Staring at the arrogant silhouettes of the mother and daughter, Celeste Linden, "..."
...
Danielle came home from school, and when she saw her cherished doll was missing, she immediately asked, "Mommy, why is my doll missing?"
"Danielle, Nina came over today. She liked your doll, so she took it."
"What?" Danielle frowned unhappily, "Just because Nina likes my things, she can take my doll without my permission? Taking without asking is theft; how is her behavior different from a thief’s?"
Celeste Linden also felt very antagonistic toward Nina and Adela’s actions. She hugged Danielle, "Danielle, Mommy will buy you another doll, okay? This is the first and the last time. If Nina dares to come and take your things again, we absolutely won’t let her take them."
Alright then.
Danielle nodded, "Okay, I listen to Mommy."
The next day, Nina came again, having tasted the sweetness, and went straight for Danielle’s room, opening her wardrobe.
Inside Danielle’s wardrobe were lots of pretty princess dresses, some of which were uniquely designed by Celeste Linden herself, impossible to buy even with money.
"Wow, Mommy, why does Danielle have so many pretty princess dresses? The princess dresses you bought for me aren’t as pretty as Danielle’s."
Adela was a bit jealous because she heard Celeste Linden was the chief designer, and these princess dresses were clearly designed by Celeste Linden herself.
Adela and Celeste Linden were sisters-in-law. She felt that Celeste Linden had stolen her thunder; originally, her family background and birth were far ahead of Celeste Linden’s.
Now losing face in front of her daughter, Adela snorted immediately, and admonished, "Nina, what do you understand? Danielle’s mommy was pregnant before marriage. Look, Danielle is already three years old, and your uncle only married her. This means she relied on climbing into your uncle’s bed to marry into the Barnes family."
"Such women are temptresses; of course, they choose pretty clothes and pretty dolls. Like mother, like daughter. Danielle is a bad kid. You must not play with such children."
"I understand, Mommy. I don’t want to play with Danielle, but I want these pretty princess dresses. I want to take them all home," Nina said.
Adela waved grandly, "Take whatever you like. You are the little princess of the Barnes family; everything here belongs to you."
"Okay."
Nina immediately began selecting pretty princess dresses, and Adela walked out.
Soon Danielle returned. Danielle had actually guessed Nina would come today, so she waited here in advance for Nina.
"Nina, what are you doing?"
Nina turned around and saw Danielle, Danielle’s delicate little face was radiating coldness as she looked at her.
Nina said smugly, "I’m choosing your princess dresses. I’m going to take all your princess dresses."
Danielle stepped forward and said coldly, "Put my things down. I’m speaking calmly to you now, but if calm words don’t work, don’t blame me for being impolite."
Her daddy had told her that if reasoning doesn’t work with thieves and robbers, then only fists will.
Nina was a wealthy young lady; no one had ever dared talk to her like this. She immediately put her hands on her hips and said, "I won’t put down your princess dresses, what do you dare do to me?"
Danielle grabbed her princess dress firmly, "Let go."
Nina pulled hard on the other end, "I won’t let go."
