Sword God in a World of Magic Chapter 1026 - - Genesis
Previously on Sword God in a World of Magic...
Shang no longer kept a close watch on the world.
He had grasped every insight he desired.
Henceforth, he would only glance at the world whenever boredom struck.
As Shang slipped into a form of hibernation, Abaddon, Gregorio, and the Archivist began crafting life.
They kicked off by spreading vast amounts of Life Mana throughout the world.
Yet, a problem arose.
Life Mana required genuine life to cling to; without it, the Mana simply scattered.
Thus, they fashioned numerous varieties of minuscule organisms.
They recalled the microscopic lifeforms that once thrived across the old Aterium.
However, they didn't merely replicate them.
After all, fresh life was essential.
Therefore, they introduced various modifications.
Of course, countless experiments ended in failure.
At times, the organisms simply disintegrated.
Other times, their duplicates grew increasingly warped until they could no longer reproduce.
Initially, birthing new life hadn't appeared overly challenging, given the Archivist and Abaddon's prior experience.
But soon, they discovered that the task proved far tougher than in the past.
Previously, they had merely shaped species to suit an established ecosystem.
Now, they had to build everything from the ground up.
Constructing a world posed an immense challenge.
In truth, it bordered on the unattainable.
As flickers of life reemerged, the flow of time regained significance.
For more than 10,000 years, the trio only succeeded in populating a few small, separate zones with life, and even that life lacked true variety or novelty.
Moreover, as life expanded further, sustaining it grew ever more arduous.
This differed from Earth, where organisms adapted to their surroundings.
No, within this barren, ashen realm, the environment itself bent to accommodate the life.
This rendered the process vastly more intricate and demanding.
Following another 10,000 years, the three finally grasped the essentials.
Through endless trials and errors over such a span, they had developed an intuition for what nurtured life and what doomed it.
Unsurprisingly, Abaddon possessed the sharpest sense of it all.
Ten thousand years onward, they had covered roughly 1% of the continent with life.
Remarkably, the Eternal Ocean was already brimming with burgeoning life.
The ocean proved simpler to populate since it featured far fewer diverse habitats than land.
Another 10,000 years passed, and they had filled over 25% of the world.
Yet another 10,000 years, and life once more overflowed across the globe.
Nevertheless, everything stood transformed.
Mountains differed, chasms varied, forests shifted, deserts changed, and more.
A single creature emitted scant Elemental Mana, yet collectively, they released immense quantities.
By now, life's cycle had turned fully self-perpetuating.
The three no longer needed to introduce fresh elements.
Novel plants and beasts emerged independently.
They had fulfilled their role.
Life now pulsed vibrantly through the world, liberating all Mana once monopolized by the colossal beasts and humans of yore.
A fresh dawn for the realm.
Sooner or later, one creature would harness a sliver of Mana to slightly toughen its hide, gaining a vital advantage over rivals.
That would mark the dawn of the first beast.
Gradually, more beasts would master this trick, ultimately discovering how to absorb Mana into their forms for lasting evolution.
Eventually, sentience would awaken in some being.
They would evolve into this world's new humans.
But such developments lay in the distant future.
Once life's mechanism achieved autonomy, a profound enlightenment dawned upon the trio's minds.
The level six Concept of Life, Genesis.
Even Gregorio had attained it.
Regrettably, lacking knowledge of the other Life Concepts, Gregorio's grasp of Genesis remained feeble.
To match Abaddon's potency, he would first need to master those other Life Concepts.
Their work was complete.
As Gregorio surveyed the thriving world, a sense of righteousness washed over him.
This world brimmed with far greater hope than its predecessor. It radiated beauty and purity.
Meanwhile, Abaddon set about refining his Path anew.
With every Concept at his disposal, he could now perfect it fully.
At last, Abaddon forged a diminutive sphere.
It embodied a miniature world, containing all essentials.
In the next instant, Abaddon shut his eyes and pressed the sphere to his brow.
Ding!
A mystical chime echoed across the world.
This resonance even roused Shang from his seclusion.
Abaddon grinned with exhilaration as Shang regarded him curiously.
At that moment, Shang sensed Abaddon's flawless bond with the world.
Actually, Abaddon's Spirit Sense was no longer held back.
Much like Shang, Abaddon's Spirit Sense now spanned across the whole world.
Yet, in contrast to Shang's aggressive imposition of his power and will upon the world, Abaddon collaborated seamlessly with it.
Abaddon supported the world, just as the world supported him.
It felt as though Abaddon had seized command over the entire world!
However, Abaddon soon began to furrow his brow.
Immediately after, his eyes shifted toward Shang.
"I think I found that God of yours," he said.
A grin spread across Shang's face.
"Some kind of force or being is controlling Aterium," Abaddon explained. "It feels like some kind of powerful hand is forcefully grabbing the sphere of Aterium."
"This force comes from an empty place with no Mana."
"This place is located in some kind of sub-dimension."
Shang eyed Abaddon with keen curiosity.
"Is there a way to get there?"
Abaddon simply nodded.
"I can create a portal."
