Switched Marriage: The Coddled Little Wife Chapter 810: Extra (Final)

Wang Tianxue was left with no alternative but to explain the previous week’s occurrences to Lin Chuxia.
Lin Chuxia shifted her gaze between He JianShe and Granny Su, appearing to grasp the underlying situation.
She then turned toward the still-oblivious Wang Tianxue, a playful and slightly mischievous grin spreading across her face.
"Since you have someone here to assist you, I’ll go ahead and take care of the guests on your behalf."
Although Wang Tianxue hoped Lin Chuxia would help her get rid of He JianShe, Lin Chuxia ignored her silent plea entirely.
The food was prepared in short order.
Wang Tianxue had to admit that her opinion of He JianShe’s culinary talents had reached a new level of respect.
Had he not mentioned serving in the cooking squad, she would have found his skill level hard to believe.
Watching He JianShe laboring in the kitchen, Old Master He’s smile was so wide that his eyes narrowed into thin lines.
When it was time for lunch, he even produced two bottles of his most prized wine to celebrate.
The atmosphere during the meal was vibrant and full of cheer; once everyone was satisfied and full, Granny Su suddenly cleared her throat to speak.
"My dear, I didn't just come here today for your housewarming; there is another matter I need to discuss."
Instinctively, Wang Tianxue straightened her posture.
She was well aware of Granny Su’s reputation; nearly all the famous factory names in Xiyang had been penned by her.
Having grown up in An City, Wang Tianxue had been raised on stories regarding Granny Su’s legendary works.
However, she had only known the woman by reputation until today’s first in-person meeting.
"What is it, Granny Su?" Wang Tianxue inquired with polite curiosity.
Granny Su looked over at Old Master He and then toward He JianShe.
"It’s like this: I have been requested by someone to act as a matchmaker. It concerns He JianShe here. I have watched this boy grow up, and I know he is a good man, yet he remains all alone. Yesterday, he traveled to An City to confess that he has feelings for a girl but lacked the knowledge of how to approach her, so I’ve come to assist him."
Old Master He gave his son a somewhat disparaging look before turning a hopeful gaze toward Wang Tianxue.
Granny Su went on, "I realize that bringing this up so suddenly today is quite abrupt. I am merely here to represent him; the choice to agree or refuse lies entirely with you. Do not feel pressured by our presence; marriage is a commitment for a lifetime, and you must decide for yourself if it is a suitable match."
Completely blindsided by Granny Su’s words, Wang Tianxue reflexively glanced at He JianShe.
Because there were only two empty spots left at the table today, the two of them had naturally ended up sitting side by side.
It was only at that moment she realized He JianShe had changed back into his uniform at some point.
He sat there perfectly rigid, looking like a fresh recruit awaiting a command from a superior.
"Well, I have said what I came to say. The meal is finished, so it is time for us to head out," Granny Su announced, rising from her seat as she concluded.
Old Master He clearly wanted to stay and hear an answer, but a single look from Granny Su forced him to follow her toward the exit.
Very quickly, only He JianShe and Wang Tianxue remained in the room; even Xiao Long had been ushered out by Wang Tianyu under the guise of helping the guests leave.
He JianShe stood up straight and looked down at the bewildered woman, his voice steady and composed.
"I apologize for the suddenness of this conversation. Tianxue, whether you believe it or not, you have been on my mind since the moment I first saw you. It isn't just a case of the old saying 'three years in the army makes even a sow look attractive'; it is because I have a powerful intuition that I want to share my future with you. I planned to take things slowly and let feelings grow, but I realized I couldn't wait any longer. Tianxue, do you understand what I'm feeling?"
Wang Tianxue couldn't suppress a laugh when she heard him quote that military proverb.
She looked at him with a hint of mock disdain, "Are you really going to claim you haven't been slowly closing the distance between us step by step?"
She had sensed something strange for a while now.
Originally, they were nothing more than casual acquaintances; at most, she viewed him as a senior through her connection to Lin Chuxia.
Yet ever since their chance meeting at the department store, she had felt a lingering sense of debt toward him that fueled a great deal of guilt.
In truth, she had been played, and she had even helped him succeed.
He JianShe gave a light chuckle, "You are worth every bit of effort. So, what is your opinion of me?"
He suddenly snapped to attention, announcing loudly, "I, He JianShe, am 1.86 meters tall and weigh 76 kilograms. I do not smoke or drink, I have no vices, and I currently serve as the director of the Yan City Police Department with a monthly income of 867.54 yuan. Comrade Wang Tianxue, are you willing to enter a relationship with me?"
Overwhelmed by laughter, Wang Tianxue covered her eyes, unable to look at him.
She was certain this massive goofball had never actually been on a date in his life.
Her hand was gently taken and moved aside, forcing her to look into his earnest eyes.
Wang Tianxue struggled to stop laughing, "Granny Su told me she wouldn't force me and that I should just follow my heart."
He JianShe nodded with total sincerity, "I won't force you, but I need a yes or no. I'm feeling rather anxious."
Wang Tianxue remained silent for a moment.
Suddenly, the prospect of spending her life with this big goofball seemed quite appealing.
Seeing her hesitation, He JianShe added, "If you're too embarrassed to speak, just nod. Otherwise, I’ll just assume you’ve agreed."
Unable to hold back any longer, Wang Tianxue rolled her eyes and said, "I don't believe you were a soldier; you must have been a bandit in a past life."
He JianShe let out a hearty laugh and pulled her into a hug, "I knew you would say yes, I'm just impatient. If being in a hurry makes me a bandit, then so be it. I have a whole lifetime to treat you right and take care of you..."
Wrapped in his sudden embrace, she was surrounded by his masculine scent.
His arms were wide and full of strength.
A sudden wave of peace and contentment washed over Wang Tianxue.
It was a feeling she hadn't experienced in a very long time.
.............
Outside, Lin Chuxia saw off Su Wensong and Granny Su before assisting Old Master He into his vehicle.
Wang Tianyu walked over and said, "Mr. Lin, a letter arrived for you this morning."
Lin Chuxia accepted the envelope; the exterior was pristine, but the handwriting was instantly recognizable.
She opened it immediately, finding only a few brief sentences written inside.
Noticing the shift in her expression, Qin Yang asked, "Who is the letter from?"
Lin Chuxia looked up and replied, "It's from Gu Peng. He has gone."
