent, but did not say anything.

For knights of their level, this amount of intoxication was nothing.

"What are the demons up to? Why throw empty labyrinths at us?"

A man with blue hair and a spear resting by his side spoke. Faint electricity crackled from his eyes when he got a little too excited.

The man was the Storm Lancer, Orion Valebreak, one of Paradoxis’s Three Heroes.

"The frontlines have no answer either. They believe that it’s a ploy to let our guard down," spoke another man, bottle in hand.

He was a man with a huge build, his muscles were like steel, and his presence like a siege engine. Powerful and devastating.

One of Drakmor’s heroes, the Iron Bastion, Gareth Dreadmane.

"Whatever the case is, the investigation revealed that all these labyrinths had been tampered with by the demons, who destroyed anything related to the ancient kingdoms."

The speaker was a woman. Unlike the two, she did not entertain drinking during duty. She had beautiful silver hair, cold moon like eyes, and a countenance that was both beautiful and deadly.

Moonblade Princess, a title given to her by the kingdom of Vesperia. As the first daughter of the Arch Queen, she was the first in line to the throne.

Furthermore, she had another identity: one of the two Heroes of Vesperia, Seraphina Vaelith Vesperia.

The three of them were discussing the demons’ recent activities when Orion suddenly frowned.

"Did you feel that?"

The winds around the fortress shifted unnaturally.

At the same time, Seraphina’s moon like eyes slowly narrowed. And Gareth gripped the edge of the wall hard enough to crack stone.

Far in the distance, the earth began trembling.

BOOM...

The commotion was so loud that knights came out of their barracks. Far in the distance, the earth split apart. Massive stone structures rose from beneath.

This phenomenon did not surprise the knights as much, since they had already seen it a couple of times.

That’s right, the phenomenon was none other than the emergence of a labyrinth.

"Another one?!" a knight muttered in disbelief.

How many had emerged in these past few days? Counting this one, it would be the fourth labyrinth to emerge near them.

At this moment, heavy footsteps echoed out. Gareth Dreadmane folded his arms and stared at the distant labyrinth with a serious expression.

"We can’t leave that thing unchecked. That labyrinth appeared way too close to humanity’s land. Hear my command: don your armor and get into formation. We will investigate the new labyrinth."

On his command, the Sixth Division quickly got into formation.

"Fifth Division, get into formation. We need to..." Seraphina, leader of the Sixth Division and of the heroes stationed at headquarters, also gave out orders. However, she was stopped midway.

Orion looked at the direction the labyrinth appeared and then at the Tainted Lands in the opposite direction.

"I have a bad feeling about this. The Sixth Division should be enough to explore the labyrinth. There is no need for the Fifth Division to head there as well. If it’s the demons’ ploy and the frontlines are in danger, we won’t be able to respond in time. I think the Fifth Division should stand ready at the headquarters to respond to any emergency."

Seraphina considered his words before nodding her head. In any case, with Gareth and Orion taking charge, there should be no problem with the exploration.

With that settled, the two heroes quickly mobilized the Sixth Division. The fortress instantly erupted into activity.

Thousands of knights mobilized. Among the mobilized forces stood a familiar figure: Leona Marcella Valkyrie, the commander of the Knights of Lunar Veil.

Her silver blue armor gleamed beneath the sunlight as she adjusted the sword hanging at her waist. Several members of Lunar Veil stood behind her.

"This is the fourth labyrinth. I wonder how the demons got the technology to mobilize the labyrinth," one of the knights spoke.

"Demons have always been cunning. The Tainted Lands covers more than seventy percent of the entire continent’s landmass. With so many labyrinths in their territory, it was only a matter of time before they got their hands on the technology of the ancient kingdoms," Leona concluded.

What she didn’t know was that although she wasn’t wrong, she wasn’t entirely correct either.

Before long, the Sixth Division departed. The banner of the Dawnbringers fluttered proudly as thousands of knights marched toward the newly emerged structure.

.

Hours later, they arrived before the entrance. Massive stone doors stood partially open, and beyond it, darkness stretched endlessly.

"Advance carefully while watching for traps."

With the heroes leading and the Extreme Knights following right behind, the Sixth Division entered the labyrinth.

Inside, the smell of damp air assaulted their noses. Looking around, they noticed that the walls and corridors were made of ancient stone with glowing crystals embedded in them.

"This is... reinforced stone."

"Looks like we were mistaken. This might be a shelter."

The two heroes discussed, trudging ahead and dismantling or storming through any trap that was in front of them.

As objects created by the Arcanists, the two were identical except that shelters were used to hide and protect humans during the advent of the demons, while labyrinths were created to safeguard the research and items the Arcanists created during ancient times.

While the two heroes disregarded the traps, the same couldn’t be said for all the knights. Some level 6 knights who did not possess enough experience fell for the traps.

CLICK...

A knight accidentally stepped on a pressure plate. Instantly, dozens of steel spears erupted from hidden holes in the walls.

"Down!" Leona hurriedly commanded.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Her sword flashed, and the incoming spears shattered apart before reaching the knights.

As the knights advanced forward, they encountered more obstacles.

Ancient statues made of gold and silver. These things, as if alive, moved to intercept them. Collapsing bridges, hidden chambers, mazes... all sorts of traps were waiting for them.

The reckless and the inexperienced fell for multiple traps. Fortunately, the combined experience of the Heroes and veteran knights kept casualties at zero.

That said, a faint feeling bugged the Heroes. But since the feeling was too vague, they could not understand why they felt the way they did.

Several hours later... the Sixth Division reached another massive chamber. Leona stood by the entrance, gazing at the chamber in front of her.

By now, even she felt that something was amiss.

"Stay alert." Her hand instinctively moved toward her sword. The knights following her maintained their formation.

.

At the same moment, far away in the Tainted Lands, inside the main command camp, Reinhardt was studying reports when a messenger rushed into the tent.

"Commander!"

"A call came from the Fifth Division!"

"Hand me the device," Reinhardt spoke without looking up from his desk. But then, the moment he took the transmission device in his hand, his expression changed.

A strange feeling pierced his chest. A warning?

No, it was a premonition, and it came directly from his Divine Trait [Celestial Harmony]. It suddenly acted up, sending a cold sensation through his spine.

The feeling was so sudden that even Reinhardt froze for a brief moment.

The command tent became silent. Several nearby commanders noticed the change immediately.

"Commander?"

Reinhardt slowly lifted his head, his golden eyes sharpened. A bad premonition, a very bad one. The kind that only appeared when disaster was approaching.

He grabbed the transmission device firmly in his hands and spoke.

"This is the Leader of the First Division, Reinhardt. Report."

ZZZTTT... There was a lot of static before a clear voice came from the other side.
