Celeste Linden shook her head, "I’m not going."
Ethan Barnes stared at her, "Really not going?"
"Yeah." Celeste Linden nodded affirmatively.
Ethan Barnes lowered his handsome eyelids, then let her go while cursing under his breath, "Fine, don’t go, you heartless thing. Help me pack my clothes, I’ll go take a shower first."
He went into the bathroom.
Celeste Linden put all his clothes inside, then got onto the bed. Danielle was still sleeping in the middle, and she lay on the inside, her mind a mess with thoughts as she closed her eyes.
By the time Ethan Barnes came out, she was already asleep, lost in dreams.
What a heartless thing.
Ethan Barnes skillfully nudged Danielle further inside, then pulled Celeste Linden over, holding her in his arms. Truly, it wasn’t that they couldn’t bear to leave him; rather, he couldn’t bear to leave them.
This stolen moment of happiness was too blissful, like a dream. He wished he could just stop time and stay by their side forever.
Ethan Barnes gazed lovingly at Celeste Linden in his arms, then kissed her red lips.
Inside, Danielle turned over and faced the wall, asleep. Ethan Barnes rolled over, pressing Celeste Linden beneath him, and pulled the blanket to cover them both.
He broke into a sweat, his whole body tense, feeling both anxious and excited. He couldn’t bear just leaving like this, not tomorrow.
Celeste Linden dreamed once again, and this time the dream left her blushing, the man’s rugged breath tickling her ear, along with his husky voice, "Celeste, I love you."
It seemed he repeated over and over again in her ear about his love for her.
Celeste Linden wanted to escape, couldn’t bear his intense warmth and fiery confession, only wanting to push him away.
But he held her tightly, not giving her the slightest chance.
"Mommy, mommy~" Celeste Linden was awakened by Danielle’s tender, childish call.
Celeste Linden opened her eyes; Danielle was already awake. "Mommy, Daddy is leaving, let’s go see him off together~"
Celeste Linden sat up; it was now six in the morning, just dawn. The space beside her was empty; Ethan Barnes had already gotten up.
How could she sleep so deeply?
Thinking of that dream, Celeste Linden glanced at her clothes, they were still on. She was still inside, though... feeling a little unwell.
For a moment, she couldn’t tell if it was all just a dream.
At that moment, Danielle urged, "Mommy, get up quickly, or we’ll be late~"
Celeste Linden immediately got up, took Danielle and went outside. It was brightly lit, a few jeeps parked on the lawn, and Ethan Barnes stood tall at the car, explaining something to his subordinates.
He was wearing a black coat, looking exceptionally attractive in the morning dew.
"Boss, your wife is here to see you off."
Ethan Barnes turned his head and saw Celeste Linden and Danielle. He strode over with his long legs.
"Daddy, remember to come home when you can. Danielle and Mommy will miss you every day~" Danielle clung to Ethan Barnes’ neck, reluctant.
Ethan Barnes picked up Danielle, giving his daughter a kiss, then looked at Celeste Linden, his eyes overflowing with tender affection. He asked her softly, "Why are you awake?"
Celeste Linden’s face was a bit red, her whole demeanor like a rose battered by rain, casually draped in a cardigan, looking both soft and alluring. She looked at Ethan Barnes, momentarily speechless.
"Make sure to catch up on sleep later, call me if anything comes up." Ethan Barnes instructed with concern.
"Yeah." Celeste Linden nodded.
Ethan Barnes held Danielle in one arm and wrapped the other around her fragrant shoulders, leaving a deep kiss on her forehead.
