Ethan shared a final night with Celeste, professing his love before they headed to the civil affairs bureau the next day to finalize their divorce. However, their plans were unexpectedly halted by a newly implemented 30-day cooling-off period for divorces, much to Ethan's frustration and Celeste's cold observation.

Celeste Linden withdrew her arm from his palm, “Well then, you go find a solution. I hope it goes as you want, so we can get this divorce over with quickly.”

What kind of tone is that?

Isn’t divorce what she wants? He’s just trying to rush things for her sake.

“Celeste, what’s wrong? Why are you angry? I don’t think I did anything wrong,” Ethan Barnes said, looking confused.

Celeste Linden didn’t feel like talking to him, “Let’s head back.”

“Alright.”

They got into the car and drove home. By the time they arrived, it was already noon. Ethan stopped the car in front of a restaurant, “Celeste, you must be hungry. Let’s eat first.”

Celeste Linden was indeed a little hungry, and it was lunchtime already, so she agreed, “Okay.”

As they walked into the restaurant, a person greeted them, “Hi, what a coincidence to meet again.”

Celeste quickly recognized the person as the captain of the rescue team she encountered previously, unexpectedly running into him here.

Seeing a strange man coming over to chat, Ethan Barnes immediately stepped forward and shielded Celeste behind him, “Celeste, who is he?”

“Just an acquaintance.” With that, Celeste nodded at the rescue team captain, “Hello.”

Ethan was already frowning because Celeste never smiled at him, yet she was smiling so happily at another man.

This man, whom he’d never seen before, had suddenly emerged as a rival.

“Who are you? How do you know my wife?” Ethan asked the rescue team captain with hostility.

The rescue team captain looked Ethan up and down and chuckled, “Oh, so you’re her husband. I finally get to meet you in person.”

“You know me?”

“Oh, it’s like this… one time…”

“I’m hungry,” Celeste interrupted, cutting off the rescue team captain, “We need to eat and then hit the road. We won’t be able to chat.”

The rescue team captain nodded, “Okay.”

“Let’s go,” Celeste pulled Ethan away.

They sat down in a private room, and Ethan ordered dishes to Celeste’s taste. After the waiter left, he looked at Celeste suspiciously, “How do you know that guy? Why didn’t you let me talk to him? Is there some story between you two?”

Celeste raised her head to look at him, “That’s my business. Aren’t we going to get a divorce? Just don’t meddle in my affairs.”

Though she said this…

“I’ve never seen this man before. If you met him while we were married, and you are cheating, am I not supposed to care?” Ethan huffed angrily.

What cheating! Celeste grabbed a few napkins, crumpled them, and threw them forcefully at his annoying but handsome face, “Stop being paranoid. I haven’t done anything to betray you.”

Really?

Ethan was growing increasingly suspicious of her, though he trusted her, that man still made him feel uneasy.

He stood up.

“Where are you going?”

“To the bathroom, do you want to come?”

“…”

Ethan left, but he didn’t go to the bathroom. Instead, he went outside the restaurant and found the rescue team captain, “Hey, how do you know my wife? Why have I never seen you before?”

The rescue team captain quickly responded, “I met your wife during a rescue mission.”
