Sword God in a World of Magic Chapter 1028 - - Infinite Destruction
Previously on Sword God in a World of Magic...
Shang drifted silently into the chamber, offering no more words.
The God Lucius just grinned with amusement.
CRK!
Suddenly, a black rift shredded the throne, demolishing it.
CRKSH!
Simultaneously, Lucius' left arm and leg burst into a spray of blood.
Still, Lucius' face stayed the same, as he kept sitting on his ruined throne atop his mangled form.
"You're weak, Lucius," Shang said while drifting nearer.
"Disappointed?" Lucius asked with a laugh.
"Did you expect some kind of epic and grand final battle?"
"No," Shang replied. "Ever since I knew that you were Lucius Volstad, I knew that you wouldn't be a challenge."
"I could probably even beat you as an Early Sword Emperor."
Lucius showed no instant response.
"Oh, come on," he said laughing. "I know that you are at least a bit disappointed."
"After all, wasn't your goal to kill me? Aren't you disappointed that your sworn enemy is so helpless and weak in front of you?"
Shang halted upon arriving at the hall's center.
This spot was where Alex had stood before, yet now the positions had flipped.
Shang held the power this time, not the God.
"You're merely a rest stop," Shang declared. "Originally, you have been my goal, but you know very well that you're not even nearly worthy enough to become my goal."
"My power has already vastly eclipsed yours, and this will not be where I stop."
Lucius' grin grew broader. "Won't it?"
"It won't," Shang replied.
Lucius chuckled lightly. "Have you actually thrown a look outside of this place?"
"Have you actually looked beyond the silver wall?"
"I have," Shang replied. "It's the world of the Abominations."
Of course, upon ascending to Godhood, Shang had peered past the silver wall.
He discovered a virtually boundless stretch of Entropy enveloping Aterium.
Astonishingly, no Abominations lurked within that endless Entropy sea.
Yet, Shang could still faintly sense Abominations present there.
This stemmed from Entropy seldom forming a solid, stable shape.
In truth, Abominations didn't truly inhabit the world of Abominations.
Actually, Abominations embodied the world of Abominations itself.
The world of Abominations resembled a massive snow heap, with each Abomination just a mere snowball.
Shang could easily rip a small chunk from the endless expanse, and upon entering Aterium, it would merge with some Mana to become an Abomination.
Conversely, returning an Abomination to its world caused it to scatter once more.
As Shang had suspected long ago, Abominations lacked true consciousness.
They merely personified Entropy, which sought to annihilate Mana.
The boundless Entropy realm had encircled
Aterium from the moment it overflowed with Mana, luring the Entropy.
"But have you looked past the black void?" Lucius inquired with a ominous laugh.
"You know exactly that it's too big," Shang stated. "The amount of Entropy in that world is at least over a billion times the amount of Mana in Aterium."
"Do you want to see what lies beyond?" Lucius asked.
Yet, Lucius ignored any reply and merely shifted his right arm slightly.
The instant after, a vision of black void materialized before Lucius.
The "camera" within the void sped ahead swiftly until it hit the void's edge.
And that's when Shang beheld it.
BOOOOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOOOM!
Destruction!
All was overwhelmed by Destruction, the power born from Mana clashing with Entropy!
Moreover, its vastness appeared everlasting and boundless!
Upon witnessing that sight, Shang found it hard to accept.
"Hahahahaha!"
Lucius burst into laughter upon sensing Shang's reaction.
"Do you get it now?"
"Do you finally understand?"
"There is no way out!"
"There never was a way out!"
"It is impossible to leave!"
Shang hardly noticed Lucius' words.
The forces revealed surpassed anything Shang could have envisioned.
Shang understood the fate awaiting him if he brushed the realm past the endless void.
He would perish.
Even a thousandfold stronger, Shang would still meet death.
Though Shang stood in the Tenth Realm now, a hypothetical Thirteenth Realm wouldn't save him!
The might beyond the endless void dwarfed the present Shang beyond comprehension.
To compare, the gap between those Destruction forces and Shang rivaled that between an Archmage and Shang today.
Despair loomed.
Absorbing the world of Abominations might grant Shang the strength to endure.
But a major issue persisted.
The Abominations' world brimmed with Entropy alongside traces of Mana.
Indeed, scattered specks of Mana dotted the endless void, yet it remained overwhelmingly 99.9% Entropy.
Of course, that mere 0.1% Mana in the boundless void dwarfed all Mana in Aterium by tens of times, but it fell far short nonetheless.
If Shang drew in every scrap of Mana plus sufficient Entropy, he could potentially hit the midpoint of a hypothetical Eleventh Realm.
Yet, even that wouldn't come remotely close to sufficiency!
Impossible.
No chance for Shang to grow strong enough to cross that terrifying zone of utter Destruction.
"Hahahahaha!"
At that instant, Lucius just erupted in booming laughter.
Shang turned back toward Lucius.
Initially, Lucius' laughter filled Shang with fury, but upon closer inspection, his rage subsided.
Thanks to his enhanced vision, Shang now grasped concepts beyond his prior comprehension.
CRACK!
Instantly, the fabric of reality over Lucius ripped open, dropping something from the void.
A blonde man's corpse tumbled out.
"Oh? Wanna check him out once more?" Lucius inquired with a fresh chuckle.
Moments ago, Lucius' original true body had plummeted to the ground.
The very corpse Lucius had once kicked about.
Shang had naturally discovered it and dragged it into this realm.
Seconds later, Shang eyed both Lucius and the body.
Gradually, connections formed in Shang's thoughts.
Suddenly, full comprehension dawned on him.
"So, a way out truly exists," Shang declared, locking eyes on Lucius.
"You just slipped up."
