Ethan Barnes admits to faking his memory loss to Celeste and colluding with the old man to secure their marriage. He also reveals he was never truly injured when Carlotta attacked him. Meanwhile, Celeste's daughter Danielle encounters Nina, who calls Danielle a "wild child." Ethan intervenes, scaring Nina into apologizing to Danielle.

"Uncle, Danielle has already forgiven me, please let me down." Nina cried fearfully, tears and snot streaming.

Ethan Barnes finally loosened his grip and let Nina down.

He was never one for mercy, and anyone who bullied his daughter was not spared, even if it was a child like Nina, especially a troublesome child.

Ethan walked over and picked up Danielle. "Danielle, you are Daddy and Mommy’s precious. If anyone dares to call you a wild child again, you tell Daddy, and I won’t let them off easy, okay?"

"Mm, I got it Daddy!"

Nina watched Danielle being lifted high in the air, her little mouth pouting, and suddenly burst into tears, running back towards the villa, utterly heartbroken.

Adela hugged her daughter. "Nina, what’s wrong? Who bullied you? Tell Mommy quickly."

"It was Uncle Ethan! Danielle isn’t a wild child, Danielle is Uncle’s precious, Uncle loves Danielle," Nina sobbed.

Adela was initially ready to rush out and fight, but upon hearing Ethan had reprimanded Nina, she immediately backed down. That day, Ethan had left a very strong psychological shadow on her.

It seems indeed that Ethan is quite attentive to Celeste Linden and Danielle, that mother and daughter pair. Adela realized she couldn’t easily offend them anymore.

At that moment, Ethan entered with Danielle in his arms, glancing at Adela with a piercing look that contained a warning.

Adela’s hand trembled as she forced a smile, "Uncle, there were misunderstandings before between us, so if there are things where I offended you, please be magnanimous and don’t dwell on them."

"Don’t say that to me, say it to my wife."

"Okay."

Adela promptly found Celeste Linden. "Sister-in-law, I was wrong before, mistakenly believing the crazy rumors outside, and made things unpleasant for you. I won’t do it in the future, we’re family after all, and Nina and Danielle are basically sisters."

Celeste was surprised that the usually arrogant and domineering Adela had such a complete turnaround today, taking the initiative to admit her fault and seek reconciliation. It was truly a rarity.

Celeste looked up, only to see Ethan standing not far away, holding Danielle, watching her.

At this moment, he seemed to be the strongest support for their mother-daughter duo.

Celeste withdrew her gaze and shook her head, "Let it be, what’s past is past."

"I knew my sister-in-law was generous and wouldn’t hold it against me."

The dinner went relatively smoothly, and after it ended, Ethan drove Celeste and Danielle home.

Once home, Ethan’s trusted assistant came over, "Boss, you’ve been on leave long enough, it’s time to head back."

Celeste flinched slightly—he was going to leave again.

After his injury and marriage, he had rested for a while and returned to camp, but upon hearing Adela bullying the mother and daughter, he rushed back overnight, staying for quite a time. It was time for him to leave.

"You guys talk, I’ll take Danielle upstairs."

Celeste took Danielle to the master bedroom, Danielle asked in a small voice, "Mommy, is Daddy leaving us again?"

"It looks like it." Celeste nodded.

"But, I don’t want Daddy to leave us, Mommy, can’t we always be with Daddy?" Danielle drooped her little head.

That might be difficult, Ethan’s profession is special.

Originally, Celeste felt relieved when he left home, but unconsciously, she seemed to have gotten used to him being at home, staying by her and Danielle’s side. Is it possible that she was influenced by Danielle?
